How about taxing Iwi and their companies they have billions of dollars worth of companies that pay no tax
Show the proof, and that they don't deliver to communities more then any other organisation or.... keep it shut.
@@matakitaki1 do some research into it you will find it more rewarding
I can't help cringing whenever I hear Willis bang on about cutting spending. Why did she give away a $2.9 billion handout to her mortgaged landlord mates? She's a two-faced liar.
Because the banks run the country not her
Cut funding of inter islander ferry doesn't improve infustrature. Sacking lots of people only leads to people migrating. So much of the plan is rubbish.
Labour only borrowed during covid to keep economic stimulus going and a absolute great strategy towards it as well , you give 3 billion away to landlords stupid, then borrow 12 billion for a terribly thought out tax cuts ,that only the rich receives and the dysfunctional reason begin or the nation last tax cut 14 years ago really
Exactly, sack thousands to give tax cuts that mean millions to the wealthiest, and a few dollars a week for most, while you pretend that covid borrowing was unnecessary. Now we cant apparently fund jobs for newly qualified nurses, no budget for them
I agree with Nicola, You can only play with the cards you are dealt. The last govt left this nations finances in a complete mess. I cannot see how a sane, critical thinking person wouldn't approve of this budget result.
If your focus is on her being a cow or what ever your opinion is on the person & not the work she is doing, you are no more helpful to this country than Arderns statement to *tell on your neighbours & submit their *thought crimes to SIS, was.
Get a grip NZ, we should not be divided by race, ideology or woke behaviour. Why are so many people focused on their *feelings & not on the *Facts.
That fact of the matter is, that she hasn't been dealt any cards and that she is by her perception reshuffled the cards. To put everyone in the same basket is the same dellusion as no diversification on investing.
What facts? A generic overview with zero detail. No substance. Your average 1st year accountancy grad could deliver that rubbish.
The facts are that she delivered a budget with more debt required than any of grant Robertson’s except the Covid year, while National at the time urged them to borrow more…
How easterly people forget how bad the country was in previous National government and why Labour was voted in. This is typical of National.
Yeah, pretend covid isn’t the reason the coffers are drained, bet you took you govt assistance packages, and many big companies abused them ridiculously
Productivity is certainly an all encompassing problem for New Zealand over the past three decades. Lack of productivity means declining domestically owned businesses, declining tax revenue, declining training of staff, declining ownership of houses, declining opportunities for our citizens, increased immigration of peoples who will mostly bring less skills than the increasing numbers of migrants to Australia and elsewhere in this world of opportunities.
Employers are currently under significant pressures and many would prefer robots to humans as our current employment laws discourage hiring staff and building small businesses, which are still New Zealand’s largest employer of peoples and source of tax revenues on many levels.
A strong focus on simplifying NZ employment law in favour of NZ owned small to medium businesses owners will significantly improve employment, growth, tax revenue and our ability to retain our best and brightest.
Perhaps more cost cutting could be in store for The Interisland Ferries???
Better infrastructure - like the ferries that have been cancelled?
'Fiscally neutral" meaning we wish to deliver nothing?
The aim is to deliver nothing but tax cuts for the rich that's basically the only aim. And privatisation while nobody is watching..
What goes down, must come back up but first, the downward trend must be stopped - neautral.
@@Not_all_as_it_seems No thats just rubbish, what downward trend are you talking about?
Hey...what about investing public housing...low economic...continuing...
In every ministerial portfolio there is waste sadly enough, it's our you mitigate your strategy to productivity, Willis is out of depth, gas lighting does not work, plan for the future
This is great to hear!
There is still a HUGE amount of wasteful spending.
They need to look at *local* government too.
Auckland Council alone has 10,000 people being paid over $100k each!
That's *$1 billion* right there!
Ministry of Womens Affairs, Human Wrongs Commission, Waitangi Tribunal - they should all be axed.
The Maori seats - axe them too. Maori can participate in politics the same way that everyone else does.
They don't need the patronising paternalistic "training wheels" of the Maori seats.
Pick 1,000 women at random from NZ and ask them "have you personally been helped by the Women's Affairs ministry in the last 12 months?" I'll bet every one of them would say "no" (apart from any actually employed there).
