The military is intertwined in Hawaiian culture. From it's voyaging discoverers, the British Captain Cook until now. Mahalo for sharing.

Kudos to you guys for promoting the history of the islands. Mahalo to Mr Ford for taking time to give us this history lesson. I had uncles who fought in the Pacific. As a kid I loved hearing about their time in the Pacific. The youth programs at the museum sound great. I think my next trip back will be longer than my usual two weeks. Thank you also for the pillbox hikes!

Your videos make me so excited. I just got back from beautiful Kauai and I’ve officially made it my personal goal to visit all of the big 4. 1/4 done! My plan is that I’ll go to an island a year during university, rn I’m in high school but I shall save up. I regret not buying the itinerary bcuz I’m sure it would’ve told us that if the north shore is raining, go to Poipu. But I will learn from my mistake and buy all of the itineraries. Also I am so blessed to live on the pacific coast of Canada, it makes it much easier to get to Hawaii as I can simply leave from either Vancouver or Seattle.

You have a good goal, check out all the islands. We do share a lot of good advice, in our opinion, in our itineraries. Come back soon!

the yearly big wave surfing competitions are under the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. competition is called when the waves get big enough at three north shore beaches.

There is a legal way to get to the dish at Stairway to Heaven. The Haiku Stairs is illegal, and not recommended. But if one simply must get to the dish, there is a very difficult hike that can be done up the back side. Do NOT attempt it, though, unless you are in good physical shape, are fully prepared and are an accomplished hiker. It’s extremely difficult.
