The reason your turrets weren't firing at 31:00 was because you had them set to attack my target, but you were targeting the Venator, which was friendly. They started firing when you targeted the enemy ship.
Well... I did it. I wanted you to know, sir, that thanks to you... I just purchased the "X Bonus Box" from Steam, which includes all of the X, X2, and X3 Games + X3 Expansions. Including Albion Prelude! Now, I godda go through your video description and get all of the kick-ass mods that you're running in both your earlier Let's Play, and from this video as well. I'm completely new to the X series though, so I am worried about figuring out how everything works.. Luckily, I have your videos as a guide to show me what I need to do in order to get individual features to function properly. Thank you very much Shack. If not for your videos about the X3AP Star Wars mod, and the game in general, I would never have known about how cool it is, and never would have taken the time to buy, download, and play it. :D Wish me luck! i think the wreck that was found at the beggining of the episode was a ship that was in the knights of the old republic used by maliks sith empire which was being built by the star forge im pretty sure thats what that ship is
in all honesty, when 1.0 comes out, you should not do rebels. i know they are the good guys and everything, but in my opinion, the ships are a bit boring... besides the x-wing, a-wing, and y-wing. i suggest imperial or republic

Shack the Twilight was a G-9 Rigger light freighter. I'm excited to play this. I think I'll wait till the 1.0 version like you are. The clone trooper start looked pretty good, but I think I will have to go with the imperial officer start. The Raider class corvette looked awesome. I'm thinking the corvette with a squad of TIE Defenders would be pretty awesome. I'd also have Lamda class shuttle to pick up loot. Yeah that sounds good. Thanks Captain.
You should start your new game as the clone and use the improved races mod so you can take over sectors and make your own faction with all different types of ships Republic, CIS, etc. Then once your fleet is large enough start wars with smaller factions. Then once your fleet is very powerful go after the Rebels and Empire. And maybe make a rule to where you cant ally towards the Rebels or Empire.
When you have to restart your campaign play as the clone pilot and carve out your own empire instead of fighting for just one side. Like Create your own New Republic using the Clone Wars Era ships.

That Raider Class corvette you spanwed with in the Imperial start was from the non-canon table top game, Battlefront II made it canon. The Terran Quasar is based on the old EU design, while the Imperial one is based on the new canon SW Rebels version.
Update 9.9.9 is comming out today, so it will probably not be updated to 1.0 for a while, maybe towards summer 2018. Couldn't you start a small series until that? I really want to see this game again :)

I'll play this mod so hard once it gets to 1.0! I played a ton of X3 TC when I was younger - I didn't realy understand anything back then but that didn't detere me from dumping my hollidays into trading solar cells and exploring the galaxy until I could afford a solar power plant which I did not know how to run sustainably. Best memories :')

Son of a nerfhearder! Shack beat me on making a new X3 video. The mod author did an excellent job in making new unique and exciting SW campaigns with his latest patches. The economies and station building is still complex as hell, but it's so rewarding to figure out. However, the one thing that has me really hyped for this mod is the possibility of more BattleStar Galatica ships. The Viper fighter ships are already installed mod 9.77 and they look very sexy. This mod keeps getting better with every patch!
Awesome, I've been waiting to hear for you about this. I also love the idea off a rebel cell. However, I have not seen the terran campaign either... It is up to you. I vote either Rebel cell or Imperial commander. Maybe start off your cell with one capital ship such as a correlian corvettte if you start as rebels? :)
Are you planning to use that mod that allows races expand and conquer sectors? As for the start, the best choice seems like maybe starting with the Republic start, joining the Empire and using a mixture of Imperial and Republic ships, so that you can still get your Republic on and we have the massive swarms of Ties for the viewers, as well as having better higher tier ships for Patrons (rebel capital ships are crap), and you can complete the Terran storyline finally. I watch whatever you do though, since for all intents and purpose you have a monopoly on watching good content from this mod.

