So glad you finally reacted to this. I've asked a few times. Neon Gravestones tore the heart out of me the 1st time I heard it. It's such an important track. Not just about getting people to talk about suicide, thus "beating a stigma that no longer scares up" but it also calls out the reaction, mainly on social media, when a young person or a celeb takes their own life. The news is usually followed by pages and pages of posts & comments bigging the person up, talking about how loved they were etc. Maybe we tell our nearest & dearest those things everyday while they're alive and it can do some good. It's been scientifically studied and found that in the young, suicide can spread like a virus. Someone struggling with their mental health sees all the posts and love for the deceased person and it almost encourages or makes it easier for them to do it themselves. The boys touch on using suicide "as a form of a weapon.....thinking I'll show them....". Again, proven fact, beneath a certain age, young people don't understand the permanence of death. I saw a documentary on the subject a few years ago. One 13 year old boy was heard to say to his psychiatrist " if I top myself at the weekend, I can't wait to see how all the assholes at school react on monday"! TOP literally saved my daughter's life. She'd been struggling with severe depression & anxiety for almost 2 years and we believe she was reaching a stage of despair when suicide would no longer be a huge stretch. By fluke, she heard Car Radio, never having heard of TOP before. The lyrics, she said later, touched her soul and made her realise that someone else knew exactly how she felt. She started listening to their other stuff back then and just bonded with them. She saw them live the 1st time they came to Ireland as a support act for another band. She's seen them every time they've come to Britain or Ireland since. I ended up loving them because she had them on in my car so much. For my 50th birthday, we went to their Trench gig in Belfast. The morning before the show, I'd bought meet & greet passes as a surprise. The PR people were telling everyone in the queue no photos, no questions etc etc to keep the line moving. When we got to the table where the boys were signing autographs I said to Tyler " thank you so much for saving my daughter's life"! They both stopped what they were doing and stood up. The PR guys went to move us on but Tyler told them to back off. They came round the table and hugged my daughter 1 by 1. They took a few minutes to chat with her and then posed for photos with her. It made my girl's year! They say don't meet your heros! Maybe you just need better heros!! Great job boys xxx
Truthfully, this was a good one about the subject but it isn't the first from them, they had Truce, Goner, Guns for Hands, and so many more from their earlier albums. Leave The City, the last track off of Trench, is probably my favorite by them, probably because the whole crowd sang it to the top of their lungs every show. Another one that should be reacted to.
Love to see you back with twenty one pilots reactions. That song definitely had my heart punched when I’ve heard it for the first time, and I just recently found out that their label thought that it’s a risk, and that it could be taken wrong by the public and ruin band’s career, but Tyler went with a decision to leave it on the album, which was definitely a great choice- i don’t think i’ve ever heard anyone singing about this topic in such way. I saw someone recommended checking their Goner performance at the Fox theatre and i have to say, that’s really a MUST. One of the strongest performance I’ve ever seen, you’ll love it, I’m sure
Thank you for the heartfelt reaction. Thank you for opening up. Tyler had to push to get this one on the album because the label thought it was too much. Reminds me of how ppl didn't accept TOP in the beginning bc they thought TOP promoted un-aliving, to use your term. But when ppl actually stop and take in the lyrics, they realize Tyler and Josh are, in fact, about the exact opposite. The marrying of the 'beat because of happy it sounds, but the lyrics are so down' and knowing that 'life has a hopeful undertone' really helps us feel right along with Tyler that 'no, they won't get 'em.' Such a powerful and necessary message. That's why we are the Clique, the Few, the Proud, and the Emotional. FPE |-/ 🤍🤍
This is a tough one, and you both did well in your reactions picking up on the message early and understanding where Tyler was coming from with this. The last bit about grandparents is always an instant tear up moment every time I hear it.
