When you're in love, time stops, reason stops. There's just now and that's it. I found myself caught up in a whirlwind. Free to make my own decisions and simultaneously powerless. And I didn't mind. I had fallen hard for Mia, blindly following her into an unknown world, one of tucked away canyons and broken dreams. I had learned to let go in ways unimaginable, but there were limits. Mis was free by nature and freedom was required to navigate a world much darker than it initially appeared. She could sense my cynical, wondering mind coming alive.
