During our journey we have been all of them. At least for the ones who have played for 3 or more years. Either that or youre about to be a hard-core soon because youre watching emongg. People watch emongg to escape the pain of being a hardcore, the immense pain that penetrates the fabric of our being every night as we try to sleep it wakes us up, or that couod be from glaring at the monitor for countless hours. Who knows..@@canineatnight6026
One of my first times playing OW was on Ana and because she heals teammates by shooting at them, I guessed all supports do that and shot at my teammates for some time until I realised they received no healing from it. Im that kind of person who will only watch guides, if im more invested into a game, so the first 100 hours of Overwatch 2 I learnt anything on my own, there are a lot more instances like the support one from this time.
My first was Moira, then I tired Mercy while having no idea who she is and what she does, so I started DPSing like on Moira and I remember getting mad at why her pistol does so little damage, thinking like how do you even kill anything with that thing. So I went into Aimlabs... Nah I'm joking, I picked Rein and immediately got flamed by my teammates. I still remember that one crazy dude, getting mad at something who only played OW2 for 2 days lol, so pathetic 😂
I'm so casual. I've gotten into gold on all ranks but maybe 5% of my time is in ranked. I play every role and all characters. I often look at my least played heroes and pick them out. Had an actually decent doomfist game for the first time last week. It was actually so fun.
I used to be a hardcore player back in ow1 but am completely burned out and am barely even a casual player. It no longer makes me happy and feels like a chore to play now. I only get on when my friends need a final player to fill their group.
Idk about other people but I get latched on on a different game, play that until burn out, and then come back to previously burned out games and they feel fun again. Do that. Don't touch it for like half a year and go play smth else.
im a casual for two reasons: 1st: my friends to play overwatch are only online late at night and i gotta go to bed early to work in the morning (when i play this game alone it just feels terrible beacuase random mates are something else) 2nd: i can’t keep playing this game without completely losing it takes 5-10 rounds depending on my mental.. but this game is just a rollercoaster on drugs (i have 500hrs in ow but played since OW1 beta and always had this cycle of playing on and off) this game is not able to balance itself and there are more and more hero’s coming and they will struggle more and more to balance the game..
By definition of this video I’m the hardcore ow gamer. I genuinely believe the only way I’ve avoided burn out is the fact that I’m a mercy main. She’s soooo much fun, even before I started playing overwatch I knew I was going to be a mercy main from the few clips I’ve seen of her. I thoroughly enjoy game characters that are easy to learn hard to master. I loooove minmaxxing her sm
A lot of people who tell you to hate on the game are likely players who's preferred heroes just aren't faring well at the rank they want to be in. Like high ranking Moira/Mercy/Illari players who have seen their OTP get nerfed to the point it's only viable if you are literally the very top of players to have mastered the ceiling and even then you struggle. I'll always be someone who believes people should play what they like but that comes with the cost of knowing you'll experience toxic teammates yelling at you to switch in maps/comps that don't favor your preferred heroes or that you'll find points where it's nearly impossible to keep ranking up and that really does just sour the experience for anyone. You won't notice it nearly as much if you're not particularly picky about what hero you play.
I’ve started the game fully fresh, hit the right level, went straight to plat and from there it just went down after learning more about the game 😅 That was when sigma got released.
There's documented tests that new accounts will fly up the ranks to get new players hooked while older accounts will struggle to rank. Blizz is sheisty ASF like that. That's also why Unranked to GM videos are so easy to pump out. It's easy to unranked to GM compared to rank reset on a 5 yr old account to GM.
I haff to be mad: they took out my favourite maps, and chopped out a rule, and then added the "halo shield" into the game, and they forced me to update to Overwatch 2 (because it was too good a deal to pass up!). Anyway the new tank looks like a projector-rocket-launched Mei.
I'm casual/invested going on enlightened. I'm working on accepting that I'm washed and probably not gonna climb back out of plat anymore and just enjoy the game and not care so much
I feel confused because I would say I'm in the enlightened stage, but I have bits and bobs from the other stages. And that might be because I've hit a wall that I don't see myself overcoming.
I have been through a lot of these stages but I’m in a strange place I want the game to get better and waiting for that and I find myself to get burnt out quick with current gameplay loop, of tanks and supports so taking a sidelines approach, keep up with balance and future trails and events but cautiously dipping my toes into it when people want to play every now and then. Used to grind hard and reach high ranks now I am just waiting for a big change
I am a hard-core gamer and was in overwatch, tho i didn't care much about the battlepass. I always look up guides before i start a new game especially if it is a multi-player game.
got burned out in ow1 especially the last two years. now im past that. tbf though big parts of it dont got anything to do with ow. i played a ton of celeste and that gave me a different view on life, games and much more patience and allowed me to laugh at my mistakes and so on. thats how i was able to enjoy ow again
I can't look past the issues as a Brig and Mei enjoyer, the glaring issues hit me every single game in top elo lobbies where Tracer is played 24/7. Everytime I Rally bash her as Brig, she recalls for free and doesn't die. Every time I icicle headshot her as Mei, she recalls fof free and doesn't die. And don't even get me started on how much more it takes to take down a tank. I wish I could ignore the problems, but these are issues that season 9 introduced that after 5 painful seasons, I can no longer ignore. "Nothing quite like it" might have been true for awhile now, but won't any longer on the 6th this month. Thank God I'll finally be free of this once great and now terrible game.
I'm not a healthy individual. I have ADHD. No meds. I need the dopaminicles to function. Can never get enough. So it's gaming gaming gaming. So idk I'm somewhere between Invested and Hardcor. Edit: again thx to ADHD I get burnout from any game after 6 months tops. I need fresh and I need different and no an event or game mode is not it. I'm sure most dead.game screamers don't realize that they hit burnout and they need a different game entirely. Shame that's not a category
I love overwatch but I don't play it 7 or 8 hours a day like I used to lol. I gave up on comp after all my friends quit and I mostly do mystery heroes now because it pisses me off less than all the throwers and aimbots I was finding in regular quick play. I take every battlepass to 80 and play 3-6 games almost every day. But I can only play so much by myself before I want to go do something else lol Still my favorite tho!
i love overwatch but i really dislike some in the playerbase, being a mercy and other girly hero enjoyer can be so miserable when theres dudes and other girls even telling u to kword urself on a weekly bases and tbagg u every game :(
I started overwach weirdly I was watching content for 3 years but never downloaded the game so I new a lot of stuff so this video doesn’t really apply to me so I guess im just a casual? Or started as a casual I play a lot But idk im like a combination of different things he said but I just downloaded it a couple weeks ago
That's called fanboy state, not an enlightened state. There must be another category for ow1 veterans, who care about the game, but don't buy anything and can go without actually launching the game for months, come back - and still play at the same level.

