I like how Apple's and Google's campus/HQ really reflects their design ideology and axiom on their product/services. Apple's are very unified and closely encapsulated in a loop while Google's are very diversified and are like a bazaar with many unrelated things that are somewhat related to each other.
You can just go there by yourself and hanging around there . I didn’t enter Google campuses offices inside because they were closed at that time because of omicron (pandemic) . But as far I know they are open . One my friend visited GooglePlex like two weeks ago so she asked one Googler to show her the office but I didn’t know do they allow to enter into the building..
Looks very cool, but I'm still very grateful I have my own quiet office, where I can focus and be productive. I worked in open space with conference rooms surrounded with glass for not even a month and it was a hell for me.
I was not particularly impressed with the rendered mockup of the new campus. It looked kind of strange but the finished product is surely impressive. I love how much natural light the campus has. From the side view in the video, I feel every corner of the building has some natural light. I wasn't aware of the roof to be fully covered in solar panel. I thought these roof tiles are just conventional one. They look organically blended into the design which makes all of them seem natural. I don't know if there is any Asian inspiration in the roof design but I remind me of the roof of some temples or palaces in Japan. Truly beautiful. Well-done Google.
I live nearby and have ridden my bike past this campus while under construction. To see this video has kinda been breathtaking. It feels sort of like a high tech circus tent. Lo. It’s really cool.
This looks awesome. I joined Google in early 2018 and always saw this under construction, wondering if it would ever be finished. I relocated to a different office in 2021, now I can't wait to come back to MTV soon and check it out!
I'm sitting in the campus right now, it's seriously the nicest tech campus i've ever seen, and i've been around. I love the artistic spaces on the 1st floors, wow 🤩
I was fortunate enough to work in this extraordinary building last week. It is genuinely inspiring and filled with thoughtful details. Simply the best workspace I have ever seen.
Everything Google does is incredible, from its products to company culture, to its campuses. I guess Google products are the only ones, a person cant go by a day without using them. We use them directly or indirectly in some or the other way daily.
To be honest, as an architect, I am not so impressed with the final outcome. Maybe it is not a good idea to put together two architects with very different design philosophies. I see neither BIG's clean and analytical design nor Thomason's sensational details. This one simply looks like a massive compromise with expensive 'eco-friendly' accessories compared to the Apple campus.
i agree with you mostly with regards to the architecture of the building, but i feel that the focus may have been more about what kind of work it would facilitate on the inside. what social and collaborative dynamics it would encourage, rather than the desgin and finess of the entire struture.
@@streetninja510 :) I think you are right; however, when we look at architecture at this level - the two most famous architects work with one of the most creative internet companies; naturally, we should have more expectations. I still think this is a good piece of architecture, but just not good enough, considering all the resources and effort that have been put into it. Comparing this building with the Apple campus, the differences are very similar to Android phones and Apple phones. Android phones are good and practical, I think Apple is simply at another level with all its elegance and insane attention to detail.
agree with m1k3y~ミクト, apple and google want different things and question is did google got what it wanted ? I dont think its elegance or innovative structures.
@@RenilJoseph93 lol, it is actually very diffcult to judge whether google (or you mean the decision makers of Google) has got what it wanted, beacause google is a very large organization, I believe some googlers have different opinions, I also can only judge from my own architectural perspective about this architecture. Personally, I prefer the apple way of doing things.
not impressed with what in particular? this is way cooler than a basic Apple HQ circle. only thing better at apple are the landscaping and grounds. i have not seen any buidling quite like this. It reminds of a mix between the sydney opera house and a japanese style buidling . I personally really like it. Its like a work of art
Really amazing and speechless. Google does always something very innovative, impressive, caring and sustainable. Wishing Congratulations 💐🥳 and all the very best, Google. Feels so proud of being a very minute part of the community.
I loved the thinking, mindset and an eagle eye perspective on which google runs itself and this campus is just a step add to that. Its really awesome to have such environmental friendly, natural campus which naturally keeps ourselves healed every now and then. Wonderful design, structure and construction 💓💯💐. Many many congratulations for this accomplishment to all who contributed in completion of this project 💐💐💐💐
Looking forward to touring this campus in November during Greenbuild conference week. The same architect and designers are also building a Google office in London (King's Cross) with urban farm roof and recreational amenities.
Am I wrong but people seem to have no outlook to the outside world from their desk? This is basically something you need to have by law in some countries. Anyway, it looks and feels futuristic.
That’s amazing! Love how forward thinking the project team must have been to create such a amazing project. Hats off the the minds and hands that came together to bring the building to life from the architectural team to food team! Well done!
Some Google executive draws a tent on the back of a napkin and wallah! An original roofing structure that will leak water forever. lol! The vanity of these companies is on full display, marketed as eco-friendly, when it's anything but.
Good for the environment? Oh, so there will be no parking, no cars allowed? It would be much better for the environment to build this in a place that actually has public transit. Probably better economically, too. These areas are a HUGE drain on city finances, as they cost WAY more than they pull in in taxes. A much more environmentally friendly move would have been to build it somewhere else. Everything else here is just window dressing, and making the problem worse.

So well said and precise. You definitely captured it.
The shape of the Apple building resembles that of a prison. All they're missing is an actual walled garden.
So true. I’ll be so uncomfortable working in a campus that has more of an airport or metro station than of productive workspace in it.
Great analysis man.
@@skinnyguy7773 there is a park in the middle. Literally stuck inside the right literal walled garden.
Looks like an airport from inside. Not that I'm complaining!
i would watch an entire documentary on the building of this building
Did you fins it yet? 😄

so cool. the dragonscale solar roof is amazing.
It's called The Gradient Canopy
I visited GooglePlex two months ago and saw this building constructions !!! You did so much into two months!!! Great and stunning and beautiful!!😍
How you got the chance to visit Google plex?

They have designated areas where the workspaces must remain quite for concentration purposes
So amazing, lucky people work there.

Is the campus as big as the earlier one?
The building looks like a convention center. The inside looks like a trade show.
I love the environmental friendly concept come to life in this construction
