A Journey Through History | Ancient Cities Of Cappadocia
You should go to Uzungöl in Balck Sea Region of Turkey, Gabriel. You will find a different Turkey with beatiful green nature. Thanks.
best video off Cappadocia . So far
Just came back from Cappadocia, and Zelve was my favorite. For those who plan to visit, I also recommend hiking in: White/Love Valley, Pigeon Valley and Red/Rose Valley.
No Mr. Bond. I expect to stay.
Best vlog on UA-cam. Congratulations Gabe. 👍👍👍🙏
Agreed, best vlog...also check out Itchy Boots vlog...Noraly will be riding her motorcycle from Patagonia to Alaska very soon...Gabriel definitely has it going on!
Oh my my what a beautiful way to go into & down Memory Lane - with the background music you close your eyes & imagine being in this place of awe & wonder, how the people lived, obviously liked their existence in such a place. I understand for most of these ancient peoples there was no choice but oh my how well this place sheltered the Peoples of that time in History. Again what a memory & what a place, thank you for sharing - love History of this ILK.
Definitely one of your best videos that you have ever produced Gabe. Thanks for showing us this beautiful little part of the world.
Awesome, glad to hear it.
I would want to stay there at least a few weeks and definitely take a hot air balloon. Amazing place
Along with an excellent videography your commentary was loud and clear as well.
Great, glad to hear it.
we were there 3 months ago. thanks for sharing again.
The underground towns/cities and cave systems were created between the late 7th-9th centuries when Roman Syria was lost, and Arab raids into Anatolia made the Cappadocia region and the Taurus mountains a no-man's-land. The area was again under Roman control in the 10th century, and fell to the Turks in the 11th/12th centuries.
Hi Gabriel, This terrain reminds me of the southwest of the U.S. Arizona, Utah very dry desert-like climate. It's definitely a fascinating place that one should visit many sites to see.
At 13 minute of video, the music is pleasant to mind, resembles that if Indian subcontinent.
Your videos are becoming a tried and true source of inspiration and entertainment for me, very cool 😎
Sweet.
Gabriel Traveler dude ya man, you’re legit and thanks for sharing :) Hope you’re doing well.
I love Turkey
Wow! Thanks
18:04 Turkeys in Turkey!!!!! My life is complete!!!!
Loved the video just wish didn’t swing the camera around so much.
Amazing ♥️
@Gabriel Traveler Did you find out how or where those cave living people got their water and food?
Why the information on the board at the entrance of the cave was not read? No very accurate as there is lots of I think...
Gabriel and guys I just came back from there and I cannot figure out one thing, I probably cannot rest in peace before knowing this...
As we can see in the video, there are a lot of houses on the very high places, how did old people get there? There were even people living there until 1950. I saw from another video that there are actually stairs in "the entrance" but where are they? Is that even true? I have been searching but I got nothing so far, just hoping somebody can tell me how
Probably there were wooden structures including ladders that were built into the caves for access and also to create structures sticking out from the rock. I'm sure they looked a lot different when they were lived in. I'd sure love to see what it was really like when it was fully occupied.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos thanks for the answer!!!!!
Bravo
I think the grave looking things were babtismal pools or Baths, if there was such things, it make since that early christians would have one for men, one for women and one for babies.
One of your best videos. It's so exotic and stunningly beautiful. I wish we could tell Trump to keep his hands off Turkey threatening economic ruin against them yesterday for it's not a threat to America. We need real democracy and real media and allow referendums on how to do our foreign policy so we the people are then steering America.
A lot of that area were created by the Greeks…
😃
The cross, a "Christian" symbol...
Early
This video is like a professional documentary! Music, narrative, everything...
Absolutely agree !
Man I want to visit that place! Turkey is sooo epic mate! 🤘🏻
I hadn't even heard of this place before. Thank you for allowing me to discover it Gabriel.