Actually they kinda do this alot, but you probably just haven't heard it yet. Just like this song...redecorate, goner, and truce hit really hard emotionally. Upbeat but also about depression and su**ide, guns for hands, migraine, etc
Brothers Ryker, I found you guys today after going down a UA-cam rabbit hole and rediscovering my favorite band TOP. I really appreciate your dynamic and in particular Kyle's emotional response to Tyler's lyrics. I've been a huge fan of Tyler and Josh for a long time and I highly recommend you do a reaction video to the Drown, Save, and Hear Me Now (among others) from Tyler's "No Phun Intended" album. I'll be honest, hearing Eric say that this type of song was not like other TOP songs you'd expect is frustrating, because the entire foundation of TOP is mental health struggles, faith and using music as a way to navigate contract between the two. Again, appreciate all that you guys are doing and can see from your later videos that you found out what makes these guys so special, but if you have not done so already - go listen to "No Phun Intended", you won't regret it.
As a massive twenty one pilots fan, I love watching your tøp videos cause it feels like I’m hearing the songs for the first time again😊this one almost made me cry lol
They did a live performance of Heathens in Romania that they mixed with the Stranger Things theme song. They showed snips of the last season on the screens. In the most recent season, a character was brought back from the bad place where she listened to music (Kate Bush "Been Running up that Hill"). On the screen in the back it says "Music has the Power to Save Lives". It's kind of hard to see and I wish the camera focused on it more. You made me think of that at the end. Their music helps so many people.

hey guys. all i got to say is i’m glad you made it thru those dark times when you was younger. you’re here now giving lots of us entertainment with your reactions which can be a distraction for some of us still struggling to find the path out of the darker side of our thoughts. stay alive |-/
"I didn't think TOP was going to make me feel.." LOL They do that sometimes when you least expect it. Although they talk mental health and unaliving oneself in just about every song, this is the most blanant and clearly he's spelled it out. Great reaction, guys. I enjoy seeing you connect with the songs I love.
There are definitely older songs that have similar vibes/message. It's one of the main reasons I love twenty one pilots so much and started listening to them!! Definitely should check out more like Goner, Truce, Lovely, and Friend, Please (there are so many more tho)! Most of the first albums/self-titled are piano/uke based because Tyler still hadn't learned other instruments. The last lines in Neon Gravestones never fail to make me cry. Makes even more painful when you realize his grandfather died while this record was being created (listen to Legend for that lil bit)
I bought the album and couldn't WAIT to listen to it the first time. I was driving home from work when I heard this song for the first time and had to pull over because I was crying. This is probably my favorite TOP song ever, and speaks to my soul because of my own struggles with mental health and *un-aliving*. The haunting vibe and increasing insistence as it moves along really hits it home for me. I'm so glad you guys listened to this one, and really took in the premise.
*hugs for Kyle and *hugs for Eric, I certainly missed these reactions from you all, but I'm glad to have another one now. They have sung a lot about mental illness topics in their older music. But this was the first of this kind where it's more simplified in a sense. I freaking love them so much. They constantly try to tell their fan base that they also struggle and that those listening are not alone in their own fights. This came out around the time when we lost Anthony Bourdain and Chester Bennington. Basically voicing frustrations that people are ignored until it's already too late. And then, all of a sudden, we start focusing on it after they are gone. Creating television specials, trying to release their biography early because they passed, buying their merch, albums, etc. Our attention should be placed on people to prevent them from struggling or alleviating them while they are. Not when it's too late. This song always makes me gosh darn sob because of how brilliantly genuine and thoughtful it is. I can't remember if you reacted to it already but it would be wonderful if you could do a double-feature type reaction. My Chemical Romance created a song called Cancer and Twenty One Pilots did a beautiful cover of it. My Chemical Romance has a music video for it and Twenty One Pilots has an official lyric video for it. If you already reacted to one then it would be awesome if you could eventually react to the other one as well when you are in a good enough mental space to do so. I look forward to seeing more reactions from you listening to Twenty One Pilots, and I'm going to go revisit the older ones you've already done again. 💙
this song was very important to me during a bad time. twentyone pilots in general, hearing these words in their songs kept me going, even when they were so dark.
There's a BBC live lounge version that Tyler did of this song which is just outstanding. His grandfather has just recently passed and his pain is palpable. Watch it.
