You have to leave the planet and come back for the suit colors to load properly. Also Glacio is fantastic for research. All those white pyramid things have research pods in them.
tip for next time, get a beacon,containers and air filters, use 1 jetpack at a time to build straight up into the air with a pole as much as you can and once at the top place a beacon ( i usually just build a slope staircase kinda thing for when i don't have jetpack. You should also place 2-3 beacons With different colors ie green, yellow, red at different heights to reduce chances of a cloud covering one and a sense of how far away you are) side note: This WILL NOT show up if you are on the opposite side of the world depending on your world but can be seen from over half of it so if you can't find them you obv know you are not close and need to travel a while.