Now kids can stop crying about "WHERE'S X3AP!?!??!" for christ sake. He has said multiple times that it was getting updates, so his current save wasn't playable. I like this series a lot, but I'd rather wait so that more stuff can be modeled. More Star Wars ships, less vanilla models. And with a mod menu, he can pretty much make his previous saves. *Just be patient...*
See I'm glad he made this update video as I don't trawl for all his comments (I also don't use social media, so if he posted there I didn't know), so this was news to me. I for one am totally fine with waiting for 1.0 for two reasons, firstly it'll be cool to see him start this anew. Secondly I have been waiting myself for a rounded release as an excuse to start up ol' X3AP again (it's a game I have had a *serious* investment in hours in the past, so having a decently implemented Star Wars mod in this will give me all the more reason to get back involved in this.
Way back when he stopped making X3AP videos, there was an update that made his saved game unplayable. Then the mod author lost internet, could not fix that problem till a week later. Then after fixing that issue he just added, Shack didn't know it was playable till another few weeks later. Honestly it was in his twitter and patreon.
you should definitely start a new game after 1.0 is released. I like the idea to load your old stuff and continue from there. I would also like to see an empire campaign. The wreckage at the start is an Interdictor-class cruiser from the Jedi Civil War.
Start as the Imp commander and follow there orders for a little then turn warlord, you could roleplay the disaffected Imperial officer. Depending how you go you could team up with some rebels, opening up the rebel ships for viewers/patreons. You could then build your own production facilities for ties. Patreons could be ship or Tie D captains and the rest could be Tie, bomber, advanced, strike, etc. Would showcase the terran storyline and freeplay with your own fantastic roleplay.

I don't care what campaign you play so long as CIS ships are apart of it. I would like to see Munificents, Bulwarks, Providences, Lucrehulks and eventually a Subjugator. I feel like CIS ships are under represented on the channel despite having what I believe to be some of the coolest designs.
The ship you thought was from SWG in the beginning was definitely not. It was Starkiller's ship from TFU. And that wreck is an Old Republic Sith Capital Ship.

I'm usually a rebel guy, but the Imperial command start might be what I use when 1.0 comes out. I've been doing a neutral faction salvage fleet in my current save with what is right now 3 X-wings, a Nebulon-B and a Gallofree transport

In Karren Traviss' last planned Republic Commando book, there was supposed to be a completed cure to the clone's accelerated aging. The book was canceled due to plans LucaArts had for Sev, but then Disney bought LucasArts and that kinda dissappeared
Your X3 AP vids got me hooked on this game! I'm playing the Starwars mod 0.977 and am eating it up. I'm running fleets of Boa (Mandalorian version of the Magnetar) loaded with cheap fast fighters to smash the Xenon sectors. They are cheap and throwaway lol. Anyways I can't find me a CR90 Corellian Corvette anywhere... You wouldn't happen to know what shipyard or sector builds them would you?
You could do a merchant play through until 1.0 and then "retire" . You could basically be the pentastar alignment or something an use old clone wars tech to protect shipping lanes.
Shack as you go and fight for Imperials in battles the story will pick up. First high command calls you to their base on the moon and then when you get there the make you do classified mission stuff, like hunt stolen tech. They give your a base location and you hunt from there. This was in Imperial conscript so I have no idea if its the same for commander.
Since you have not completed the Terran story line I think you should go through it from the Imperial Conscript start. That way the recources you will have are not that different to what the base game will expect.
For a 300k special you should do a community event on the Legends server for Galaxies. Like all imperial players form a fleet and fight against the rebels in their ships.
Shack make a rebel cell with the clone campaign. I would be awesome and you could make your own backstory like he got in touch with Rex an old friend or something like that. Please make a rebel cell with the clone campaign.
Its a LAAT...its not meant to be a long distance trade its more a cargo hauler between capital ship and stations. 3000 units for the ship is reasonable for what it could grab with those clamps.
I honestly wouldn't mind either any of the factions if you had to choose. Though if you do an imperial commander let's play you should definitely try and build yourself as one of the more distinguished Imperials whose uses a bunch of Advance Flagships and fighters like the Tie Hunter and Tie Defender since you'll need advance fighters to hunt Rebel scum.
losing the exposure you're providing would certainly be a bad thing, but if you can't do a long term lets play without being able to use the new stuff, you could do update spotlights showcasing the new stuff.
Hey shack wanted to say that I think that when you start your series it would be cool for you to use some ships later in your game from the old republic era, The Valor class cruiser, hammerhead, etc. anyway just something I thought would be cool and look forward to seeing what you do

