Huskies nickname is « drama queen » because they always make a lot of noise over nothing. I was really surprised to see this husky remaining perfectly calm and relax at the vet. Other husky owners watching this video must be looking at their dog with a mix of sadness and discourage.
I had a Doberman that all I had to do was say "let’s go to the vet” and he would run to the car and do his little dance waiting for me to open the door. At the vet, I had to be careful opening the driver’s door because he would knock me out of the car to get to the front door of the clinic. When we went inside, the assistant would yell "hi Max!" And his little tail would be wagging a hundred miles per hour and he would drag me over to her to see her. He usually tried - and succeeded in jumping up on the counter. He was huge for a Doberman.
my pups, who can see, would never be this calm 😂😂 you’ve obviously done an amazing job training her and getting her used to the world. she’s a beautiful girl ❤
This is my first Mackenzie video and im already in love. Shes such a lovely gal with a great personality. I bet the room shines up whenever she enters it with how lovely she is.
Loved the excitement when she heard her favorite vet come out to see her. That’s how you know you go to a good place when the pet is excited to see a good friend.
As a puppy, she used to cry during car rides as we took her to see the eye specialist very frequently until one day she stopped and has been very good at travelling since then 🤷♀️
Ain't no expert, been a shelter volunteer. Thank you for keeping Mackenzie even with her blindness as many surrender them. She seems a great dog, follows commands and is a happy girl at the vet. Nice to see her with the vet, on the subway, she's quieter than the huskies I've dealt with and she's got great owners, bravo!
Thank you so much! I fell in love with her when I met her and never had any thoughts to give her up! She's such a good girl that deserves a chance at life!
She seems like the sweetest lil baby 😭💕 Everyone is talking about how well behaved Mackenzie is, but can we also appreciate how well the vets treated her too? Definitely a green flag 🥰
I wish my husky, Steel, was as well behaved as MacKenzie. Steel is all energy and is a typical husky who is VERY independent. He listens when he wants to, I know that alot of it is my fault for not being a more well trained owner.
What a sweat and beautiful girl! She is so well behaved and excited for the vet! Our Husky/shepard mix is a menace during vet time lol. He is a rescue that we got at 2 years old. If we got him as a puppy I’m sure it would have been easier getting used to going to the vet. Also, the name of the clinic reminds me of my old fur baby. RIP Juno, we miss you!
It makes sense that she's a picky eater 😂 Her senses of smell and taste and touch must be even stronger than most dogs. I'd probably be pickier, too! 😅
It's a new vet office that opened recently and I was so fortunate to find out that Dr. Jones was the Lead Veterinary there! He's been taking care of Mackenzie for a long time!
My Eskie also likes the vet office. The girls working there, as well as the lady vet, seem to look forward to seeing her, probably because she is extremely sociable and loves making friends with both humans and new dog acquaintances.
@@mackenziethehusky I think a lot of the problem when dogs fear vet visits stems from how they are treated by the staff. If they are treated like welcome guests and friends rather than just another job arriving, they will start to feel comfortable with the environment and, in return, the vet's attention. My Eskie had a major stomach and esophagus inflammation and felt like crap, but still acted as happy as how she felt allowed to go to the vet clinic knowing that they would treat her well and solve the problem.