The least casual thing I do is watching some overwatch content I guess. Flats ftw
:0 holy shit me too
I just tried playing my least played hero and got rolled 0-6 as torb😭
Love watchover! Glad you found him!

hit burnout early this year.... honestly this vid gave me a little hope that i might have a future of non-toxic engagement with the game again
im a casual for two reasons:

and i gotta go to bed early to work in the morning (when i play this game alone it just feels terrible beacuase random mates are something else)

Lexie is a cool ass name I thought it was a reference to the singer for a minute
i never find emongg particularly funny, usually just chill and relatable, but he was actually pretty funny in this video. many laughs, love to see it
12:50!and that's why I stopped watching most of my previous list of content creators and kept going with emongg, just a better vibe in general
I'm a Destiny player, a dedicated one(8k+ hours) and all the thingsI hear people complain about OW are mostrly of what I hear in D2

I definitely sit in the burnout stage and i'm ok with staying there. I pulled the move on to other games and tackling my single player favorites.
Started as a casual, invested within the week, hardcore in a month or two, burned out and then got enlightened within about a year. hehe, funny video.
One mistake he made is just because you play more overwatch doesn't mean your hate for overwatch changes .
5:54 um.... i feel called out because i was thinking about flats.

Hitting one icicle headshot and thus forcing a highly important cooldown is a good trade though
Damn. I’m Jerry.
What about the lurker?
Has kept up with the game but played super late, knows a bunch of stuff but still isn't used to it
@@zel7396 I think that's after casual no?
Its weird that he said that only Hardcore is invested in rank
see i watched all the breakdowns of abilities and dmg numbers and overwatch content for literal years before i ever played, now im a new noob still
I’m mega burnt out and depressed because of Overwatch because the broken trust from OW2 and PVE
At least Emongg named his cat after me

Bronze hardcore player here. Quite the disaster
Highly recommend The Watchover’s channel. Always great
I'm one of the "Enlightened" ... nice

Ive been in the invested group for like 6 years now lmao
Love the vids Emongg!
I burned out in ow1 right after brig came out
I’m
Causal at this point but heroes like doom , widow , sombra and sometimes mauga make me try . They are so annoying
I think Flats hit Burnout tbh. I’m personally on Invested.

Playing since 2016 and still in the noob stage.

You should react to a Noxylicious video next lol
I missed hardcore by a few hours cause I'm only at 900 something otherwise it's completely the same to me
Especially a live service game ^_^
I strongly disagree with the video's premise that the casual player only plays "not daily".
Yeaaaa i cant wait to play some wolverine in rivals

Overwatch and apex is far the best shooting games atm. Sadly they Are ruined by stupid rules.
