The Abel Tasman National park, Located at the tip of the South Island, New Zealand. This place is home to dolphins, seals, penguins and hundreds of protected rocky outcrops and bays!
We go camping for the weekend, fishing, diving, spearfishing and catching crayfish! Crayfish are challenging to catch with your hand but in NZ you are allowed to use cray loops. These are a metal pole with a loop of wire that is usually spring loaded. Once you find a crayfish, you place the loop behind them and wait for them to walk backwards before releasing the spring. Its a great challenge especially while holding your breath!

Hey mate awesome video, are crays easy to come by in the able tasman?
I found them in random locations, was also middle of winter, so maybe off season for them I’m not sure. The places I found them there seemed to be a heap but not all locations had them.
Also locals can use scuba and loops so they might get hounded pretty hard, we can’t use any of that where I am from
Plenty of crays in the Able Tasman once you know where to look but they are well educated and not easy to catch. It’s my backyard and I have scuba dived them for over 30 years
Nice thanks for helping out mate! Beautiful spot if you catch some or not! Never had a go of scuba, maybe on day
