Ikr? I had to quit season 10 bc it just was getting way too Dean-centric with Dean being a hypocritical asshole for my tastes. As someone else said, it became Dean from Dean's perspective instead of Dean from Sam's perspective, so from what I saw, Dean was a huge asshole yet got barely any personal consequences from it. Don't get me wrong, I love them but the writers did them dirty and most of my liking for the show dried up somewhere around season 8 (god Dean was so hypocritical and douchy in that season, then wonders why Sam was so ready to die) and what little remained definitely dried up around s10.

It seems the authors kinda have a thing for that tho looking at how Sam was in the first seasons while he had more individual screen time

And their appearances just turned them into homeless people like why would you get rid of the adorable Sam that I once loved and replace him with this random 30 year old?? They still looked good but Sam was cuter in the earlier seasons. Dean didn’t really change that much I don’t think
He had a good storyline in season 7 with hallucifer, but then they forgot it. Also in season 8, but then they forgot it. In season 9 we had the argument with him and Dean that could mean great character development, but then they dropped it after one episode. And in season 11, of course, we could've had a great storyline with the cage returning, but oh well, they forgot it. Well, you got my point.
