Continental Xynotal Trail tires - Epic Evo 7

- Tried out the Continental Xynotal Trail tires with trail casing and enduro compound. There tires felt great and are similar to the Maxxis DHRII tires I had on the Ripmo. Rolling is good and grip is good.
One thing that is noticeable once you hit the trail is the tires dampening. The trails are smoother and noise is suppressed. You then notice that the sidewalks are stiff yet forgiving, so when you lean on them in corners, they don’t fold up. Cornering is actually better, but you have to learn to trust the tires. The knobs are bigger and sturdier than the DHRII as they are similar to the Assegai side knobs.
The visual and feel check makes me think these tires will be a great do it all set. I ran DHR/Rekon’s at the bike parks for a year before going Assegai/DHRII and I think this is right in the middle. I am going to run these on the Ripmo as the primary Trail set and put it on the Epic when I need to.
Great review. Would you call these good for a trail bike? I have a Pivot switchblade and want to try them out I am looking for speed and grip. I do a bit of climbing here on the front range in Colorado but also Rocky going down
I was wondering how you like the xynotal as a front tire?I am having a hard time deciding between the xynotal and kryptotal for a front tire.

I like it but i think if you want more bite up front then go with the Kryptotal up front. I balance it out with lower pressure in the front vs the rear. Running 21psi and 24psi so far. playing around with it to see what I like. If I didn't have the burly Argatol/Krytotal Re on another set, I would go Kryp FR and Xy out rear. This is similar to the famous DHF/DHRII combo, IMO.
