Lorrie, I have watched quite a few crafting tutorials. I like this flip book, but more importantly, I wanted to let you know you are a great teacher. ( I have been teaching for 29 years...not artsy/craftsy things but another field ) 1.) You had your example to show people. 2)You had all your supplies on hand and ready to show. 3). Your directions are clear. 4) You repeat in a way that does not sound condescending but clarifying. 5.) You showed alternative ways of doing things. 6) Your pacing was great and focused w/o chit chat. 7) You showed the model again for inspiration. Just fantastic. Thank you. I think your video would be a great tutorial on how to do tutorials. =) . This is my first time to see one of your videos, but I looked at how many followers you have and so obviously others like them too. I just wanted to take the time to compliment your teaching style
She has paid you a wonderful compliment by her response. I am a retired teacher and she is absolutely correct. Too often I feel frustrated because there are so many tutorials on UA-cam that spend too much time "winging it", talking, and talking, before they actually begin the lesson. It's a compliment to your ability & organization that she mentioned you could do a tutorial for others.
I'm another teacher, and I agree with Pamela's assessment. You do such a good job teaching concepts rather than merely demonstrating a process! Please keep making these wonderful videos. You are a blessing in my life.
Yes she’s a fabulous teacher!! Very giving from the heart and a sweet, kind person! I took her class last year (2018) at the Cricut event! Thanks Lorrie!! 😘 P.S. wow this is an old video!! Lol
YES, a great teacher. AND! for those of us who have never heard, seen, or thought of Flip Books, it would be enlightening to give a full presentation of the book itself. You do a quick run-though at the beginning, but you are presenting as if to people who have some understanding of FLIP BOOKS...Why are they exciting? Who uses them? For what and whom? Just take an extra minute to run through this while you are showing us what is actually in your Flip Book. At the Beginning of the presentation. Thanks!
This is brilliant! I've looked everywhere for a cohesive and well explained "how to" book construction. You made it easy to follow and understand! THANK YOU. You are an excellent teacher!
i watched this once the other day, then last night i got out my Valentines box. i was so impressed with your tutorial, i remembered it all! i put together a whole little book! i made my own envelopes, but had i used pre-maid, the process would have been even quicker. (but i'll take the time coz i like the homemade look). however, that was just a sample for myself to work out any kinks like not lining the pages up before securing the back. i have one kinda wonky but that's what these tests are for! will be making this for all the youth at church for Valentines. thanks again!
Whipped one of these up in under two hours thanks to your brilliant idea--altered lots to suit my needs, but this platform is uber versatile and I actually did a shout out and project share to promote the idea. Great share TY so very much!
You are so easy to understand! You hit on the details. Plus you tell the "why" you do things. Great class. You should be a teacher. Thank you. One problem. I want to sing "Down in the Valley" now. Lol
I Really LOVE this!!! I have seen a lot of systems, but in my opinion, this is one has the best options for continued originality and yet, is the simplest guideline to follow. The finished design element looks professional, complex, and expensive; but allows for a great outcome on any level, beginner through advanced! Thanks for an Outstanding Job!!
Thank you so much 😊 Lorie, I absolutely love 💕 this idea 💡....I shall watch it through again; so I can reproduce it for my two great grandchildren, they’re going to love 💕 having them to play with.....xx Mags
I know this video is years old but l was looking for a Flipbook to create and came across yours which is absolutely perfect for me. l know it is achievable and will be fun to make. Thank you!
Lorrie, I loved this tutorial...it was well explained giving reasons why the choices were made. Instructions were clear and concise....no waffle....Can't wait to have a go at making this for a birthday gift. Thanks again
Love this idea. I’m going to definitely try it. You did a great job explaining the process. Keep up the good work! I will be watching for more of your videos.
Very creative. So pretty. You inspire me so I am going to try. I am just starting out but I won’t give up until I accomplish a book. Thanks so much for sharing. Bless you🌸🌸🌸
I REALLY like your style of envelope book! I love the two side, pink on one side paper. I'm going to make one for my sister as soon as I get done with the 3 projects I'm doing currently, oh and my Christmas cards. I think after seeing your style when I get one completely I'll want to make many more. Great gift! Thanks for the tips & sharing! 💜
This is perfect timing to watch your wonderful tutorial Lorrie! I'm in the process of planning a small keepsake album for someone and I really found your instruction great. The finished book is really cute. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Lorrie! I loved this so much I have made two. I used premade rainbow envelopes for the first one. One envelope got a bit wonky but I was able to take it out and re glue. Yours is so pretty I made another, making my own envelopes like you did. I also used an envelope for the front cover, turned backwards. So cute!
Oooo ooo I learned from Carol Tinson and mine is done differently than this or the chain way. So I'm interested in this too. And I thank you so much for the tip on how to score if we have nothing but the butter knife and a ruler. It helps in so many ways for so many scoring efforts
This was really great. I have never seen this type of card demonstrated before this video. Great job communicating the instructions in a way that is easy to understand and then repeat.
Loved this video.. one of my favorite projects, mini albums of every sort. Will be looking forward to seeing more of your tutorials. Thanks for sharing.
I made this and it turned out so cute I did make a slight change to where the front cover would be a little sturdy so I just used an envelope and turned it the other way for the front & back covers so that way it had some more sturdiness I also put card stock In each envelope to get give it even more sturdiness..... I love this I'm going to make some more today they're so addicting and easy especially if you have a envelope punch board and you can use a lot of your stock up i also just left it at 12" so I would have 1" fold over on the front & back covers makes a nice wider boarder...ty for sharing🥰❣⚘
Thank you for sharing. You make it seem very simple to make. Unfortunately, we don't have card stock here in Dubai. However, you have given me an idea to make something similar for my finances. I can save some amount in each envelope on a monthly basis. Like, one envelope for utility, one for entertainment, one for maintenance, etc.
Yes! You are a wonderful teacher! I love this and can’t wait to make one. Thanks for the score board alternatives. I have so much stuff and have been avoiding getting yet another piece but I need crisp folds.
loved the video..Lots of information without taking up too much time. I enjoy all the artist I have seen on UA-cam but there are times when I don'r have the time for a long video. Thanks
Wow🤔. I really like this idea. I bought a truckload of envelope and the method I learned, the envelopes were already tearing before I could finish the album. 😂 I set it aside NEVER REALLY interested in finishing it. 😃 I am going to try this. I am EXCITED ABOUT THIS ONE. Thank you oh clever one. 🤣😂
wow ,,, thanks a million for sharing this with everyone,, it seems to me like something more simple and easy /quick to make... definitely a DRCS idea as Shane Winters was saying..
