Dude I remember the streams, I’ve never seen Eric struggle more with a bad day and a really difficult level in 1 stream. I don’t know where you get the determination to keep going with a level but I have so much respect for you finishing almost every level you set your mind to. GG man
When I saw you were doing this I instantly felt bad because this level is the most grind heavy and frustrating level I have ever played. I became so consistent at the first half of the level and died to the dual over 80 times and it was just hours and hours of nonstop grind to beat it as early as possible. GG though man, this is a rough one haha.
22:07 This is why I don’t like doing any XXL levels besides The Clouds Give Way by Subwoofer & Obsolete Travel II by Glintz. Those are both Easy Demon XXL levels. My problem with XXL levels is that the gameplay for each part may not be that hard, but stringing it all together over a 4, 5, or 6 minute long level & controlling your nerves the entire way is why I just don’t like levels this long, even if they’re a masterpiece of a level like Dark Odyssey is. Massive GG’s to Eric for persevering through this absolute beast of a level!!!!!!!
Dude, I've practiced Future Funk so much, the hardest and longest level I wouldve done, and I cannot get past 50 percent because of how stressful it is lol I love long levels too, my current hardest is The Behemoth which is like 3 minutes long

@@cyb3rspace478 Technically the second half of FF is harder, but I can barely scrape through the first half It's just the long clutterfunk ship and the High Life wave that give me the worst trouble Chances are if I made it halfway, I have a good chance of beating it, the dual is so easy imo

I really wanna beat Dark Odyssey and I got really consistent at the 2nd half but I just can't get past the music desync bug since I'm a very auditory player and am waiting for an ingame fix.
As Gamma from ADOFAI would say: "All failures get you to this feeling.", this feeling of relief after so many hard fails, that gets more and more rewarding the more you fail far on a level/map. Congrats Eric for beating Dark Odyssey! Your determination paid off

Dude this level is absolutely soul crushing and when I beat it I was so tired from all the grinding, I died to the dual over 90 times. Congrats on beating it.
Man you have been popping on this. Wasn’t last year you had a medium demon. It’s only been hard demons or higher. Last year you had like 2 medium demons wasn’t one even the realistic. You have improved so much

With this update I’ve been back in it and having a blast and decided to rewatch this video as I love Johnathan GD as a creator. I usually skip your outros (no offense). But this one really struck me. Something about this level and your talk at the end made me emotional. I think it has to do with that one ship that takes so many classic level styles, styles that were made and levels created far before any of us could have thought of this as something so large. Thank you evw, for your years of service.

Most of my winning attempts on levels are right after dumb ones where I am literally like “i gotta stop doing that” and I’m playing while I have my chin in my hand, until I get to a tense part. Then I LOCK IN

Hey, Eric! I was gonna tackle this for my first Extreme as my 200 Demon! My hardest is Dark Travel. Which I have on my main channel, but all of my other GD content is on my second channel. And Wow in all of the years I’ve watched you, I’ve been here since Corpse Party, I don’t think I’ve seen you this emotional with beating something. Very Nice Job! I’m also doing my own 12 Demon’s to join in on the fun! 😁 and the last Demon is The End by Zylenox. Which is 199. Ah here it is, the masterpiece of a level, the one I can proudly say is my best completion due to the fact that I did it on a laggy 60hz
