This review almost felt like I was running through the adventure myself. The enthusiasm of the presenter and the detail with which he highlighted the product, are making wish I had this box right now. I probably own over 40 orc miniatures and have absolutely no need for this whatsoever. But this video made it look so awesome I have to own it.
I love the variety in these epic encounter kits. It's nice to be able throw some flavor on the board instead of here is another base stat orc/kobold. I hope that steamforged keeps this line going as I am enjoying building up my collection of baddies for my adventurers to beat up on. Looking forward to your Frost giant preview.
You may want to rebase Tilly on to a mega-gargantuan-sized disk. Her current base, that towel, doesn't align to the tabletop grid very well. Now that I got that bad humor out of my system, I'm gonna buy that Hall of the Orc King set. Look how much textural details are on those minis! Wow.
Sounds really cool! Thanks for sharing this. I don't have time for really long sessions with my 2 sons party so something like this would be great fun.
Great review, and cute cat bud! I really like the idea of these sets and hope they do well! I have a question for you Theo . When you are painting your minis do you do anything special with your bases? Recently I have been just using bags of green tea super glued onto the bases to kind of make it look like grass/weeds/ other vegetation. I was just curious
Oh very nice! No I’ve never taken the time to make cool bases for my minis, but it’s something I’d do if I had a special PC mini I planned to use a lot! Thanks, Joseph! -Theo
@@TheGallantGoblin thanks for answering Theo! Truthfully most of mine are bare based right now other than coloring all of my models from my Warhammer night goblins army, my 40k sisters of battle army, and my 40k5 Night Lords army the same shade of blue to be able to quickly tell mine apart but I have made some really cool bases for some
I think I'm gonna buy this one mostly for the orc on a bear. Probably gonna paint each bear as a different type of bear for example polar bear, brown bear, black bear and panda bear? lol
@@TheGallantGoblin I just found out about Epic Encounters and I wanna buy them all. BUT the only store in my country that sells them doesn't have this one.
Please I'm asking for some help can anyone tell me if this works for the same size as the whiz kids orcs? Don't want to spend all that money just to find out that they don't fit in the war band I'm making. Any help would be appreciated I'm also curious about the size of the goblin pack please specify which one you guys are answering thank you.
I came across this game because I ply GodTear with my son and some friends. Is this a standalone encounter? Or part of a larger system/story? Is this also a more simplified version of a DnD adventure? Or more like Gloomhaven? Sorry if my references don’t make sense. Just trying to see if this is something I can jump into with just 1-3 boxes, or do I need more? This was a great video review btw. It made me catch attention to this game. Great work!
Are these OK for a first try of dnd? Because the starter sets have so much to do. Could I just run this quest set. Never played but just ordered the core book set.
Yeah, I think they're great for a first time GM. Just give them the free D&D starter rules online. It's definitely good practice before running one of the official starter sets which are much more involved. -Theo
Ok Theo,I guess I'll sing this for you " what kind of magic should I use" maybe the magic to getting those Orc,it better not chasing me drunk...... good days, sir
@@Steamforged the kobolds are just a little too cartoony to fit in with the rest of mine. Your Red Dragon is the best Dragon mini I've seen but i can't justify buying it when i already have 2 reds that are the same size
Personally, I was disappointed in the figures. They are decently sculpted if you like the "heroic" scale and gaudy style that is popular these days, but I think they look far too over-sized when sitting on the table next to standard D&D minis. And their bases are too large. Orcs are medium size creatures, should have 25mm bases, but these bases are larger. They are too large for the squares of the maps supplied in the box. If you care about standard base sizes, keep this in mind.

But do you have ice orcs, also there is no such things as too many minis

Oh Shawn, we've got so many plans for more boxes :D
I was just looking at picking up Hordes Trollkin to fill out Orcs for my DnD games. This set is clearly the better purchase. Thanks for the upload!
Oh great! Glad we were able to help! -Theo
I absolutely love this integrated adventure product. What a great idea. I will definitely be buying this when I run Rime of the Frost Maiden.
When I saw Theo petting Tilly all I could think of was an evil super villain in a spinny chair with a lap cat.
These Epic Encounter boxes look awesome! Thanks for the great review!
Thank you, Paul! -Theo
A fight with drunken orcs during a feast will be EPIC!
Right? Seems so fun! -Theo
I would love to see someone incorperate this and the Frost Giant set into Rime of the Frost Maiden. That would be awesome!

My custom campaign is set in the mountains and about killing orcs... it’s perfect.
OMG THEO!! I was unprepared for the cuteness! 🥰
Tilly cat!!! -Theo
Good job! I’m definitely gonna grab this to play with my friends!
Thanks, Braydon! Hope you enjoy it! -Theo
Will definitely be dropping this in when I get around to running Rime of the Frost Maiden
Me too!
Just recieved my kobold queen and red dragon sets.
Pretty dang amazing.
Gonna grabbing these as well!
Love your reviews Theo!
Excellent! Let me know how your adventures go with them! And many thanks! I appreciate that! -Theo
Those orc minis are just perfect!
Damn, I don't want to paint anymore orc minis, but those are pretty sweet.
Hehe, the painting struggle never ends! -Theo
Wow, that is a really good price for everything you’re getting, plus... I love Orcs and can always find a place for more. Great as always guys
I read elsewhere that these minis are at 32mm scale, which is larger than the 28mm scale used by D&D/Pathfinder.
I like this set Theo seriously considering grabbing these, great job on this review! Oh, it was nice to see Tilly make an appearance also!
love the vids man, would have never known about this if not for your channel
Great! Glad we could be of service! -Theo
That orog’s weapon is a flail, not a morningstar.
Thanks for this review. The set and maps look awesome.

Based on your video, I’ve ordered this Epic Encounter box - these Orcs are just too damn cool to miss out on! 🤩

The kobolds are great. Red PVC has a tendency to look a little flat on camera. The blue here is 👌