The greeks lived there for centuries and no issues with erosion. The Turks moved there and in decades the habitations eroded. The Turks often change the names once they take over but Cappadocia is pre Turkish. I lived in Istanbul/Constantinople 2006. Sadly I didn't make it to Cappadocia but I did see Troy. Cappadocia is pre Turkish as the video states.
Cappadocia was a city built by the native indigenous Anatolians such as the hattıans hittites before the Greek colonization of Asia minor. Most citizens there ancestors are natives before the hellenizaton of the indigenous inhabitants .
Thank you for an interesting video. I visited Gøreme 25 Cappadoccia 25 years ago. Not so many tourist .I have become a really fan of your videos. Superb. Greeting from Norway !
It looks like the stone is very soft and porous which makes carving out the caves a lot easier I would imagine?
This place helped to spread christian religion around the world ✝️
Capadocia ortodox monasterias and monastic cells.
Amazing. Reminded me The Flintstones :)
Looks like minecraft in real life.
I love your video. Reminds me of my trip in September 2019. My sister and I stayed in Göreme at the Charming Cave Suites Hotel. We visited lots of the famous valleys like you. It was out of this world.😃😃😃
We loved visiting Cappadocia too - please have a look at our video :)
@@EpicureanLifeTV thank you so much. i just subscribed to you and wathed your cappadocia video. it ws awesome 😊😊😊👏👏👏
@@artpoemsbysaloumehsallysal7043 Thank you so much! All the best :)
Please stop moving your camera so much. I got dizzy looking at it for only a few seconds. Thank you.
Thanks for travelling to my country n also thanks for filmng and publishing it :)
*This video is from another level* 👌
*Awesome Job* 💪
Sweet, glad to hear it.
I don’t think they’re caves, I think they’re melted brick buildings, carved out when others moved in and took over the space
Getting fit with Gabriel! I love all the walking videos you do so I just hop on my treadmill and walk the world with you❤️✨🌿
Very cool!
Fantastic video and music Gabriel.. You've worked your magic again! Thank you! Take care!🦋😊🦋

Amazing Cappadocia 💛💚💙
I think it was carved out by a civilization thousands of years ago, and was then reoccupied multiple times afterwards.
21:46 | you said, *it is surreal, out of this world, looks like another planet* because _you aren't in-tune with reality!!!_ :D
seems like horror places we see on films..
I stayed a month n still didn't see it all, but like you I rented a car and kept on traveling! Yes these lil villages that look uninhabitable are indeed peoples homes😔makes you feel grateful for what you have! It's very rare to see dangerous animals in Turkey. Another loved video Gabe, thanks mate enjoy your journey. Until next time my friend✌
WOW..This is sooo Amazing and the music is perfect...really loved seeing all of the caves and fairy chimneys ..you're so Awesome Gabe...love all of your Adventures..
Stop keep saying Greeks.
People who use to live there were Christians but they were not Greeks.
Yes, sure. The magically started speaking Greek.
Amazing scenery, it's like looking into the mind of a science fiction writer.
Cave houses! This is going back to the Stone Age!
Typical Gabe style....awful ballsy
A very eerie looking place... At night it could be mistaken for the moon!!!.. cheers for the video... Safe travels.. 👍👍
You are humble man ever
Thank you for sharing, but why would someone make graves in a house,
Great video Gabriel!! Really shows the space n layout of that amazing landscape!! Love that eatery you ended in! Thank you for all your time n effort to share!♥️
You remind me of this guy that used to work for me. He was ok at first and looked kinda different. But then as time went on he became more annoying until I had to fire him.
You only resemble him on looks though.
Your videos are fire 🔥 🔥
The bible says: Any person that fires a human soul will burn in hell. Good luck boxx.
Eh oh
Looks like someone from future visited the ancient past in their time machine and wanted a place to stay so they used caves to create a modern look using their modern ideas. And we are in seeing it the wrong way this whole time. This looks like celebrity villas to me. 😅
The original and for real Bedrock City.
midnight express showed turkey as a no go zone great vid
Good movie. But of course he was smuggling drugs, which can get you into a bad situation anywhere.
