There's two big differences. #1 size and screen. The pro can flip and move the screen. But more importantly the second difference. #2 is the pro display screen is actually of a higher quality. The premium model flickers on lowest brightness setting. But the pro model doesn't flicker at any setting. I had both of them and settled on the pro. The lcd display on the pro model is better.
At least you can take the Pro model with you when you leave the car. That alone is worth the extra $100. And it looks like the screen to body ratio is better too. I'm getting one for my Jeep Wrangler for sure now.
I was about to land an s8 pro, but went with the s8 regular due to dashboard size. I made a mockup of the screen size and it just wasnt gonna work out in my 05 civic. I got the wheel control, camera, and amp and front camera. I've been satisfied with the amp in the s8 so far, and haven't used the amp. I really wanted a physical knob, the atoto add on knob does a decent job, but would prefer an in-unit physical knob or two. The capacitive buttons kinda suck in an automotive environment. The camera could be smaller (or more discrete), but love the view and feature. I'm about to make my second s8 purchase and go for the pro this time into an altima. I also got the Atoto component speakers, no complaints, but I'm not buying them again.
@@RussSmith yeah I wish the rear camera was more discreet as well 😩 Atoto just released a new flagship model which will be a step up from the S8 and is now on android 13, you can check it out here www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D5R1SNBL
I've had the Ultra last couple years. Loved it other then audio quality especially with aftermarket system but that's always your loss with android HU. Mine got stuck in a boot loop and still been trying to find a fix. Support has not given me a exact solution and I can't find anyone that has gone through the same issues. Hopefully I can test bench it and get it working again. Very enjoyable head unit
@@Rawrkee yeah tried a handful of suggestions. However very uncomfortable in my vehicle to access the reset and SD card slot behind the 10in floating screen. It'll be easier to work on pulled out of the vehicle. Make sure you warranties on validated after purchase just in case. They give you 30 days if purchased from Amazon 90 days if direct from the site
@@zimizi yeah that would be possible depending on your dashboard setup. You’d need to be able to access the sides of the radio while installed. Even if you could sink it either back in, you’d lose the ability to tilt it forward and backward which probably isn’t a big deal. On top of that, the mounting screws to securely install the display are from up top and so you wouldn’t be able to access them unless you created a way to do so
@@Rawrkee its a gt86, im looking forward to install it next weekend potentially. not looking forward to fiddle with cables tho... do i need some kind of harness? i never had a stereo that wasnt plug n play. i also added a rear view camera, also not looking forward to install that xD.
7:14 Thank You! I've spent months trying to find a video where it shows how far these units stick out from the dash!

Have you got the pro yet? What are your thoughts on it?

@@SNWxGaming have you tried sticking a needle into the reset port and holding it for awhile?

How do I put a sim card I can't find anybody saying anything about it or how it's done?
poke the little circle with a "sim puller" tool. it pops out
Hey man, i like your videos, glad to see i'm the first to view your video.
Hope you have great success with your channel.
Thanks you bro!
cant we just insert the s8 pro deeper to not have it stick out so much?
