I thought this too and with a golf like green, I swore I would wait for a mower that wasn’t “dumb”…. Until I gave up and got a random pattern worx mower. I can tell you right now. Straight lines on a robot are a disaster as you will get obvious tracks in your lawn. More specifically from where the robot has to screw around and turn. I DO NOT recommend straight line mowers and that’s a lot coming from me who was cylinder mowing up until recently.
I have a moebot, aussie company from Melb. Has a boundary wire but it does a great job. It integrates with Google Assistant so I have it start 4 hours after sunrise (which obviously changes each day) so the dew has mostly gone, I have it do 5 hours every 2nd day. Outside the growing season I do Mon & Fri only and in winter I just do weekly.
My mum got a husqvanna one for her sloped block. I used to wrestle the hill with the Kubota ride on for hours. Now “George” goes day and night in random patterns and the lawn has never looked better. Manageable and he’s only got bogged a few times. Blades changed twice in four years.
We have African black beetle in our lawn. Just treated it today with richgrow. Any thoughts on the product? Our lawn is very thick buffalo which kills me to mow, so hopefully we got them early
If that doesn't work I'll recommend Scott's Lawn Builder Grub & Insect. I shocked with the amount of black beetle I had. The next few times you water or it rains more come to the surface. I used it in January for my spongy lawn....now it's firm.
Would have been nice to see it react to an obstacle like a dog’s toy or tennis ball. How does it ‘cope with slope,’ as your putting green is flat? Pretty expensive gadget for one small lawn.
I have a few huge yards I manage, one yard is an acer. Another is 2 1/2 acers. The 2 1/2 acer yard has way too many rocks, but my 1 acer yard is very flat. Could one of these auto robot mowers cut my yard? 1 Acer is very large! Can it cut, go and charge, and come back and finish the job? If so I will try to get one of these.
Tim, I need a new trimmer that is powerful, battery, lightweight, and I need it to be able to be short. Right now I use a Worx. I love it but I need something more powerful for other yards I take care of. Any suggestions?
Nice! Looking forward to a follow up video to see how it’s all going. I’m wondering how it would handle small twigs and leaves on the lawn. Also it would be great if you have any experience with other auto mowers like the worx or Husqvarna to compare.
Both seem to cut just as well and find their way around my small yard with ease. The Ecovacs software is definitely ahead. The Kowoll is a larger machine.
G’Day Tim Me and the whole family love to sit down and watch both your channels …. I would like to ask you what sort of dust mask do you wear and where you can purchase them from ? Please keep making fantastic videos your a legend 👍👍 best regards Neil
This is worst product I bought for long time. It is so stupid it is hard to describe. Gets stuck all the time, looses connection, the beacons sometimes disconnect, map is somewhat incorrect, edges does not cut, hard to get one day without issues. Terrible product, please avoid at any cost!
Very nice ! I like how it cuts in straight lines instead of random patterns. ⛳️❤️

That is a very cool mower. So fun!
We've got an Ecovacs vacuum robot and it's fantastic. Awfully tempting to match it up with a mowing robot as well!

Cute lil pupper loves you a lot. 😊
👍👍I think some don’t get that you are testing it and telling us what you think. It definitely is helpful for people with health issues. Thanks Tim xx

I’ll definitely have a video of that 👍

How often do you need to change the batteries in the navigation beacons?
I’m not sure. I haven’t had to yet

What is the maximum area of lawn it can maintain?
They say 1600 square metres

What did you find did the better job,
This one or the Kowoll?

@turfandtools thanks for the reply, really thinking about getting something for the times I'm busy and just can't get to the lawn
G’Day Tim

Why dont you use the Kolmower M28E :)
This is a tool review page so I’m always trying new tools. I have more robot mowers coming to test also
Assuming these are stocked with steel blades. Get yourself some eBay stainless steel, double sided, double hole blades. Your welcome.
Cool😅

What is your yard like? I’ve had very little issues with it but my yard is simple
