When I first started watching this show back in like 2011, I googled whether Michael would get together with Nikita or Alex so I would know who to ship, because he had so much chemistry with both of them in season 1. I think then the writers realized their goof up, and had Michael and Alex have almost zero interaction for the rest of the show until this arc.