We need to upgrade our productivity
And increase our exports (A LOT)
This 'interview' was so soft it was like watching someone being fed candy floss. There's no way I'll be subscribing to NBR for in-depth 'analysis' based on their performance here.
Agree, this wasn't a neutral interview, it was a promotion video by a supporting organisation.
Great, get the lazy ones out to work for a good pay. Cut the benefit to half that of the average wage, in line with their education.
Yeah maga
The problem is there are no jobs, where are you living, thousands more being made redundant, immigrant exploitation everywhere, low wages.Have you ever been out of work,I have lost 5 jobs, all through SUPPOSEDLY being better for the FUTURE.of Corporate greed.
As regards education - I agree, its very important.
And I hope the maori children at their total immersion schools are up to standard.
Meaning? that you know the difference?
Stop throwing tax payers money at Maori
Or landlords that don't need the money as they already have investment properties.
Your comment screams white middle aged New Zealander
Give Maori there stolen land back and stop the perpetual leases that impoverish Maoriland owners who are living in cars or on the streets 🤔
@@stephenlennon7369na if we did that it might be close to fair and the rich white folk wouldn't like that.....
That is one of the dumbest comments anyone can make, yet it is similar to immigration programmes that you care not to mention and what benefits to the community it makes where Maori contribute to those very taxes but you don't want to give them any. Despite what others have said where the current economy is off the back of stolen resources that Maori actually still own!
So pakehas government can carry on with their criminal offending
?
I can't stand this woman. She's your typical mouthpiece who couches all information as a marketing tool to promote political agendas and personal career objectives. That interview was little more than a scripted advertising piece that did nothing but regurgitate old and tired political spin.
Cut the benefits
Yea just cut the job seeker benefit from people who can't work and have been deemed by a doctor to be too sick to work... Great plan
@dswee3005 Why not? Not my fault they made bad decisions in their lives
So what about all the millions the Richlisters stash away by Trusts,Tax avoidable?you obviously live by double standards
@@alistermacpherson7120 No entity is tax avoidable. Individuals, trusts, incorporated businesses and charities have tax commitments. A rich lister simply has their income and assets distributed in such a way as to minimise their tax burden but they still pay tax one way or another. Fair enough I say. A wealthy individual will deploy their wealth far more efficiently and productively than any government.
Your typical kneejerk reaction from the uninformed or simpletons of the world.
what about the waste you are giving to the health research council needs to go on real research not fairy tale crap
New Zealand is leading health research in many medical fields (& many other fields) & investment in research IS A PRIME producer of future technologies & industries. Just because you think they are 'Fairy Tale Crap' does not make them so. Even 'Bad' research can result in good discoveries.
They have not really cut many public servants - its all been smoke and mirrors from the govt departments CEOS.
They need to go thought every department line by line.
I hope David Seymour and ACT are working on this
Sack the woke board of governors all over the country. Kiwi rail and transpower for a start. Cut all the woke BS and get back to competent hires and get the civil service to do their jobs. Picton ferry on the rocks while the union who can't maintain their own ships complains that they need a brand new mega ship. Give me a break. Enough of this BS new zealanders want our country back from these wokester idiots. Changes are coming.
Woke; (adjective) meaning; Being aware & concerned about social injustices & discrimination. Use; "He was concerned there were injustices in the workforce making him woke."
Therefore by definition being anti-woke is to support or not caring about social injustices thereby a potential bigot, racist or sexist individual. Are you Anti-woke?
I agree that the best person should be hired but "Sacking the woke board" is to support outdated ideas & promote potential criminal activities of discriminatory individuals.
People once didn't even get looked at for positions based on race or gender, are you promoting that? Being woke aware has changed the world for better, NOT worse.
Silly cow
Nothing silly about cutting wasteful spending. There's a huge amount of wasteful spending needing to be cut.
Cutting that spending means more money for taxpayers.
Nothing silly about that.
An amazing literary contribution.
Is that the limit of your education?
How about taxing Iwi and their companies they have billions of dollars worth of companies that pay no tax
Your evidence for this is ?????
@@nzer57 are you there out of touch you don’t know
And charities and churches too. Let them claim back like the rest of us do.
