korg needs to get jon hopkins to make some videos selling these things. his kexp performance (specifically open eye signal) 100% sold me on the kaoss pad back in the day. just unreal sound design and audio processing, which is actually a part of his signature sound
That is the best new fx system in a long time I’ve had all the kaosspads kp3 of the mini even a kaoscilator nothing compares this thing does things that no other fx can daws can’t funk with it
@@Wild_D The Rumble of Ancient Times is just slightly bigger and has a battery compartment in the rear. Also the Korg has plenty of airspace in the case for there to be one.
a real groveboox would be unbelievable. there is no good modern groovebox option with great sampling and audio processing/mangling like granular and spectral and formant/frequency shifting/vocoding/ffb or bandpass arrays, great internal synthesis engines, modern complex sequencing with parameter locks, and resampling with the ability to arrange songs linearly by recording "clip" launch actions. elektron isnt going to do it, although that would be the best option potentially. yamaha could revive the rs7000 for the moden age. but like the roland sh-4d, the digitakt, the polyend stuff, the blackbox, even the deluge or the octatrack are in many ways more limited than old, real grooveboxes like the emx-1 and the rs7000 the electribe revisions are nothing like the old electribes, but if they made a modern version, it would sell like crazy. imagine if they teamed up with tascam to make like a 4 track cassette recorder with a built in groovebox tied to it, sort of like an "analog" op1 with the sequencing power of a hapax and the synth engine of like a digitone or a syntakt & the fx processing of the korg radias
@@christdolphin69 dude we are speaking the same language here…honestly, put the emx and the esx in the same box, some modern stock sounds plus sampling. Keep everything else the same, 8 bars, tube drivin output, touchpad arp, with the fader. The only think I was is more resolution on the sequencer for off grid stuff. That’s my dream groovebox…I just wanna jam
I feel like there's a HUGE middle ground between bare board mini-jack devices and $999 MPC-like FX boxes. The KP3 was a nice size and had an awesome display/touchpad. It's still a great MIDI controller. It's just super outdated and has a horrible noise floor. But COME ON people would LOVE a legit Kaoss Pad that was like an updated KP3 with a cool XY MIDI interface and quality effects like a Strymon or Eventide H9.
I would have thought (and hoped) that we in 2024 had got rid of all the horrible menu-diving gear with a lot of non-intuitive user interfaces! You will need to use this daily or at least weekly to remember all those short-cuts and key-combos. If you dream of a piece of gear that you can put away on the shelf and use for a specific setup 3 months later then you are setting yourself up for an hour of frustrations! This products seems like menu-diving from hell. It almost have all the operations put into one knob!! This will soon end up on the shelf and stay there! This is not what you are looking for. This product is inadequate and will not get you to where you are going, but it will secure KORG's next billion dollars. 👍🙂
@@spinkler According to the chart, the unit accepts program changes from 0-99. I presume this is to tell it to switch fx presets. Can you tell me - do the pc messages cycle through the 100 FACTORY presets, or the 100 USER ones? Thx
@@schmapps1 That's rather strange to see in the manual, I didn't notice that. The user presets in the NTS-3 are simply stored after the factory ones; they're all accessed via the same method. So my Hapax, when sending CC values of 0-127, will actually cycle through the top 128 presets. Unless I'm misremembering - it was late when I was working on this last night. My experience, though, is that you'll get access to all of the factory presets plus a good amount of user defined ones. I'm guessing the "True Number" line in the specification reflects this, but I'm pretty new to the more complex facets of MIDI CC. Hope this helps! 😊
Hey Korg what about a bluetooth pairing connection device next time? Imagine being able to control your music (from phone and hardware) with no cables?!?
$170 for a desktop effects box that you can import effects made by the user community and plug in manufacturers as well? This is probably the biggest biggest bang per buck EZ has ever shown on his channel.
Nice ... but the list of characterless (toyish) gear keeps growing. IMO a portable 6 channel 3.5mm battery powered mixer of the same size would have been much more interesting
I assembled mine earlier today. The boards were easier to break apart than were for the NTS-1. Meanwhile, when every instruction encountered for the NTS-3 kept saying "AC POWERRRRR! AC POWERRRRR!" I thought: "Surely you jest", and tried applying power with the same Mophie 27AH battery pack that works for the NTS-1. But the four times I tried using it with the NTS-3, it went all all southern rebel on me: it WOULD power up for up to about 10 seconds and then "Aww HELL NAWWWW"!🤦🏻♂️😸😸 So I caved 🙄 and gave it an AC-to 5VDC power source and it does seem happier with that. And have been having some serious FUN ever since! 😀

Please! Make a bigger "pro" version of this with full size midi jacks, 1/4" I/o, and maybe CV out for the XY pad! That would be an instant buy for me

microKORG 2 when?
When to buy in Europe, Germany, France?
Please, make tracker like Dirtywave M8
I have this, no idea why Korg keeps making these small devices that don’t have battery options. So frustrating
You could just build one into it pretty easily. I mean like just plug three double a batteries into it would probably work
Tape a small usb battery to the bottom
Adding batts to a product ads points of failure and shipping restrictions.
@@Wild_D option, they did battery slots before

Been waiting for this since the start of the year and Thomann still hasn't had for order in Europe. Curses. Curses I say!!!!
Why do we get these half finished products? Give it a proper case and knobs. Sick of this nonsense.
Until ten minutes ago I didn't know this was a thing. Now it's all I want
I just want to say how cool it is seeing KORG using a Dirtywave M8 in this NTS-3 overview! Can't wait to get the new Kaoss Pad!! 🤘🐀

Love to see EZBOT shredding!
Could this be connected to my mixer that would control all my inputs to add these effects to the whole song?
Yes, just connect the audio out on the NTS-3 to the returns and the audio in on it to the sends...
Exxelent littel FX unit!! Would love if someone (KORG) made it into a eurorack version with CV in for the X/Y and so on... that would be amazing.

It would be so good if you could record motion parameters for the xy pad and overlay those…
New elrctribe plz
It’s to be hoped your after sales service is better than has been my experience. Although I doubt it as it was only two months ago.
I dont know how to Bring it to Work with Push 3...
Crazy powerful w my modular setup
Bring to us the OASYS 2 AT synth!!! 🔥🔥🔥
WoW
I wonder how many Jon Hopkins is going to buy.
Does this accept midi-in, in terms of changing presets and triggering the effects from an outside external midi controller?
Yes it does; Just set it up to do this with my Hapax this evening. The MIDI implementation can be found in the manual.
@@spinkler Great! Thank you

So glad they didn't waste space on a battery compartment
how much?
Under 200 🤩
Can it generate Midi CC?
So is it good or what? ❤️
Still no word an when these are actually available?
Available on Amazon NOW! Just checked yesterday 😀
I got mine last month in the USA.
I’ve had this preordered for months and at perfect circuit are they available now
I preordered it in May from Sweetwater and they’re saying I have to wait until September. They initially told me June 😢
Just got mine and fuck is it awesome
@@Tripwelleverday Hell yeah! I was told earlier today that mine will be on the way tomorrow. Looking forward to it. Happy jamming

If you wanna sell these to guitarists get Nels Cline in to do a demo

I'm the only one listening a lot of background noise on this machine? please let me know.
It is not that new... loopop had review of this device about 3 months ago.
It's somewhat new, I have mine but I've only had it a few weeks from when it released via the preorder.
They reviewed it quite a bit before you could even buy one though.