Here we go. Love your videos. I will say that on behalf of the songwriter, the lyrics scares me a bit. Gives a lot of food for thought. I like that it has become more accepted to talk about mental health. If this had been more accepted a few years ago maybe we would still have people til Chester still among us😭
If you guys go into the TOP rabbit hole you will see that the first record hits really hard, actually all of them talk about the mental health issue, but for me the self-titled era was something else
Yes. And a lot of religious questions undertones. I love it. I think a lot of people who struggle with mental health struggle with their spirituality. But the self titled album is amazing. If you think you don't know what they are going to pull out of their pocket (musically) now, that album you can never even guess what's next!
This song is brilliant! It makes me cry every time. Even though the positive message is spot on, I can truly feel the pain at the same time. Amazing talent!
Love the reaction guys as always! So this isn’t twenty one pilots related but if you guys have not reacted to hi Ren from the artist Ren you really really need to!!!!!!
And amazing! I really could never pick a favorite song of theirs. I have some I like less than others but I still love them all. Some on No Phun Intended are very raw and could use a touch of what he can do now to polish them up, but the fact that he wrote those lyrics and put them to music at such a young age!?!? Just amazing.
Unaliving yourself is a common thing to hear from them i feel, as one of my favorites from them Message Man has a repeating line about it (I feel like Message Man would also be a great reaction it has a great beat and it has great lyrics.)
I really have been loving these twenty one pilots reactions. An extremely important band to me. I agree with how they can change up their sound so much and still sound like themselves. Despite tøp talking about mental health and su*cide consistently it was still jarring when I first heard this song when Trench released back in 2018. Definitely the most direct and carefully worded Tyler has taken this topic in a song before. I have cried a lot to this song, especially with the first couple of listens.
THIS SONG MAN. Every time I hear it it gives me gossebumps (Or however you write it lmao). The words touch my heart every time. Probably the most underrated song in the album.
Courage... to show vulnerability... that's their artistic and human greatness for me... and always, no matter how dark the song would get, at the end the message is hope, light, strength, heart... (Kyle, your teary eyes got me, man) thank you for this reaction... Love from Buenos Aires💀👽❤🔥🎶
Another awesome reaction!! For a song about mental health, Ren- Hi Ren will blow your minds!! And he just dropped a new song, Sick Boi. You guys need to go down this rabbit hole asap.
I listened to this song so much all the time and never knew why I liked it so much. Now that I know the meaning behind it I actually understand why I like it so much. Thank you for this, i love learning more about songs!
Tbh this is more or less what a lot of TOP songs are about so im a little surprised by your surprise. So glad you enjoyed it and understood the message so quickly

There is a video out there of a concert where you can see Tyler is not as energetic as always. For one of the repetitions he quietly says "promise me this, when i kill myself" instead of "if i lose to myself". And as a person who struggles with anxiety and depression since I have memory, it broke my heart from the inside out, but maybe it was just a little change to get that phrase out of his chest
idk if you guys have heard of #stayalive. might sound cheesy but its something TOP has done from the beginning and is a very big and powerful thing in the comunity. all the songs are a story almost all their songs have these kind of meanings. the whole story is also very interesting to get into
This song hit in another level today… was not expecting this from TOP… I would suggest some different songs than usual based off of this reaction, but you guys should listen to Loser or I Don’t Mind by Falling in Reverse… Just a different emotional level from Ronnie, especially in I Don’t Mind. Great reaction as always, and Neon Gravestones is gonna walk with me for a while

Yes!! Without their music I would’ve been gone in 2019. But here I am. Still struggling, but I am alive!
@@leyney9060 I can't say I got to that point but I could easily have given up and abandoned my family and could be living in my mom's basement by now. I'm glad you're still fighting the fight. I just wish it would get easier rather than just getting used to it. You know?!?
That was sooo cool, I wasn’t there to see it live, but the video I watched was amazing
hey guys. all i got to say is i’m glad you made it thru those dark times when you was younger. you’re here now giving lots of us entertainment with your reactions which can be a distraction for some of us still struggling to find the path out of the darker side of our thoughts. stay alive |-/
This is a hauntingly beautiful, sad, and amazing! Seeing it performed live was so emotional. We are not alone!
This song live is incredible
I bought the album and couldn't WAIT to listen to it the first time. I was driving home from work when I heard this song for the first time and had to pull over because I was crying. This is probably my favorite TOP song ever, and speaks to my soul because of my own struggles with mental health and *un-aliving*. The haunting vibe and increasing insistence as it moves along really hits it home for me. I'm so glad you guys listened to this one, and really took in the premise.
