I can't help cringing whenever I hear Willis bang on about cutting spending. Why did she give away a $2.9 billion handout to her mortgaged landlord mates? She's a two-faced liar.

Cut funding of inter islander ferry doesn't improve infustrature. Sacking lots of people only leads to people migrating. So much of the plan is rubbish.

Labour only borrowed during covid to keep economic stimulus going and a absolute great strategy towards it as well , you give 3 billion away to landlords stupid, then borrow 12 billion for a terribly thought out tax cuts ,that only the rich receives and the dysfunctional reason begin or the nation last tax cut 14 years ago really

Exactly, sack thousands to give tax cuts that mean millions to the wealthiest, and a few dollars a week for most, while you pretend that covid borrowing was unnecessary. Now we cant apparently fund jobs for newly qualified nurses, no budget for them

I agree with Nicola, You can only play with the cards you are dealt. The last govt left this nations finances in a complete mess. I cannot see how a sane, critical thinking person wouldn't approve of this budget result.
If your focus is on her being a cow or what ever your opinion is on the person & not the work she is doing, you are no more helpful to this country than Arderns statement to *tell on your neighbours & submit their *thought crimes to SIS, was.
Get a grip NZ, we should not be divided by race, ideology or woke behaviour. Why are so many people focused on their *feelings & not on the *Facts.

    • @matakitaki1

That fact of the matter is, that she hasn't been dealt any cards and that she is by her perception reshuffled the cards. To put everyone in the same basket is the same dellusion as no diversification on investing.

Productivity is certainly an all encompassing problem for New Zealand over the past three decades. Lack of productivity means declining domestically owned businesses, declining tax revenue, declining training of staff, declining ownership of houses, declining opportunities for our citizens, increased immigration of peoples who will mostly bring less skills than the increasing numbers of migrants to Australia and elsewhere in this world of opportunities.
Employers are currently under significant pressures and many would prefer robots to humans as our current employment laws discourage hiring staff and building small businesses, which are still New Zealand’s largest employer of peoples and source of tax revenues on many levels.
A strong focus on simplifying NZ employment law in favour of NZ owned small to medium businesses owners will significantly improve employment, growth, tax revenue and our ability to retain our best and brightest.

    This is great to hear!
There is still a HUGE amount of wasteful spending.
They need to look at *local* government too.
Auckland Council alone has 10,000 people being paid over $100k each!
    That's *$1 billion* right there!
Ministry of Womens Affairs, Human Wrongs Commission, Waitangi Tribunal - they should all be axed.
The Maori seats - axe them too. Maori can participate in politics the same way that everyone else does.
They don't need the patronising paternalistic "training wheels" of the Maori seats.
Pick 1,000 women at random from NZ and ask them "have you personally been helped by the Women's Affairs ministry in the last 12 months?" I'll bet every one of them would say "no" (apart from any actually employed there).

@@alistermacpherson7120 No entity is tax avoidable. Individuals, trusts, incorporated businesses and charities have tax commitments. A rich lister simply has their income and assets distributed in such a way as to minimise their tax burden but they still pay tax one way or another. Fair enough I say. A wealthy individual will deploy their wealth far more efficiently and productively than any government.

Woke; (adjective) meaning; Being aware & concerned about social injustices & discrimination. Use; "He was concerned there were injustices in the workforce making him woke."
Therefore by definition being anti-woke is to support or not caring about social injustices thereby a potential bigot, racist or sexist individual. Are you Anti-woke?
I agree that the best person should be hired but "Sacking the woke board" is to support outdated ideas & promote potential criminal activities of discriminatory individuals.
People once didn't even get looked at for positions based on race or gender, are you promoting that? Being woke aware has changed the world for better, NOT worse.