But just knowing Mackenzie was blind just broke my heart. Thankfully she's got you to help her out and I'm very grateful for that. I wish her a healthy and long life. She is very well behaved tho. My old hound dog gets so stressed going to the vet since he broke his leg. I'm sure part of it was hubby's reaction. He was so stressed. I've tried taking him to the vet for treats or just to get used to the smells, but he's having none of it. Maybe we'll start with the 'exam' and look in his ears and pretend to listen to his heart. He's an old dog, but he still learns new tricks.
I totally get it since it was a traumatic injury and I'm sure dogs can sense your stress too. Hopefully little steps at a time will help him enjoy going to the vet again!
Oh she is so beautifully behaved and so well-socialiaed, you can tell you really care for her and her health, and what the best, most possible way to train her and structure her life must be for her disability Huskies aren't an easy breed to keep, and I can't imagine what complications blindness could bring if you're not committed and passionate from the start to give her the best life possible You can see so much positive reinforcement, as she's so happy to be at the vet, happy to be out in public, content in elevators, and even trains, and being calm about the general public or other places Most huskies haven't even heard of the Chill Pill, preferring to be stubborn, needy and dramatic, so I can't believe how calm and well-behaved she is, what a lovely girl
I always do lots of fun training exercises while we wait for our turn at the vet. My pup loves going and they rarely (if ever) have to hold her still for shots. They just give her peanut butter and do the shot. She loves the vet and thinks vaccines are great because of all the peanut butter
I could only wish my critters were as calm as Mackenzie. 1 cat pukes, 1 cat pees, a previous cat we owned would poop. Our (quite old) doggo could never be convinced to just sit down while in the car, even on a seatbelt harness. She loved car rides at first... until the car started moving. Then she was just miserable because she wouldn't just settle and lay down and instead got jostled around at every bump and turn and brake. I'm *very* impressed with Mackenzie! Keep it up!
What an amazing & beautiful girl you are. So calm & collective. You do better on Subways than I do. Glad all is ok at the vets. Your behaviour was impeccable for Mummy. Love you Mackenzie. Love the vids. 🙏🐺🩶🩷😍🙌🐾😘
Our girl Fable does a stress poop in the parking lot 100% of the time we go (and we go often, she requires a CADI injection about every month) and is excited about it all until we are waiting in the exam room, then she gets nervous and tries to become a pocket sized 65lb mote of invisible dust lol. She’ll shove her head under my knees, force me onto the floor where she can hid behind me better etc. but once her vet comes in, she knows it’s all good.
That sounds kind of cute how she acts when she's nervous but I think maybe its just the quiet office sounds that sounds kind of eerie to her? I'm glad she feels better when the vet comes in! 🥰
What a sweetheart. It amazes me just how smart disabled dogs are so quick to get use to blindness. I had a boi JRT that went blind in what seemed like a couple of hours. The vet could not explain what happened. Even scans saw nothing, no tumors, injury, no weird labs. All we could assume is that he was destined to lose his sight. The little man of the house figured out what to do or where he was by always licking the back of my calf.Kind of weird but he adjusted well. Our fur kids are so wonderful, worth every cent that we spend to keep them happy and healthy.
To answer the temp question…….core temps are the best and most accurate. Rectal is the only core temp easily accessible without placing a device in the patient for monitoring, such as a temp sensing urinary catheter or central line device.
While it is unfortunate to an extent that she is blind, a dog is actually more reliant on their scent and hearing than they are on their sight. Dogs don't have good vision, in fact, their vision is about 20/75, meaning they have to be 20 feet away from something to see it as clearly as a human can at 75 feet away. A dog does not trust its eyesight as much as it does its sense of smell, either.
Thank you so much for the suggestion! I've lowered the music thinking the original was way too loud but now I know it's still too loud! 😂 Will keep the volume down for the next ones!

So great seing Mackenzie also loving the vet! Oh and I see she's shedding like crazy! Always a joy... My Miko (the Mittelspitz) also loves the vet and they are always super excited to see him. I never filmed him there though. Maybe it has to do with their first visit? If it's a positive one they might bond better to the experience.
Darling. I wonder if her blindness might bring her a little more comfort as she can't take in as much visual stimuli...which seems like a major trigger for huskies.
My families cattle dog is also a big fan off going to the vet. Our little guy is already wagging his tail in the waitingroom but makes the health check hard as he only want to cuddle and give kisses to the vet. It's verry weird as our dog doesn't like people that much but somehow decided he adores the vet. He's also friendly with the groomer even though he isn't a big fan off getting a bath.
Mackenzie is a sweetie. That vet's office is amazing. I can only imagine how expensive it is compared to the one I take my dog too. Where is it located?
This is called Juno Veterinary, they have multiple locations in Toronto! To be completely honest, it is a bit expensive but when I found out Dr. Jones became the lead vet there, I knew I had to follow him!
Huskies nickname is « drama queen » because they always make a lot of noise over nothing. I was really surprised to see this husky remaining perfectly calm and relax at the vet. Other husky owners watching this video must be looking at their dog with a mix of sadness and discourage.

