The greatest guitar player you've never heard of right here... If this is your first hearing of him, go listen to his solo albums, Cosmosquad, or Edwin Dare (for the prog metal fans). This dude is the real deal!
This is never coming off my board. Man it rocks! Works fantastically with other pedals, too. Ladies and gentlemen, Tim Jauernig really hit this one out of the ballpark!
Just got one - what's stunning is how full yet focused the low end is - it almost defies physics. You retain all the note definition, and it cleans up with the volume. Just the right amount of compression - it's very polished sounding. The boost toggle gives you two very distinct sounding gain stages - one Page and one EVH. Oh, and that's just the left half of the pedal.
Jeff,You are the best and most musical guitarist i heard so far,i bump into Cosmosquad live on you tube, and man,i was blown away, what an interesting and exciting concert, pure joy!best regards, keep on rockin, you are truly amazing musician and composer. The pedal sound amazing!!!
Jeff, I saw you in concert with the Alan Parsons Project in Los Angeles a week and a half ago. You are amazing! Not only are you one of the best guitarists I've ever seen, you are a great performer too, so charismatic! Your singing was fantastic too!
I like the pedal, and my ears can hear the difference,I'm impressed. It does help to create a decent pre sound prior to the amplifier, but the output tubes do change the sound too, the old Telefunken EL34's are Creamy and smooth, the modern Russian made Sovtec EL34's are harsh and harmonically inferior in Marshalls which are soft biased these days. The Sovtecs will sound ok at loungeroom volumes when the pedal does the clipping and the amp is running at lower pre valve clip levels, but good output valves with a good pedal running at high levels is still tonally best, if very loud. Also with good output valves you will get a far greater dynamic range, so swopping from clear to heavily clipped will sound sweet and smooth. Ideally rip out those Sovtecs save up for some NOS quality tubes like Sylvania,Old Mullard,RFT,Telefunken or NOS Philips and then add the pedal (which I like) A good pedal will never make an amplifier with crap output valves great only better than it was.So yes, in a backline situation it will help but I still prefer one's own custom set up amplifier, even if some young roadie type has to help lug it!
Hey Jeff can u do a video with your Kollmanation pedal thru a Line6 and a Les Paul that's what would like to hear before I purchase ur pedal . Thank u from Chicago Ralph
Very nice demo, Jeff. Great sounds... Easy operation. My Line 6 Vetta 2 w/Pod and modeling guitars will obtain these sounds. But I'm more than certain it doesn't have the hefty price tags, nor require a BSCS to operate. Well done. It's a must have for any studio or live application. Kudos.
Good afternoon, I need your advice please. I use a Bogner Exctacy head ( I am sure you are familiar with it). The Blue channel is great but the red channel needs a bit more gain/sustain and, in my opinion, needs to be more transparent, it sound fuzzy. What do you recomend as an OD pedal over the blue channel?
This is a very nice overdrive pedal but it is really unfair to compare it with a TS. TS pedals give your sound a mid touch (if you lack it) and may come very handy when you are playing a strat through a fender amp which both don' t have very pronounced mid ranges. A Marshall however has a nice mid touch and if you boost those mids further with a TS the sound becomes distant and kinda mushy. And first and foremost the best way to use a TS is to turn the level up and keep the gain around 9 o' clock over an already driven amp. Otherwise it might sound like shit. 800 usd for a TS is waaaay too much btw since it is a very simple pedal. Having said all these stuff i want to emphasize that i really liked Kollmanation.
Tube Screamers Over rated.. I hated them when they came out (poor mans distortion box) Love the angry and less pissed off tones from this pedal. Sounds immaculate!
I've been contemplating ATOMIC AMPLIFIRE or POSITIVE GRID BIAS amp. I can't help but wonder if I should save my $ and run this little devil in front of my ROADSTER :-)
I have one of these on my board and damn. It kicks the shit out of every drive pedal I own. Pair it with an octave pedal and you will successfully piss off your neighbors
I had a similar one built for me called the Cornhole with a similar concept in mind and unsurprisingly, the components the tubescreamer nuts like to rave about were the ones I like the least on the breadboard challenge.
You're one of my very favourite guitarrist, man! I love the way you play, your sound, your creativity. Amazing!
The Pickups are Suhr SSV humbucker (Low output)
in the bridge and the fender John Cruz designed pickups for the middle and neck.
