Great price! Nicely appointed hotel, great woodwork and metalwork in the decor.
I stayed her for two weeks two years ago. Isabel and her staff were excellent and took great care of me. The location can’t be beat and my apartment was lovely.

I love this place. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Location is the very best. Apartments are extremely clean and resemble a 5* hotel in Las Vegas (only much cheaper). Windows in the bedroom are all double paned so no noise. Everything closes from 8 PM to 8 AM. Getting a good night sleep is guaranteed. 5 minute walk to Mercado 9, Tia, Parque Calderon , blue domes, flower market and JEP bank. Best thing about this place is the local popular bread, pastry and coffee shop attached to the hotel. It is off the lobby. Their door is next to the hotel concierge. Get there early for fresh bread and espresso.

This looks like it would be a good place to stay while looking for longer term more permanent apartments.

We always miss them when we leave, but they don't travel well and lots of places don't allow fur babies 😔

We loved this place when we first saw it and we booked it for another year……but be forewarned….we found the suites that opened to the main street have lovely big portesfinestres but were fairly noisy. (We Had friends who stayed in one of these and they found it noisy too). The shop keepers along the main street play their recorded music at full volume to attract customers. However, the suites in the back and sides of the building are well designed and comfortable. But they have windows but no fresh air…..they only open onto the closed courtyard. So we ended up booking elsewhere.

Thanks again for another wonderful and informative video, and thanks to Isabel for the tour of the suites. It's really beautiful. I'm looking to move out of the US in the next year or two but not sure where yet. I've been doing a lot of research and am interested in either Ecuador or Asia. My main concern about Cuenca is the weather. I've been living in the southwest for almost 40 years, Texas, New Mexico, and now Arizona. AZ is nice in the winter but the summers are really brutal with the heat and very little rain and/or cloudy days. The constant dry air and little moisture can be difficult and is unbalanced. Cuenca seems a little too cool and gloomy, especially in May through August so that would be a consideration for me. It's almost one extreme to another. Peace and harmony to both of you.

We're coming to Cuenca next week (12/4-12/11) and staying in a different Gran Hotel a few blocks away - probably the peasant version. For a moment I thought you were reviewing our hotel, which is also really pretty.

Hey Amelia and JP (any everyone else) I found your videos by searching for anything I could find on Cuenca! I am thinking about studying abroad there! I was wondering if there is a young crowd in Cuenca or is the pace of life slower there? Also any advice, tips or knowledge that anyone could share would be greatly appreciated!!!
There is a younger crowd in Cuenca in addition to the retirees. And it's a much slower pace of life than the US, but not as slow as our new pueblito Olón.
Did she say the minimum stay was 15 minutes?
That would be a short stay, lol! She said 15 nights 🙂

You need to check their website. Prices vary by length of stay and time of year that you’re visiting.
Only going to be in Cuenca for 9 days (Jan 1-9) so this one wont work for me. Anyone have any other reccomendations in el centro area? There are soooo many hotels choices it's hard to make a selection.
Hotel Victoria is really nice, but more expensive. We've heard good things about Pepe's House B&B.

When looking up this hotel apartment on Google I got this screen: 403 Forbidden, Access to this resource on the sever is denied. Something political maybe, with the word Colombia in the address.