Stay strong! You are loved more than you can ever know!
Was waiting for this one, neon gravestones is a song that hits hard really. Great reaction, keep it up!
I was waiting for this reaction neon gravestones is my favorite song in the world, it is very deep, love it guy’s keep up the good work💛💛💛
Yes yes yes! Been waiting for more of twenty-one pilots from you guys. You rock!!!
This song helped out alot hearing it when it came out my aunt took her life a few months prior and i felt like in a way it was comforting
Absolutely love this one, the live version is wonderful too. I always love your twenty one pilots reactions
hmmm we meet again sherry…lol jk glad to see you in the comments💙🤘🏽
@@jaydead863 always nice to see you too |-/
This song is definitely some of their best work. I absolutely love the way they set the mood for this one with the instrumentals
this song was very important to me during a bad time. twentyone pilots in general, hearing these words in their songs kept me going, even when they were so dark.
WHOO HOO 🎉 Kimmy is doing her happy dance 😂 Thanks for the great reaction ☺️
There's a BBC live lounge version that Tyler did of this song which is just outstanding. His grandfather has just recently passed and his pain is palpable. Watch it.
I loved it, I learned that version on the piano
Good to see people appreciate this song for what it is
Here we go. Love your videos.
I will say that on behalf of the songwriter, the lyrics scares me a bit. Gives a lot of food for thought.
I like that it has become more accepted to talk about mental health. If this had been more accepted a few years ago maybe we would still have people til Chester still among us😭
Chester LOVED TØP TOO!! He posted several videos about them!
I love No Phun Intended and Regional at Best
They show the neon gravestones in the "Paladin Strait" video.
Eric I want all your beer glasses/mugs/etc. Love the hydrant glass. You guys always make me laugh when I’m down, thank you both for your time.😊
I absolutely adore Tyler's phrasing on every song of theirs
This song is brilliant! It makes me cry every time. Even though the positive message is spot on, I can truly feel the pain at the same time. Amazing talent!
this is what TOP IS ABOUT and they have been talking about in most of their songs
This is the first time I've actually heard this song, I know I know lol but dayummmm this is now my favorite song EVER by these 2.
This is one of my personal favorites by them. It hits you in the gut and sits for awhile.
Love the reaction guys as always! So this isn’t twenty one pilots related but if you guys have not reacted to hi Ren from the artist Ren you really really need to!!!!!!
Tyler is working on new music. Maybe you should try Redecorate? It’s the last track off Scaled and Icy. ✌️😊🌼
Isn't this what music is for...to express emotions that has no words.
He keeps digging deeper and I'm obsessed because I can so feel these songs
Neón Gravestone appears in Paladin Strait Music Video
Great reaction guys. This band’s music has saved my life.
This subject is what pretty much ALL of their songs are about.
The most heartbreaking line in this song for me is the "I'll mourn for a kid, but won't cry for a king" it has always hit me so hard.
I would like to see you guys reacting to the whole first album specially Isle of Flightless Birds, Fall Away and Trapdoor.
this song has the best lyrics overall its so deep and pain filled
They are so amazing live. This song as well- hits different live ❤️
One of their greatest songs, so much meaning.
THIS SONG MAN. Every time I hear it it gives me gossebumps (Or however you write it lmao). The words touch my heart every time. Probably the most underrated song in the album.
i appreciate the distinction here between confidence and courage
Courage... to show vulnerability... that's their artistic and human greatness for me... and always, no matter how dark the song would get, at the end the message is hope, light, strength, heart... (Kyle, your teary eyes got me, man) thank you for this reaction... Love from Buenos Aires💀👽❤🔥🎶
thank you for this reaction. one of their best songs for me for sure. love you two. more pilots reactions
Chester Bennington was a huge twenty one pilots fan and I think Tyler wrote this with him in mind
Goner and Addict with a Pen are kinda similar to this one!
Another awesome reaction!! For a song about mental health, Ren- Hi Ren will blow your minds!! And he just dropped a new song, Sick Boi. You guys need to go down this rabbit hole asap.
the main message is that you shouldn't use suicide as a weapon, as a message.
