This is exactly why you can never trust people that say, "I can't lose weight and I don't eat anything!" That one tablespoon of ranch you put in your calorie tracker, was half a cup.
I run 7k extra every time I eat fries with mayonnaise. God damn that shit is calorie dense

@@gamecubeusit's actually around 100 calories for one tablespoon of peanut butter. 100 calories takes the average person 10 minutes of steady running to burn of. 🔥
When it says "tablespoon" you best believe I'm using that thing like a snow shovel.

Yep
I’ve bent spoons digging out peanut butter for my shakes. It is a good wake-up call.
Yup
I started buying the individual serving packets but it’s not the same as scooping out of the jar….. and you can’t get chunky peanut butter in a packet . First world problems
Peanut butter is hard-gainers' best friend.

If you ever seen eric bugenhagen, he has a video on packing in caloroes. Natures Valley granola bar, with a table spoon of peanut butter or even better nutella

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
I’m not saying that everyone *needs* to weigh out their peanut butter, or that peanut butter is somehow bad.
I’m personally obsessed with the stuff and have consumed it pretty much daily for the past 25 years.
In fact, if you DON’T like peanut butter then I’m convinced there’s something seriously psychologically wrong with you and that you should probably seek professional help.
(Unless you have a peanut allergy, in which case fair enough.)
I’m just pointing out that it IS an extremely calorie dense item, and so if you have body composition related goals you should probably be mindful of the portion sizes.
For example, a true 15 gram tablespoon of peanut butter contains roughly 100 calories.
But if your idea of “one tablespoon” is actually equal to two (not uncommon at all), and you’re having “two tablespoons” a day, that’s 200 extra calories you’re unknowingly consuming right there.
When you consider that a typical deficit for fat loss is usually around 500 calories below maintenance...
Or that a standard surplus to build muscle while minimizing fat gain is only a couple hundred above maintenance...
You can see how something like this in combination with one or two other tracking errors during the day could hurt your progress.
Excessive peanut butter alone probably won’t destroy your results, though it technically could if you really went nuts with it - pun intended...
But when it comes to those very high calorie dense foods, you do need to be conscious of the amounts (even if they’re “clean” sources) since net calorie balance is still what dictates overall fat loss/fat gain at the end of the day.
Facts, I recently started weighting how much PB I actually put on toasts. Turns out I don't use 2 tablespoons but more like 4... In my case, its a good thing since I'm bulking (started at 110lbs, now weigh 128, 5 weeks in)
I can't really eat nuts or plain cooked egg due to my eczema, can you recommend any alternative foods that is high in calories or high in protein since I am trying to gain muscle as well
Sorry but I'm one of those psychos that hate the smell, texture and taste of PB.
Had a jar in my cupboard for 7 months(given as a gift) couldn't even cope with the thought of opening it.🤑🤑🤑
I'm having trouble gaining weight. Gonna start eating more of that stuff!

@@chsimpsonkid11You must be a genius holy crap. You really got him on that one. It’s a unit of measurement smart ass. I hope you never use a cup to drink from because how could you drink from 236mL its just a volume.

Put the jar on the scale and subtract the quantity taken out
better yet, just zero the jar and see how much was taken

@@ancientautumn9987excellent idea
All you do is put the whole jar on the scale, zero out the scale, and you'll see how much you pull out. No need to do any math.
I don't normally weigh it like this - it was just for the video.
Wait until they find out the whole jar is 450-500g and you need a 1/5 😂
Grams, we stick to grams

Tablespoon = 15 grams. And this video is kind of silly anyway, because you don't need to use the scale AND the tablespoon because the tablespoon is a known volume.
@@fazdoll agree and disagree.
1tbsp corn starch and 1tbsp salt not 15g. I’m just saying this to say it’s a good rule of thumb.
@@268NA_Impreza 15 g/tablespoon is the rule of thumb for foods that are water- or oil-based (which is most completed recipes), since oil and water are close to 1g/ml. Dry ingredients are less dense. Yeah yeah, 8th grade science class...

