I was paging through marketplace and saw a sweet xlt for sale in ny. I noticed it has a trash can on it, look and the ad says new Todd Clyne can as selling point...
It staggers the pistons so you can put the cylinder on. It also keeps the piston from rocking causing damage to the base gasket. Just save your hyfax ends when you trim them and you are set to go next time.
@@ryanbenbow-zx2sd yup. I’ve done lots of them. It will stagger the pistons so you can squeeze the size on each as you slide the mono block down. To this day I still have 2 pieces of hyfax “just in case”
We all know your a master of building engines . Me first hand.😊. Love your content brother, can't wait to see the decals . What great builds again. Keep going Todd . We love it.cheers brother. 🍻🍻🍻! Trenton included.
I’ve started to use a flat head micro screwdriver to seat the circlips. Works a lot better than using the small needle nose pliers that I’ve done in the past.
I hope you put the opening of the circlip in 12 or 6 o'clock position otherwise there is a chance they will come out when running. I used to be a Polaris mechanic back in them days and this was the rule of thumb due to failures I have seen in this area.
Awesome content lately. I had a set of v8 pistons that had tight wrist pins. The machinest/eng8ne builder that balanced my rotating assembly stated you dont ever want this. He brushed or as he stated "cleaned" the piston pin bores so they would freely slide in. I thought his opinion on the matter sure made sense. Im no expert just thought id share. Thanks for the awesome content again!
Great work Todd! I really appreciate the mono block build. Hoping to do one myself soon. I'm a couple videos behind but I would request some explanation on the oil pump setup if you haven't already. Cheers!
Finally got to see them heads be used and didn't use them lol sad....i use to take a layer of head gasket off boosted psi by 20 if i remember correctly
It’s the pto side piston that had that problem my 97 600 monoblock has the extra oil line for the pto and the factory reinforced crank . Helps hold together with triple pipes they say
Love this video series. I have a 1994 XLT 580 triple and had a heck of a time doing the top end with that mono lock. My question to you is this. My manifold is cracked and I repaired it last season with JB Weld but it seems to have cracked so I was wondering if I need to grind it all off and start over or can I just add some more over what I have already done?
Is it me or does the monoblock piston port XLT/XCR fujis sound better with pipes and stingers than the VES XCR 800s/other reed inducted 680s etc? Nice video for reference in the future too
Looks awesome, maybe it was already mentioned and i missed it but what process did you go thru to get the cases and cylinder cleaned up that good? Would love mine to look like that when i rebuild it
Wont be able to feel your thumbs for week when you work with a doo 800 ho clips haha.. Built a fusion 700 for a buddy he got a weisco kit was my 1st time using there kit an was impressed with the fitment an overall quality so all the sh!t talkers about weisco are either idiots or haven't compared many brands or built many
When are you gonna start working on the actually good triples? Srx 700’s and Machz 800’s lol.. xlt/xcr and storms are junk. The last couple years of the xcr 800 was a monster otherwise all the Polaris strippers were gutless pigs
I own a 95 xcr 600, 98 800 storm, 98 700 srx, and a 02 tcat 1000. My favorite is my xcr 600. 0 issues. Easy on gas, fast enough, easy to work on. Absolutely nothing wrong with polaris triples, son.

Should be an awesome ride when it's done

hey man awsome job ! also the videos are not long dont worry im sure all of us would watch 40 minute videos of your knowledge!
I appreciate that!
Pro tip sweat the wrist pin will slide in
Use a piece of hyfax under the center piston on both sides during cylinder install. That’s how we did it at the sport center years ago.
Great idea
It staggers the pistons so you can put the cylinder on. It also keeps the piston from rocking causing damage to the base gasket. Just save your hyfax ends when you trim them and you are set to go next time.

Really enjoying the longer videos and the content.
Sounds good thanks
When i do motors and the piston pins are tight I have a small ball hone and make a couple passes on the pin bore and in she goes!!
Excellent idea thanks
25mm over? Holy shit, you went BIG BORE! 🤣🤣
😂😂 .25 I ment
Engine is looking great! 😎👍
Thanks 👍

Some Awesome videos Todd. Really enjoy watching these motor builds and all the sleds coming together amazing work by you and your son🍻
Thanks
Cooling middle cylinder might be issue maybe need bigger jets on carburator for that
Possibly
Отлично 👍 как всегда !! Спасибо за видео .

Also monoblocks are a pain in the ass to put pistons in LOL...the 1 I did many years ago I had to have a second set of hands...couldn't do it myself

What’s the common issue with oil not getting to center cylinder on the XLT triple engine?

Where did you purchase the new Dorman hardware? Do you have part numbers by chance ?

I'm not sure on that.

the water pump has broken
can you show how to renovate

So when installing your circlipse the opening in reference to a clock where do you set them up 12, 3, 6, 9.?
About 1
Right on!
Thanks
Let me ask you what stage port job did you go with? And what does that cost these days for the average dude? Thanks Todd you sir are a rock Star!
Just a very mild trail port. 400 plus
No lube on the pin going into the piston?
Wouldn't hurt
I get though I don't think you were to rough
