    What gorgeous sounds. Those cleans are amazing! And I can just imagine that they'll sit in a mix and cut through a live band perfectly. Dammit, now I need a new amp!

    My word! I'm back in 1978! After many years of playing Orange I dislikes the Class A amps of the 90s. I'm going to have to get one of these!

    Man, I keep coming back to this demo and the clean sound sounds so beautiful. A lot like the Rockerverb MKIII it seems, but much more flexible. And the range of dirt sounds almost entirely different in every other demo on UA-cam, but always in a good way. Pretty impressive. I need to wait until December to order the OR30 myself, surely will be a very happy owner then. Also still wondering a lot about Marshall, Fender and other tube amp brands, in the background of my head, as I want to go for learning jazz guitar but also berserk metal and punk on my 9-string. But the more I listen to Orange tube amp demos the less I want to carry on without this sound in my hands, and the OR30 also should allow me to replicate the immediate, punchy attack I got out of a AD30HTC at a store, but minus the pained ears when turning up, hopefully? Can't wait to try out!

    Another perfect demo👌 I just love how you walk through all the controls in a very logical way and usable musical context 👏 The amp seems very versatile and can even make great (and bright enough) hard rock sounds with a LP, which is a crucial point for me. Well done 🍊!

    This is a good demo 👍 possibly the first amp that i have heard where you can hear differences with ALL of the control tweakings except that the 2 watt setting is a bit like a fart in a trance, probably 5 watts might of been better eh.

      @@TobysGuitarGearDemos I'm trying to decide between OR30, AD30HTC and Rockerverb right now. A comparison would be super helpful. Tho my real problem is I love them all for different reasons, but can only get one. As far as I follow the AD30HTC sounds nicely present and punchy, this OR30 very warm with nice low end, and the Rockerverb very big and classy but without the qualities of the other two. I think I'll settle on either the AD30HTC or OR30 for my 9-string, hoping they will also take clean bass range low end well then.

    • @TobysGuitarGearDemos
      @TobysGuitarGearDemos 8 місяців тому +1

      @@Goth108Hi, a comparison isn't forthcoming for those 3 but I can say your thoughts are pretty much exactly what I would have written. If you go OR30 it can have a big bottom however that cross line presence really helps it cut through.
      The AD30 has less low end than the other two which might work well with a 9 string as the low end will be controlled by the amp already.
      With the other 2 I would recommend a Tubescreamer or similar to tighten the lows. I actually have had really good success with a Pepers pedals dirty tree into the Rockerverb 50 for heavily downtuned guitars. I put the Dirty tree in the Fortin 33 mode then push the Rockerverbs bass up.
      There is no loser with whichever one you pick
      👍

    • @Goth108
      @Goth108 8 місяців тому

      @@TobysGuitarGearDemos I think I'll go for the OR30. The AD30 has an odd compression going on, which is notably fluttering when some chords ring out, apparently. At least this effect is audible in two or three otherwise good demos, here on UA-cam. The OR30 apparently sounds so full, a lot of youtubers seem to have troubles miking it up properly. That means it will probably excel at making me feel like the sound was all around me, with a lot of warm low end. In case of need I already have a TS9 and also a HM-2w, but I think this amp would require a OD-9 when wanting to go really punchy and controlled. Tho I bet it will sound great when just maxing the volume, When testing the AD30 HTC at a store it just screamed just right when literally maxing all controls and adjusting gain to taste, I wonder how the OR30 will perform when doing the same, nobody on UA-cam is showing that.

    If you're one of those entitled window shoppers, clicking on this video expecting to see yet another 'budget' amplifier, maybe you should realize something before it's too late. Professional players, studios, and the like, still buy top quality equipment. An amp like this is for them. If you want budget, Orange has an entire range out there for you. They even went through the trouble of developing mid-level equipment, which many companies don't bother with. So stop moaning about something which is clearly above your pay grade, and put in some research.

    "Made in England" 😂
    They mean assembled in England using the same shit their Chinese amps are made with for triple the price I bet. Or so I've read*
    Edit: I apologize for being crass. It's just like prs s2 being "made in US" when they are in fact assembled in Maryland with parts that are made in Korea. It's false advertising and is not to say these aren't great pieces of gear in terms of quality. But, "buyer beware*"

    • @3rdStoreyChemist
      @3rdStoreyChemist 11 місяців тому +2

      This is how everything that involves any electronics has been made for decades.
      So you’re not pointing anything new out and nor should anyone be wary of it.
      All those vintage USA pedals and the legendary component that apparently makes it better than the current reissue was made in the Far-East, for example the MN3005 was made by Panasonic, the LM308 was Motorola... that’s how long this has gone one for.
      So are you claiming every brand out there is lying and engaging in false advertising?

      Orange like to make a big deal of the custom-made transformers they put in their English amps. I believe they're UK made. They're big, chunky, heavy and very expensive. Working in a guitar store, I've played a number of UK and Chinese made Orange amps. At this point, I'm fairly convinced this is the definitive difference between the two. I could be wrong, but I'd be very surprised if Orange went to the expense and hassle of shipping these transformers all the way to China to have them put into their cheaper amps. I've got no problem with Orange's Chinese stuff, it's great for what it is. But for my money, the English stuff is worth the extra. I was impressed with the OR15 and the Tremlord, and their little solid-state practice amps crap all over Pathfinders, MG15s and the like, but overall I'm yet to play a Chinese model that has the balls and punch of any of their UK equivalents.
      Edit: The transformers in the UK amps are by Demeter Windings and are UK made. I looked in the back of a TH30 head (Chinese) that we currently have in the store: Yuyao Huachi Electronic Co. The pots also offer a less resistant feel than the pots in my AD30 and Rocker 30 head (both UK made). So there's at least three components (the transformers being fairly major) that are different.

      You can include Peavey in that list. All of those 'Made In The USA' Rages, Blazers, and Bandits from the 80s and 90s were assembled there out of mostly foreign components. Over time it became more economically sound to assemble them overseas. In any case, what counts is Quality Control, no matter where it's made.
