While they say in the US, "don't buy beach front, climate change will mean rising oceans". Those same politicians and celebrities are buying us beach front like it's going out of style and heavily invest even in Hawaii and the beach front coastal areas. We see Dubai heavily investing in the oceans not rising by building these mega beach living palms. So whose right? All one has to do is look at old waterlines and see. The statue of liberty's waterline is exactly where it was when the French gifted it to the United States. This is impressive imo.
That clock tower can be as tall as it wants, doesn't have an ounce of the character of Big Ben
That describes pretty much all of these vanity projects. There is a reason that the empire state building is still always used when talking about heights of skyscrapers and big ben when talking about clock towers.

they stopped it because the saudis failed to build the 1 kilometer high skyscraper. If Saudi was to build the Jeddah skyscraper, Dubai would greenlight the construction of the Creek tower
Simply amazing how far this city has come in 20 years.
Yes it still amazes me daily when I drive around. Looks nothing like 1995 when I arrived here. Highest building in the Middle East at that time the Dubai World Trade Center at 33 floors you could see from anywhere. Now you can not see it at all unless you stand next to it.

Great video. The only thing I do not think makes sense that was mentioned is that Palm Jebel Ali will have good views of Burj Khalifa. It is 30 KM or more away from it. You likely can see it far away, maybe a few days a year when the sky is perfectly clear.

there is no way in hell that palm jebel ali is completed with the next 10 years, let alone in 2027. dubai's economic crisis are not over and will hold a lid over this palm island for a long time. you can see how much longer it took for palm jumeirah to be built. at one point it was uncertain whether it will be finished at all. and then there is the disaster called world islands which is essentially the same as the palm islands only not in the shape of a palm. that one was also supposed to be completed by now, yet not even 20% is finished.
Please do your homework better than that … Have you looked at Makkah clock tower its still the tallest clock tower in the world 601 meters high !!!