Lol Turkey is the top 10 most visited countries of the world! Center of the Empires and the Civilizations not a country of immigrants.
This city made to avoid the barbarians, cuz if didnt ve a map u loose inside...the doors closed with a big circle stone etc
As always Gabriel very interesting the caves and fairy chimneys 😎😊 thank you! Stay safe! As always the food looks delicious 😊❤🙏
It was Christians built it. They say “oh Armenian Christians lived here but didn’t build it, Phrygians did.” Armenians were Phrygian. They were colonists of Phrygia
If there is a cross it cannot be 12,000 years old? I love your video and i just subscribed from Québec 😊
Sooo... You don't know. Thanks for the images, uninformed, suppositional commentary not necessary.
Or useful.
if you ever visit India theres a place called the Ajanta Ellora caves which are more intricate in their carvings and were made (carved) by Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains (Just like the Byzantine Christians here)
Pretty brave for a tourist walking around a primitive village without a local guide who can tell you about local rules and values. If a Turk walked around our backyards with a camera recording everything, guess what would happen.
COOL beginning there, will watch this for sure. When I am ready with a beer and some snacks...
Good plan.
Drink cola :D
The insides of these caves look like they were fashioned out of some kind of poured cement like material, not chipped out of hard stone. Notice how there is no veining in the stone, it is very uniform? Plus, if they dug miles of these caves out of hard stone there would be massive piles of the debris that was removed. Where is all the debris? It's an amazing feat no matter how they did it but it appears to be made out of some primitive type of concrete.
You went to the places where our tourist guide didnt want to bring us there in early January 2020. This video refreshing our memories. Thanks bro
This was an excellent video. It took me a while to sift through the typical “travel couple” videos. You do a great job narrating .
Why is it that I heard that they didn’t really find anything in those caves. And your only aloud to go down a certain depth . What are they hiding in the caves in Turkey?
Wonderful place. Very beautiful video. Nice creation. Great work friends.
Please, can someone explain to me how such a large complex was lighted? And please do not say sorches. Thank you.
I love Turkish food and Tucson, Arizona has a great Turkish restaurant called Istanbul.
Great video, thanks!
The cross is not a Christian symbol, its origins go back to ancient Egypt to the ankh cross.
NICE work ..308 views

I walked your same footsteps back in 2016 and like you, I was in awe of all of the beauty and history that goes behind it. well said on your presentation of Cappadocia!👏 It's definitely a magical experience.🤗✌
can u take us to the "undergroud cities"?
ua-cam.com/video/kQnMjcuWhLE/v-deo.html
If your a muslim those chants must be awesome to here around your city…..But if your not?
One of the Phropets from the Bible lived thier for a while, in,400 BC..
Amazing Cappadocia... amazing turkey ❤️🇹🇷
I love caves...
loved this place. unfortunately it rained and grounded the balloons for us but still a magical city..We will return
They are not tombs they are baptismal. Dr John Lopez
Really an awesome video Gabe. So interesting and mind blowing.
Our indigenous grandparents had hid babies in there from the brutal Ottomans.
Love the video music and the way you show your journey so genuine, so beautiful.
Fascinating place Gabe and it looks like you have it to your self. Amazing. Sad what has happened to the Christians and minorities in some parts of the world though.
Carved during the ice age cave is a constant 55 degree Fahrenheit think about it
1 Peter 1 Was written to the persecuted Christians in Cappadocia
Shout outs from Germany 👍
Gabe! Did you take a ride in one of those balloons?
No I didn't, next time I go back.
Wow, I'm glad you replied. Good luck Gabe! I'll be waiting for your next video. Take care.
You have to take into consideration that there was the Armenian Genocide starting in 1915 which had populations that constituted the Assyrian genocide and Greek genocide. If you look up the numbers it states 1.5 million at least succumb to the Turkish genocide and those populations were Christian. That would account for much of this history.
My eyes and head aches when i watch this.. i feel dizzy on the camera
