A week long Circle Songs workshop with Bobby, Dave and Joey in 2018 was the best experience of my life.
Ahhh so happy to hear this. I'm doing on that starts in two days!!!
And just like that, Bobby takes you... in some strange trance, a weird travel in between reality and fantasy... in an awaken dream where your mind rides on the back of a butterfly visiting flowers in the meadow of your own guts... suddenly the sun shines brighter... and life, freed from burden of tasks, duties and anger, became a magical moment of peaceful heaven...
Thanks Bobby... for the drug free trip! ❤
😅💯🎖️❤️🌺🌸🌺

Спасибо, похоже это суть Боба.
What a description! Beautiful 🙏💜🌱🧘♀️
Everytime i see and hear Bobby, i just wanna hug him.

Abrazarlo, besarlo y no soltarlo! :D
He bringes us the profound listening we need...Bless him!❤
I've never seen anything like this in my 62 years on earth. He is truly a musical genius.
🤗❤️
"Close your eyes my friends, and imagine that you are sitting out in the grasslands of Africa, and there is a pathway nearby. A path walked for centuries by musicians of tribes of Africa, singing their songs walking through the plains, spreading happiness and music through the land as they pass by. It is just past dusk and the stars are shining bright. A gentle breeze blows past and you hear a stream in the distance. As each tribe passes with their own music, the evening is filled with sounds of joy, of nature, of the oneness of all humans and all tribes. Now listen to this music from this beautiful African grassland path."
Beautiful
Haha...I love how the band is having fun. I would laugh too; it's hilarious and entertaining all at once.
Didn't think I'd end up watching all 50 minutes, but wow. Inspiring
I'm a huge fan of vocal improvisation and mr McFerrin is one of the best improvisers of our time. the way he's able to lead and keep introducing and layering different and unique rhythms and melodies is truly incredible.
I know right? Do you know anybody else that works like this? It took me so long to find him.
Yes it's so true. It's a amazing artist. Love him ❣️
_ IMO, he is *the very best vocal improviser of *all time.
13:33 how does he and the others know what to do?
Your music always makes me so incredibly happy! Thanks, Bobby.
The tone of this video going from upbeat and carefree to having several songs that felt very solemn and full of grief or even discomfort was such an experience
28:25 especially sounding like a funeral or even the experience of losing someone in that moment it makes me feel this sense of dread i can't really put into words
Love ❤
I enjoy it so very much. Taste of my music brought me here. Beautiful things i've heard so far on my 27th years old.
Qué manera tan maravillosa de hacer participar al publico en el concierto, simplemente maravilloso.....
I've always wanted to hear the world through Bobby's ears! I saw him in the late 1980s and he's mesmerizing. During the show, he sat on the edge of the stage, asked the kids to laugh, and then improvised on the sounds of their laughter! Loved it! Loved him! Unique. Thank you for your music, Bobby. ❤🎵🎵
_ Yes, he seems to be an ultimate improviser (with extreme musicality and virtuosity), and can improvise on just about anything. Even Yo Yo Ma said he was scared of Bobby's improvisation.
I’m 71 and I remember Don’t Worry Be Happy, I thought it was different but now I’m REALLY Enjoying i his music and want to hear and see more of it. 🎶❤️🎶
25:20 start ~ wow~!!! ohoh~ ohoh~
19:40 and 21:52 - 23:31 and 37:45 - 39:13
Muy hermoso…!!!
Noooooo - did he memorise a whole load of Hungarian or am I hearing wrong? Loving Bobby McFerrin's work.
❤
great fun
so, is this amazing show improvisation, from start to the end?
Yes, it is! The titles of the compositions were given afterwards, by Bobby. :)
@@AcappellaJazzation that is wonderful. Thank you for the clarification.
@@AcappellaJazzation Great You don't know how much I needed this information! Can you tell me how you knew about that? (about the titles given afterwards)
@@morganeconessa7567 the recorded material was sent to Bobby and his agency after the video was edited by the venue's experts, and he gave the titles and his consent to the release.
Some of these folks look like they're trying not to shit their pants. :/
I don't possess the ability to express what that did to me. Blown away.
I love that feeling, it's also probably why music was necessary, to extend outside the frontiers of our language
❤️
to sing together along is the max of communion
and the holy one!
I'm so happy i can say that a music genius lives in my generation
💯💐
He’s still jamming too!
@@joshbutler8147 is he!? I look for new stuff now and then, but i never find it
Yes, it's wonderful when this happens!❤❤❤
This is really actually spiritual...
Exactly! You just said a mouthful ❤
Hypnotic, magical, joyful, soul inspiring, lovely and loving. Thank you all!
ЛЮБЯЩИЙ, написано в его глазах.
Genius, just genius. nothing more, nothing less. All of them.
Amazing, just met you guys, I just WOW, confirming that human voice is the most beautiful instrument in the world
I never heard of him but I just love what he is doing just love it great 👍💜💗
Mr McFerrin truly is marvel of this world.
Really!!!
What I love about bobby mcferrin is that he's a genuine musical genius, and he also doesn't take himself too seriously. He likes to joke around and have fun even when performing a serious show, like swapping mics for fun and joking about it in the middle of singing, or having the choir mimic increasingly insane and incoherent sounds.
nice to put a smile on just listen to acapella in 2020! Thanks, Bobby and company!
🥇🌼🤗
This is total magic.......Wow!
would love to experience this live
This man is brilliant
I will be experiencing the Circlesong School next week, as a present to myself for my 50th birthday on Tuesday. It was an impulsive decision, made when I wanted to go to a concert on a single day and August 16 is my birthday so I decided I would go to one of the shows during the week advertised as aug 15-19. I discovered that it was a week long affair and kind of like a seminar and didn't even think about it before putting my money down for student pass for the whole thing, including a 24 hour unbroken Circlesong session on Thursday/Friday. I'm crying right now as I listen to this and almost can't believe I am so fortunate that I am going to get to participate in something like this. It almost feels like fate.
A McFerrin concert is a bucket list item for me, and this is looking like it me a transformative experience, which is really something I need right now. The fact that it is happening on the week of my birthday is either fate or the happiest accident I could have hoped for. If it had been at any other time, I probably would not have been as ready to sign up for this event more than a 6 hour drive from where I live, but because of the timing, I felt like it was meant to be. I have no idea what to expect, but I suspect that it is likely to be wonderful. I
So, how was it ? I guess you must have enjoyed it !
I'd love to hear more about that!
2 years later and the people are still waiting on a follow up comment man! How was it!?

