Great video!! I have made three of these for our grand baby and she just loves them. They are her favorite blankets and has to have at least one of them to sleep at night.
Great video. I love to sew but I’m not great at it. I sew mostly craft stuff. Will you be offering any videos on how to hem pants or shirt sleeves? I could really use one of those videos😁
Thank you fir your kind words. You don’t need to add stitches to the middle. You could if you were concerned it might shift. Tacking it would give it a quilt like appearance which would be nice too.
@@barrettscustomdesign Thank you very much. I plan making one with the dotted minky fabric and the top layer will be 100% cotton.,I was worried about shifting as you said. Thanks again.
The finished size is determined by the width of the fabric and the length you cut. Many Minky fabrics are around 65 inches wide so the blanket will end up about 63 wide by the length you choose.
I would use the same technique. You will need a big table or get down on the floor to smooth it out. Also, the center piece should be a full width of Minky, then add the desired additional fabric to each side for the full width.
@@barrettscustomdesign thank you. I actually did one with the minky according to your video. This time I'm making a receiving blanket and just using two cotton fabrics. Every video I see about mitered corners with cotton fabrics on both sides seems so involved. I like your way much better!
I love the way you mitered the corners!
Thank you for your viedo and sewing minke blanket. Your instructions are easy to follow.

Wow I love it
Hello! What stick did you use? Just a straight stick? And what spacing?

That's a great idea. I will put that on my list. Thanks for your input.
Do you need to add any stitches to the center fabric so it doesn’t separate from the minky fabric? Thank you for your well explained video tutorial.
Thank you fir your kind words.

What is the finished size of this blanket please

Any advice on making a queen size minky blanket ?

How material did you use?
Sheila, I used Minky Fabric - try Joann's or Fabric.com
how about the cotton fabric with Minky dot .
Is rainbow poplin (ranforce) fabric ?
Can you do the mitered corners the same way if you're using cotton fabric on both sides (vs fabric on one side and minky on the other)
Yes you can. However the Minky might be a little challenging since it’s thicker.