Shack if you start the next let's play with everything you had before don't forget the Interdictor you were going to capture. Also it would be cool if the Venator had a mass deploy mode that opens the top hanger and anything docked comes out all at once or just deploys faster. Does it have access to the blue beam weapon from the bottom hanger?
You could sell everything from your old save, see how many credits you have, start a new game and cheat in your credits from the last save. You could also see what your standings were with the Races of X3 and script that in as well. You would have to re-buy your ships but still worth noting. I upgraded from 0.977a to 0.9.8 and tried to play my old save. I noticed a lot of my ships got screwed up and my old save was playable, but not very enjoyable. I guess I'll just start a new game from sctratch. I'll have to rebuild my factory stations again but o well. My learning curve is over now, I know what TL class ships I like and hate, I know what types of fighters I love and hate and restarting won't be that hard.
39:00 if you want to know what's on the other side of the stargate, get a malp. buy that I mean get the cheapest ship you can afford, dock it with your ships, and if you feel that the other side of a gate will kill you send the malp ship and see if you loose signal
The Z-95 is iconic, but it was outclassed in almost every way by the ARC-170, at least I think that's the case. Also, can you make me a fighter or something shack, I don`t care about being a capital ship or a Captain, just being in the game would really make my day. You should also be an Imperial commander but once you`ve got a decent fleet, maybe you could carve out an Empire as a warlord like Zsinj or Thrawn
I'd love to see an Imperial Let's Play. I'm sorry but the Imperial faction's ships look so much cooler. I know we all we rooting for the rebels in Rogue One but when you saw the Imperial ships and new trooper models don't tell me you didn't go "Oh mah god that's awesome!"

You should totally do the Mandalorian start. Become Mandalore and bring back the Mandalorian Empire!!!

when you do the campaign you should do it stelarsis style with your intros, but have it be captains logs
Now kids can stop crying about "WHERE'S X3AP!?!??!" for christ sake. He has said multiple times that it was getting updates, so his current save wasn't playable. I like this series a lot, but I'd rather wait so that more stuff can be modeled. More Star Wars ships, less vanilla models. And with a mod menu, he can pretty much make his previous saves.

See I'm glad he made this update video as I don't trawl for all his comments (I also don't use social media, so if he posted there I didn't know), so this was news to me. I for one am totally fine with waiting for 1.0 for two reasons, firstly it'll be cool to see him start this anew. Secondly I have been waiting myself for a rounded release as an excuse to start up ol' X3AP again (it's a game I have had a *serious* investment in hours in the past, so having a decently implemented Star Wars mod in this will give me all the more reason to get back involved in this.
HC C his save was playable... just not updated
Way back when he stopped making X3AP videos, there was an update that made his saved game unplayable. Then the mod author lost internet, could not fix that problem till a week later. Then after fixing that issue he just added, Shack didn't know it was playable till another few weeks later. Honestly it was in his twitter and patreon.

The wreckage at the start is an Interdictor-class cruiser from the Jedi Civil War.
You start off with the Twilight and a T-16 skyhopper, last time I checked. I would LOVE to see you play the merchant and build the TF.
Start as the Imp commander and follow there orders for a little then turn warlord, you could roleplay the disaffected Imperial officer. Depending how you go you could team up with some rebels, opening up the rebel ships for viewers/patreons. You could then build your own production facilities for ties. Patreons could be ship or Tie D captains and the rest could be Tie, bomber, advanced, strike, etc. Would showcase the terran storyline and freeplay with your own fantastic roleplay.

I don't care what campaign you play so long as CIS ships are apart of it. I would like to see Munificents, Bulwarks, Providences, Lucrehulks and eventually a Subjugator. I feel like CIS ships are under represented on the channel despite having what I believe to be some of the coolest designs.
Can't wait for the Reboot of the series!! Me personally I would go Clone Era ships if its fleshed out enough
The ship you thought was from SWG in the beginning was definitely not. It was Starkiller's ship from TFU. And that wreck is an Old Republic Sith Capital Ship.
the best series i've loved to watch every episode. i'm thinking. (because i also know how slow the start can be) maybe use cheats to get up to where you feel comfortable with a modest start around where you left off?

I'm usually a rebel guy, but the Imperial command start might be what I use when 1.0 comes out. I've been doing a neutral faction salvage fleet in my current save with what is right now 3 X-wings, a Nebulon-B and a Gallofree transport
I mentioned this in your last stream, but you were mid-battle so you probably missed it. In Karren Traviss' last planned Republic Commando book, there was supposed to be a completed cure to the clone's accelerated aging. The book was canceled due to plans LucaArts had for Sev, but then Disney bought LucasArts and that kinda dissappeared
Go back to the Rebel Campaign in 1.0 and spawn in all of your units again. That's what I would love to see also the clone wars Idea is a fun one.