Somehow it works both ways. People who want to lose weight realize that tiny amounts of food had more calories than they thought, while people trying to gain weight, including me, realize that we need to eat 24/7 until we feel sick to gain 1 pound.
I wish for those who "find it hard to gain weight" to be tormented in hellfire. It has been 2 weeks now, I have been on 500kcal daily, doing 15k steps every single day. The only thing keeping me alive is black coffee. My weight didn't even move a milligram.

as someone who’s trying to bulk, i’ve never been happier
Turn your cut into a bulk with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
I literally can't eat anything calorie dense and its horrid (genetic predisposition). Though, on the bright side, it means I likely absorb significantly more protein than the average person.
This dudes facial expressions are priceless!
I eat 2 huge scoops of peanut butter every day before bed
My peanut butter sandwiches are usually 3 servings. That’s 6 tablespoons. When people say they eat peanut butter to gain weight, then see them plaster a butter knife’s worth of peanut butter on their bread 😒

A tablespoon is just the biggest spoon in my drawer and a bit of denial.

PB's been a staple of mine for years. A couple of spoonfuls after each meal. I don't get overly scientific with my portions, i just eat when i feel like eating. Keep junk to a minimum and none after 6pm
Explains why my 34 serving peanut butter jar is gone a week later and I’m not cutting as much as I should be 🗿
🗿
Man this hits close to home! I put PB in my daily protein shake and it’s sad how little you can add without supercharging the calorie count.
just weight it out in grams. i got a non electric scale so I can basically turn it back so I can make the weight of the plate 0 along with anything in it which helps measure individual portions of stuff
*Peanut Butter:*
One tub a day puts that mass on big YAY! 😂
I know excessive amounts of anything is bad, but peanut butter has been my main weight loss food. Just a peanut butter and honey sandwich on one slice of full grain or wheat bread, or peanut butter and a chopped apple for my lunches. It’s way better than what I used to be eating. It’s filling too.
That's why you get the kind you can pour and just eyeball it...
I’ve heard most people actually eat more than they say they do. Their was this weight loss challenge where people had to say what they ate in a day , and then they were out on the exact daily diet that they claimed to have (measurements and all) and they actually lost weight
The exact same thing happened to me a couple of weeks back. I was eating almost 60g of peanut butter, instead of 20g.
Add powdered peanut butter (PB2), with non fat vanilla greek yogurt. Thats my go to as a PB fan who doesnt want all the extra calories
I mix my PB2 with water, sweetener, and salt. It tastes Just like the real thing if you mix it right.
good tip
A tablespoon of peanut butter for me is 3-4 times that, lol!
When you finally learn peanut butter should not be consumed by humans
Powered peanut butter friends, powdered.
If you're on the opposite end of the spectrum and are trying to get leaner, peanut butter powder, which is just PB with all the oil removed, is a great way to get extra protein and the taste of peanut butter with far fewer calories. Sometimes I use it instead of whey powder for my protein shakes.
Does it have the same bioavailability as whey though? Probably much lower as with most plant based proteins. You'd have to consume more of it atleast. But I have never heard of peanut butter as a protein alternative so I'm just speculating
Where’s the peanut butter? My ‘tablespoon’ of peanut butter is at least ten times that! 😂
I eat 600 cals worth of peanut butter or nothing. My table spoons are big as a table lol
Peanut butter keeping you big as hell

