I get how you are saying to center the design on the shirt, my problem is how far to put the design down from the top....I've watched you and it's still confusing to me. Can you do a video on how to place them from the top of the shirt and not fly by when doing it, some of us have to watch it slow to understand it...I do love watching your videos though
Ordered guides for me and my sister and just got them today👍🏼 Excited to put this good info and your handy dandy tool to good use! Thanks again for another very helpful video😁
I love your videos thank you so much for this, I really want to start using my cricut maker and design T shirts and other things to help my husband support us he works two FT jobs and we still barely make it by
Thank you for this video, I bought that ruler from you and did 14 shirts but was not too sure of how to use it. I watched like 10 of your video’s yo figure it out. Very helpful though. Thank you again. 😊❤️
Hi good video tks but I have a order and need to put the image on the left side of the shirt how would I center that any tricks you dont mind sharing. Tks

I have the 9x9 easy press. What is the best size of t-shirt guide should I get? It looks like the large t shirts are about 20 inches across. I want one that would be usable for different sizes.
I watched your video of the anchor and flowers to learn how to do multi colors. Thanks. I want to know, if I dont have a heat press on steroids like you have...its a compliment....and all I have is my household iron, what do your recommend for settings and time?
Question. How would you do it if you were doing it on a robe ? Could u use it for other items ? Like a hat ? If you could let me know please thank you !
What temperature and time do you use for regular Siser htv? And, do you heat set it a 2nd time, too? Thank you so much for the great tutorials; they are a tremendous help!
I have the Zeny 12x15 press am I getting the 12” or 15” ruler? Just made my first shirt and it’s off center. I’m not paying $40 for the Tee Square thing.
So what you’re saying is centering HTV is so easy, so much so, that so as long as we use the ruler, we’ll be so happy with the results. With a professional look, not just some so so look. So do I have it right so I’m not so confused?
You can use whatever method works for you. I have purchased a lot of tools to center over the years and this is what works best for me. A lot of other people love it too!
Is your tshirt guide the length of three fingers? I am just getting into this business and need this guide badly. LoL. I am about to go to your website. Will you ever travel to do workshops?
Hi there .iam just curious Aren't you supposed to get the moisture out of the shirts by heating once before you. Add the vinyl? Also the procedure you are using to line the design isn't really accurate since the sides and. Bottom of the shirts aren't getting measured you have only measured the top. Thank You
for the videos, I prepress off camera. as far as the design being center, if your top is center and straight, and your shirt is on your pallet straight, the your design should be straight, I've made thousands this way and never had an issue with them not being straight. : )
Maybe I am thinking about this incorrectly but isn't that guide simply finding the center of the heat press? The key is to have the T-shirt perfectly centered on the press, this tool doesn't help you do that. If the shirt is perfectly centered then the tool is helpful but alone it does not guarantee proper placement at all. It seems that the trick of folding the shirt in half, lining up collar and shoulder seams would be much more accurate for finding the center. It is also a one step process as opposed to centering the tshirt on the press and then, once it is on the press separately finding the center again with the tool.
so you're heating for 15 seconds with the clear part, then another 15 seconds without, correct? I'm very new at this and was under the impression it was just once. yikes! are they going to fall off?
If your heat and pressure is correct, one press is usually good enough if the directions of your vinyl says to press only once. But most people usually press a second time for 10-15 seconds after the clear carrier is removed to press the vinyl deeper into the fabric (you should see the shirt thread grooves in the vinyl). But I have recently read advice from many t-shirt makers that vinyl cracking and peeling can occur if you overheat the vinyl either by pressing too long or too high of temperature or both, so if you have experienced cracking or peeling of the vinyl, some recommend to not press a second time (unless directed by manufacturer) or to just press a second time for less time like 5-10 seconds. The overheating can cause the vinyl to become brittle and as well as the adhesive. I use to press 15 then an additional 10 after removing the clear backing, now I only press once or I do a second press for just 5 seconds, because I have had a couple vinyl on shirts start to crack a little after 6 months and many washes in cold water and dried in medium heat while turned inside out. But on my heat press, the temperature is over 305, closer to 320 in some areas (cheap China made heat press) when I check with an infrared temperature gun I bought on Amazon for $17. Since I have only been doing this for a year with my current heat press, I am willing to redo the vinyl on any of my customers' shirts if the vinyl starts to peel off or crack horribly...IF they followed the care instructions I gave them.
Candace Pikey fold your shirt in half, shoulder to shoulder seam. press it while folded and you will have a line to show your middle. this has always worked for me.
I use currently a regular ruler. My press is 15" wide by 12" wide. The ruler gives me 2 (of my) fingers from the edge of my bottom plate. I double check my seam length that hang off the sides are the same but it works for me. I also press the top 1/3 of the shirt is pressed so I know the seams at the top of the shirt are even.
A helpful hint: stop saying "so" so often. Listen to the playback on your videos. It would be a big improvement in your presentation. I know you are not aware you are doing it. I have the same quirky things I say and don't realize until I listen to a playback. I don't do you tube videos but have a lot of experience doing live video.

Collette Newman i have the same size did you ever get an answer on which one to use?
What sizes design, do you use for each shirt.. mens? womans? youth? etc.
How far down from the neck line?
Billiejean Coleman about 3fingers down. 10.5 on most adults and 9 on youth sizes.
Can you further explain how far from the neckline designs should go whether it be a crew neck, v-neck, youth, etc. Also, is that tool 4 inches wide?
yes the tool is 4 in. on a crew neck I start 3 in down from the neck and V-neck about 1 in
Thanks so much!
Same for youth?
youth is closer 2 in for youth medium and large and 1 in for ys