Somehow dogs just seem to adapt to almost any kind of situation fairly quickly!
Awe, what a good girl 😍 I suggest that you lower the music a notch or two.
Thank you! Someone else also mentioned the same feedback so I will definitely do that going forward! 🥰
What a gorgeous sassy lovebug!!! She’s so good!!!
She did so good at the vet visit! 🥰
The dog legit said “No im not.”
😂
What a beautiful dog Mackenzie is ❤
Thank you 🥰
omg i love mackenzie 😍🥺
🥰🥰🥰
To answer the temp question…….core temps are the best and most accurate. Rectal is the only core temp easily accessible without placing a device in the patient for monitoring, such as a temp sensing urinary catheter or central line device.
That is great to know! Thank you!! ❤️
She’s a beauty!❤😊
🥰🥰🥰
you are such a good seeing eye human !
Thank you so much 🥰
You're a wonderful seeing eye person for Mackenzie god bless xoxo
Thank you so much! Personally I feel like Mackenzie behaves just like a normal dog so I feel like I'm not doing much! ❤️
God bless her and keep her, she's a courageous love bug
She aint going no where 🥰
While it is unfortunate to an extent that she is blind, a dog is actually more reliant on their scent and hearing than they are on their sight. Dogs don't have good vision, in fact, their vision is about 20/75, meaning they have to be 20 feet away from something to see it as clearly as a human can at 75 feet away. A dog does not trust its eyesight as much as it does its sense of smell, either.
It's true!
What a sweetheart! If I could make a suggestion..the background music is very loud. Great video. New subscriber!
Thank you so much for the suggestion! I've lowered the music thinking the original was way too loud but now I know it's still too loud! 😂 Will keep the volume down for the next ones!
Beautiful baby, blessed by Jesus ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you 🥰
Awwwwww what a sweet husky 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
She just loves her vet and meeting new people! 🥰
I think Mackenzie has a crush on her vet...
I think you're on to something...👀

She's so well rounded and adapts to so many different kinds of situations 🥰
I'm so jealous that you can take a big dog on a subway where you live.
Our transit system only allows them during non-rush hour time but it's better than nothing!
what a cutiepup!
🥰🥰🥰
So ein entspannter Hund ich liebe es ^^
She did soooo good!! 🥰
such a woonderful story wjat a wonderful dog
Thank you! Mackenzie just loves seeing her vet! 🥰
The shedding is never ending 😂 Mackenzie has almost always had a positive experience at the vets including getting her shots 🥰

''Shes really happy to see you'' made me laugh hahah 🤭 Sorry!
Y'all know what I mean 😂😂😂
Eine schöne Hündin und so lieb. Alles gute euch allen!
👍🙏😘💋❤️🇨🇭
Thank you! 🥰
Ivy is so well behaved on public transport as well as the vet. A treat bar helps.😉❤
Who doesn't love a treat bar?! 🥰
I would be afraid of the bill 🤪
It actually wasn't too bad!
Darling. I wonder if her blindness might bring her a little more comfort as she can't take in as much visual stimuli...which seems like a major trigger for huskies.
It's definitely possible! As a puppy she had quite a docile nature and has her husky moments
What a good girl mackenzie you had a great checkup i love when you rested your head on your toy so cute i love you mackenzie

I'm happy that she's a healthy girl! Her lip when she rested her head on the toy 😂
My dog Mona was also excited and happy to go to the vet, except when. Taking temperature she doesn’t like it. Lab draw and shots doesn’t bother her.
Mackenzie doesn't like getting shots on her shoulders but Dr. Jones knows that and avoids it 🥰
My families cattle dog is also a big fan off going to the vet.
That's just so adorable! Love hearing these stories! 🥰
Hi i have a pet rabbit and wen he goes to the veteran he is very good i put hem in a carrier by robert
I think I need to start watching rabbit videos