IT WAS PHENOMENAL!! I ended up having a lot of anxiety about going because the people I was supposed to stay with during the trip ended up cancelling on me because their son got Covid the night before I was supposed to leave. The sudden change in plans kind of threw me for a loop and I almost didn't go, as I wasn't sure I wanted to pay for a hotel last minute and stay alone. I stressed out about it for the first day I should have been there and It took someone I knew only from facebook talking me through leaving my house on the phone and for the first hour or two of my drive from LA. I missed the first day but as soon as I arrived I had an immediate ,sense of belonging. It felt like coming home.
One of the other participants described the first few days experience as "humility bootcamp" while everyone learned to get over their fear of being judged and be brave enough to make choices. I felt better about having missed that first day or so, because I have been doing that sort of thing long enough that I wasn't needing to be brought out of my shell so much and fully embraced the remainder of it and it was exactly what I needed to find myself again after having been lost for a while. I really found my stride in the wee hours of the 24 hour unbroken circlesong event when others were flagging a little, as I have been a vampire most of my life.
It truly was transformative. I highly recommend attending at least a circlesongs event if you are so inclined or even curious as that alone is 100% a unique experience worth having. The week-long seminar/school is aimed at teaching others how to lead one themselves, and I was lucky to have found someone starting a weekly circlesong close by my home in LA to cement what I learned when I got back. I haven't quite gotten the nerve to start leading one myself now that she has gone back to Brazil, but I am thinking about it...
Mr. McFerrin is an amazing energy to be near and it was a fantastic experience overall! If I have the money I might do it again, if offered....

Wonderful and beautiful! An amazing dedication to your mother!
can sit listening to this as gift to " us" and be so renewing~> Always a treasure.
Bobby Mcferren and Rob Scalon should collaborate on something. A man with every voice and a man with every instrument.
I guess Michael Winslow belongs in this troupe as well but lets start with a first step.
Who enjoy more, public or choir? Wonderful concert.
fun
I was searching for the history of synthersizers. I am stuck here. Someone help me!

This man touched my soul many times with his music until the point i sat in tears listening to it.
He isnt making music, he truly is music in the soul.
He’s gonna live forever
I hope so!
We’ve Got the pain Of the GODS 49:49
You have to stay here
Don’t run away
You have to tell them who they are ❤️
This is insanely magical… 51:35 is mind blowing
he only needs other people as long as he can play them like instruments,
otherwise he is lost in his own musicverse ❤️
Can we have bobby, and his son, and Jacob collier do a trio.
i can listen to this for a long time ... I find it very relaxing
Do anyone know if the songs was named before or after the show? I don't understand how they could have names before if the show is a complete improvisation
I think they cut up the video afterwards and name the parts.
@@nicsimpson9749 Thanks

Unbelievable! Soul stirring!
U can tell Bobby is not the same thx Bobby u will always b on my mind until I die
What you mean not the same?
@@MrGreenAKAguci00 I'm not sure what mvll's intent was, but the main difference I'm noticing as I hop around on videos is that Bobby's certainly not getting any younger. It's a dreadful thought, but he's not going to be able to make music forever. We can't but enjoy it while he's around, and continue his work when after he's gone.
Beautiful

Невероятен
Да, даже очень 🤗💯
Imagine the way you feel when you hear Bobby McFerrin vocalizing, the pure and clean feeling that rings through you that just wipes away trouble and fear. I like to think that that's what Bobby feels like all the time.
