    Second movement is literally the most perfect piece of music I've heard.

    for many pieces, i tend to leave timestamps for myself. but this one of the few works where there are too many points in the recording that i look forward to with every listen. almost every second would be timestamped, if that were the case. when i start to think to myself that “oh this is for sure my favourite section”, my mind returns to other places and i have to accept the fact that it’s impossible to just chose with this one. the piece in it’s entirety belongs on loop for me.

    It sounds almost like another movement from "Introduction et Allegro" from Ravel, and I love it!! That color combination of strings, flute and harp is magical...

    To sail around the world and write beautiful music? Sounds like an amazing life if you ask me.

      Albert Roussel was a sailor before he became a composer

    The whole section from 6:26 - 8:00 oh my that melody that the flute plays twice is incredibly beautiful.

    Jean Cras is one of those composers who fly under the radar of the classical music media, you know, the run of the mill concert hall programs and label recording's best sellers, but his music is always so delightful and well-written! I'm yet to listen to his _Polyphème_ but I've read it is quite good!

      I hate how so many composers go under the radar. Good thing we live in the 21th century and most have acess to all of these masterpieces without the need to go and buy sheet music/spend ludicrous amount of money to go to concerts :)

      @@placeholdier : I don't mind spending money on concerts when the music is interesting - but the genre I love is among the ilk of this wonderful piece and is too rarely found on the concert stage. I am grateful these (sadly) obscure works are performed and placed on UA-cam.

    splendido !!! chissà se con il pianoforte al posto dell'arpa potrebbe avere lo stesso fascino

      Be', si è curato di scrivere delle battute alternative per certi passaggi ipotizzando una versione al piano, quindi avrà pensato a quest'idea... Purtroppo non mi risulta questo brano sia mai stato registrato in quell'altra versione.

      La scrittura è tipicamente arpistica, al pianoforte non rende la stessa atmosfera magica che questo brano richiede. Secondo me ha previsto il piano come ripiego, un'esecuzione con qualche compromesso è sempre meglio che nessuna esecuzione... perlomeno questo è quello che da compositore posso immaginare, vista la mia esperienza simile

    • @SPscorevideos
      @SPscorevideos  4 роки тому +1

      @@alessandropalazzani Sì, sono convinto anche io che il brano sia stato concepito esclusivamente per arpa, e il piano è solo per ampliare le possibilità di esecuzione. Sarebbe comunque interessante ascoltarlo, vista appunto la cura nel trascrivere alcune parti dell'arpa che altrimenti sarebbero inefficaci al piano.
