For first shots I'd be happy with 5.5" groups but slightly surprised that velocities were fairly consistent across all loads
Just got a 459 sizing die for the cast bullets. Some of the bullets got shaved on this run. Also going to bump up the powder and see what more velocity does. I was suprised to have 1 fps between some strings of three.
Great video
I dont have this gun,
I do have a 480 ruger handgun s redhawk s 2.5, 7.5 , 9.5
Blackhawk 6.5 alaskan..
And a rossie 480 puma, 20 inch.
Using 300/330 grain lehigh coppers
325/ 400/ 410 grain lead bullet technology
1 in the chamber, 10 more in the magazine tube. On the rifle.
Some written blog guys have said the 480 ruger memics the 1870 s trap door...
So,
by your research,
You have proven them correct,
I have read of someone hitting a target at 700 yards with some variation of ruger 480.
I will have to devise a way to measure
actual thumping force at disrance,
Now i just have to read more pioneer stories to see what that rugar 480 can do
Thanks for the video,