Your X3 AP vids got me hooked on this game! I'm playing the Starwars mod 0.977 and am eating it up. I'm running fleets of Boa (Mandalorian version of the Magnetar) loaded with cheap fast fighters to smash the Xenon sectors. They are cheap and throwaway lol. Anyways I can't find me a CR90 Corellian Corvette anywhere... You wouldn't happen to know what shipyard or sector builds them would you?
You could do a merchant play through until 1.0 and then "retire" . You could basically be the pentastar alignment or something an use old clone wars tech to protect shipping lanes.
Shack as you go and fight for Imperials in battles the story will pick up. First high command calls you to their base on the moon and then when you get there the make you do classified mission stuff, like hunt stolen tech. They give your a base location and you hunt from there. This was in Imperial conscript so I have no idea if its the same for commander.

Since you have not completed the Terran story line I think you should go through it from the Imperial Conscript start. That way the recources you will have are not that different to what the base game will expect.
For a 300k special you should do a community event on the Legends server for Galaxies. Like all imperial players form a fleet and fight against the rebels in their ships.
Shack make a rebel cell with the clone campaign. I would be awesome and you could make your own backstory like he got in touch with Rex an old friend or something like that. Please make a rebel cell with the clone campaign.
Its a LAAT...its not meant to be a long distance trade its more a cargo hauler between capital ship and stations. 3000 units for the ship is reasonable for what it could grab with those clamps.
that ship is from the pre-republic era...its a sith command ship.
I honestly wouldn't mind either any of the factions if you had to choose. Though if you do an imperial commander let's play you should definitely try and build yourself as one of the more distinguished Imperials whose uses a bunch of Advance Flagships and fighters like the Tie Hunter and Tie Defender since you'll need advance fighters to hunt Rebel scum.
losing the exposure you're providing would certainly be a bad thing, but if you can't do a long term lets play without being able to use the new stuff, you could do update spotlights showcasing the new stuff.
Hey shack wanted to say that I think that when you start your series it would be cool for you to use some ships later in your game from the old republic era, The Valor class cruiser, hammerhead, etc. anyway just something I thought would be cool and look forward to seeing what you do

Shack, the turrets weren't firing much due to being set to protect ship. Had they been set to Attack ship, they would have fired at maximum range.

The reason the venator wasn''t firing at 30:00 was because you had your other venator targeted and it was set to "fire at my taget".
I know it's typical, but I really wanna see an imperial start from tie fighter pilot and working your way up the ranks. Or try and create the Republic survivor fleet. Or >.> A mandalorian fleet taking the galaxy over
That ship shown in the menu isn't from Galaxies. Its the 'hero' ship from the Force Unleased. Named Rogue Shadow.
Shack if you start the next let's play with everything you had before don't forget the Interdictor you were going to capture.
Also it would be cool if the Venator had a mass deploy mode that opens the top hanger and anything docked comes out all at once or just deploys faster. Does it have access to the blue beam weapon from the bottom hanger?

You could sell everything from your old save, see how many credits you have, start a new game and cheat in your credits from the last save. You could also see what your standings were with the Races of X3 and script that in as well. You would have to re-buy your ships but still worth noting. I upgraded from 0.977a to 0.9.8 and tried to play my old save. I noticed a lot of my ships got screwed up and my old save was playable, but not very enjoyable. I guess I'll just start a new game from sctratch. I'll have to rebuild my factory stations again but o well. My learning curve is over now, I know what TL class ships I like and hate, I know what types of fighters I love and hate and restarting won't be that hard.
Shack go look at your X3 Star Trek campaign. Why? Because you are infinitely more confident than 2 years ago! And it's beautiful!
39:00 if you want to know what's on the other side of the stargate, get a malp. buy that I mean get the cheapest ship you can afford, dock it with your ships, and if you feel that the other side of a gate will kill you send the malp ship and see if you loose signal

The Z-95 is iconic, but it was outclassed in almost every way by the ARC-170, at least I think that's the case. Also, can you make me a fighter or something shack, I don`t care about being a capital ship or a Captain, just being in the game would really make my day. You should also be an Imperial commander but once you`ve got a decent fleet, maybe you could carve out an Empire as a warlord like Zsinj or Thrawn

I'd love to see an Imperial Let's Play. I'm sorry but the Imperial faction's ships look so much cooler. I know we all we rooting for the rebels in Rogue One but when you saw the Imperial ships and new trooper models don't tell me you didn't go "Oh mah god that's awesome!"
Hey shack, I would just like to point out that the turrets aren't broken. You had them set to "attack my target" and then deselected the enemy cruiser, they had no target to shoot at. The firing arcs on the venator aren't that either to be honest.