I throw massive scoops on my smoothies
How's the underside of spoon so clean?!
Even worse. I was eating More calories than I thought and still struggled to gain weight😨
A good substitute is peanut butter powder. Cuts the carbs considerably and you still get some protein. Not enough, but hey pros and cons right
Saddest day of life
Been eating 8 tablespoons without even knowing 😂
If you want to bulk eat like normal but eat PB chocolate ice cream every night. Shit is amazing and adds like 500-1000 calories to any diet easily.
1 Tablespoon of Peanut Butter… easy.. the problem is the heaping is tall as the tower of babylon..
Is peanut butter good for people who work out though? Because I absolutely hate the stuff!
Pretty sure it has quite a bit of protein in it, it’s good if you’re bulking but again. If you don’t like it, you can easily get protein from other sources. The importance isn’t the food you’re eating as long as you hit your macros and hit your calories for the day, while being satiated.
It's not mandatory. You can have any type of nuts (or don't) and you'll be fine if your overall diet is good.
Good fat and protein source
No. Full of aflatoxins and antinutrients
I've always wondered that. It has so much fat and most people consume the ones with lots of added sugar. To me it's almost like the cons outweight the pros
That’s why it’s so good on the bulk
This made me lol today. I actually weighed out my pb for the first time today
Watching this on the day I decided to have my oatmeal with peanut butter. (I fucking loved it!)
I don't have protein so I put it in a smoothie. I don't count how much maybe a half a cup or more. I stopped, but I was gaining up to five pounds a week. Not all of it was mussel, but now that I have cut a good bit was. I went from 128 to 150 bulk. Then fro 150 to 140 cut in a year.
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are my snacking Kryptonite. One sandwich the way I make them comes in at around 510 cals. I was snacking on 2 a night sometimes. Stopped and started seeing progress almost immediately. 🤣
Bro fr. Screw cake and muffins, I want a pb&j for my cheat meal!
Just bulking then😂

How much peanut butter is there?
@@blackcat9343 I use Kroger brand Private Selection Light Rye Bread (~250 cals), about 38g Kroger crunchy peanut butter (215 cals) and about 20g of Kroger strawberry or blackberry jam (45 cals).

Am I slow or is that a tea spoon ?
And he wasn't talking about peanut butter 💀
U americans measuring with 6 different types of spoons and cups XD I fcking love how difficult u make shit.
People don’t realise a table spoon is mean to be the curved part filled flush with the edge. It’s depressing.
Lmao this is actually so funny

My spoon is bigger
I’m eating 3,400 a day and my goal is 175-180lbs I’m 6’1 138-140lbs fluctuating and I started the bulk and training mid February. If I need more calories I’m gonna puke
You definitely don't need more. You will already likely be putting on a lot of fat, rather than muscle, at that calorie intake unless you are doing a crazy amount of cardio. It's not a race and it sounds like you are struggling with eating that much as is, don't worry about trying to gain weight really fast as most of it will be junk. As long as you are moving in the right direction consistently, it's fine if it's slow.
@@ImTheWinningest yeah definitely don’t want to be a lard ass. They’re not lying when they say results are slow especially natty
Ok. So I have been eating 6 table spoon instead of 2.
I just went through this recently. Very humbling.
I thought a tablespoon was a unit of volume
My tablespoon is 250g
That's real pain. I feel this everyday 😢
As someone who is always trying to bulk (hard gainer), it's good to know that even I underestimate my calorie intake. I've been dropping PB in my sandwiches like it'll never go out in style (and with the results I've gained, it won't). 😂
Thats why tablespoon, cup and such are the most stupid measurement units, I hate it when it's used in recipes
I had the opposite experience lol.
This is why Leon Edwards has the most aesthetic physique
for me it was kind of the opposite because since like the past of my entire life I thought a teaspoon was a tablespoon but then I realized I was using a teaspoon the entire because of my calorie deficit 😂😂
This is pain that I work through everyday 😭

Sean! WELCOME BACK!!
Wow I’ve been overshooting it big time-
What song is this??? I love this song.
Sean can you do a video on stomach vaccuums? Do they actually make your waist smaller?
I had to stop eating peanut butter and peanuts in general because my ability to discern weight goes out the window when eating them lol
yeah i just eat spoonfuls throughout the day in case I forget to eat that day
Thats why i dont actually eat peanut butter, i just unscrew the jar and take a whiff of it before i crunch down on some celery or some other low calorie snack.
Then you realize how small 1 whole jar is so you down 3 back to back.
This was the number 1 most depressing thing when I started understanding calories 😂