I listened to this song so much all the time and never knew why I liked it so much. Now that I know the meaning behind it I actually understand why I like it so much. Thank you for this, i love learning more about songs!
Tbh this is more or less what a lot of TOP songs are about so im a little surprised by your surprise. So glad you enjoyed it and understood the message so quickly
my interpretation of this song is that neon gravestones is another way of “glorifying deaths”
That’s why in the lore, the citizens of Dema who commit suicide are referred to as “The Glorious Gone”
so excited to see more twenty one pilots reactions from you guys, especially their deeper songs
I would love to see twenty one pilots reactions to the songs My Blood or Fairly Local next. Its also nice to see that u guys really got into this song and talked about it deeply
the older phrase 'Name up in neon lights' is a good part of the title.
Omg, I sometimes forget just how amazing these guys are!🤦♀️
This was an awesome reaction my dudes! Both of you guy's reactions to certain lyrics were just so genuine and exactly the same as mine were the first time I heard it.
Ugh, ffs this is an absolutely amazing song😉🥹
It also came out during 2020 quarantine and the skeletons were the guys, Josh is the alien and Tyler is the human
You guys REALLY need to check out their deeper cuts.... Everything you're asking them to give you more of, they've given on other, older songs. Truce, Trees, Goner, Forest, Kitchen Sink. Also ones like House of Gold, We Don't Believe What's On TV, Fake You Out..... Every single song they have is different and beautiful and worth a serious listen.
this song has such an important message, im so glad you guys reacted to it!
Yesss love that you guys found this song. Such a moving song. More TOP reactions!
twenty one pilots are fantastic live regardless but this song live is so emotional. the whole stadium screaming "no they won't get them" and "well I'm refusing the lesson, it won't resonate in our minds". very powerful and beautiful.
this song always hits deep !! it was deeply personal for tyler u can hear it and it really hits u, hits home. even more because u can hear it and u can see how much he’s in this song
if you're prepared for another heavy song Redecorate, from their most recent album is amazing
U guys need 2 check they're older stuff out, it's more similar but they have always done stuff for mental health awareness in their songs, but check out redecorate it's a beautiful song and if u loved this one then u will love redecorate.
Redecorate is perhaps one of their most perfect songs, beautiful end to an underrated album
Do you know what video
I was waiting on this reaction. One of my favorites, so glad y'all liked it.
Such a great song and I loved your reaction. Powerful song, glad you guys got to do this.. really love you two…
idk if you guys have heard of #stayalive. might sound cheesy but its something TOP has done from the beginning and is a very big and powerful thing in the comunity. all the songs are a story almost all their songs have these kind of meanings. the whole story is also very interesting to get into
this had particularly beautiful visuals live in concert
I really notice how Kyle felt the lyrics, thanks for the honesty dude
This song also brings tears to my eyes Kyle
This song hit in another level today… was not expecting this from TOP…
I would suggest some different songs than usual based off of this reaction, but you guys should listen to Loser or I Don’t Mind by Falling in Reverse… Just a different emotional level from Ronnie, especially in I Don’t Mind. Great reaction as always, and Neon Gravestones is gonna walk with me for a while
Great reaction! Love that you guys continue to dive deeper into tøp. Kyle, your reaction especially got me right in the feels 🥺
Thank you :)))
You guys really need to do “session” in New York with Tyler creating entire beats and reconstructing old songs. Shows how much talent is oozing off that dude
The way media talks about celebrities when they take their own life, is like a huge advertisement-it’s literally a *neon sign* . Don’t know about the US but in many countries the local media doesn’t report on this type of tragedy, in order to prevent copycats. It’s only when celebrities commit everyone is talking about.
Check out guns for hands. It's a great follow up to this with regards to a similar message. Tyler sings and taps into mental health very deeply in a lot of his songs, but now that you've seen it here, you'll notice it a lot more. Please keep watching them, guys!
glad to see you guys hop back in to Twenty One Pilots, please make sure you get to Trees + Speech live at the Fox Theater
MTV Unplugged from twenty one pilots, a very unique and brilliant concept. you can check and we can't wait for your reaction
