I know that the captions are not always the correct words but it was enough that I understood. Music affects me in many different ways even when I don't understand the words. Been a fan and watching/listening to Lara for over 20 years. No other singer can sing with the emotion, tone, passion and out right what I call and aire of "tragedy"........she becomes the words, she has total "immersion" into the lyrics......who else does that? Typical first reaction to a Lara Fabian live show (especially from that era). Nowadays Lara is somehow quieter on stage. Still an awesome voice and technique, but somehow less powerful in her rendition. Late 90s/early 2000 Lara was a stage beast. A real interpret more than a simple singer. Enjoy this concert but also the 1999 “En toute intimité” show or her 2002 live concert in Paris. Some real emotional gems there. Lara is one of those artists who has a deep connection with her audience and fans. As she said one day, her fans might love her more for her personality, her simplicity but her wholesomeness than for her songs.

The song I'm Sick is inspired by a real heartache of Serge Lama, the story of a long secret relationship.
In 1969, the singer met Michèle Potier in Chamonix. Love is a certainty, but they are not free either: in 1968 Daisy Brun married her press secretary, she is married and the mother of a little boy. They love each other in secret for several years and promise to regain their freedoms, but Michèle hesitates and eventually flees and settles in Morocco for professional reasons. Lama is desperate, he wants to put words on his pain without succeeding, until the day he confides to his friend Alice Dona: "This story hurts me, it makes me sick". Back home, at the piano, Alice Dona composes in a few hours a melody [...], which very quickly she makes listen to the singer. It is a revelation and Serge Lama writes almost the entire text with a jet.3 He would later say, "The 80% of the song I wrote in 20 minutes is almost a shame. Texas les61 I understand. Im just saying like the emotion in the song overwhelms you that much, speaking you cant understand it is a little odd but to each their own. French is a beautiful language, but can be very complicated when coming to grammatical laws. Best of luck.

I know that the captions are not always the correct words but it was enough that I understood. Music affects me in many different ways even when I don't understand the words. I'm not sure why or how that happens but to say that music is a universal language and that is what I understand. Have a wonderful Sunday and week ahead.

In my channel dedicated to Lara and biggest fans, i am doing interviews recently to have opinions about it. It's all a theme that must be analized. But it's never late to be known, recognized and valued in music world and Lara's time is just coming up..after many years of career...she was practically swept away in a unfair way...

Perhaps one of the world's best voices and interpreters. I've followed her since seeing her in Brussels in 1996. She always stuns me with her rich, lustrous tone and the way she connects with her audience. If you roll that video for another 15 seconds past the end of the song you'll note that she doesn't come out of the character at all.
And she still has her voice where slot of her contemporaries have lost theres

Been a fan and watching/listening to Lara for over 20 years. No other singer can sing with the emotion, tone, passion and out right what I call and aire of "tragedy"........she becomes the words, she has total "immersion" into the lyrics......who else does that? No one I can think of....The whole CD titled Lara Fabian, 1999 was the best IMO.........

Typical first reaction to a Lara Fabian live show (especially from that era). Nowadays Lara is somehow quieter on stage. Still an awesome voice and technique, but somehow less powerful in her rendition.
Late 90s/early 2000 Lara was a stage beast.
A real interpret more than a simple singer.
Enjoy this concert but also the 1999 “En toute intimité” show or her 2002 live concert in Paris. Some real emotional gems there.
Lara is one of those artists who has a deep connection with her audience and fans.
As she said one day, her fans might love her more for her personality, her simplicity but her wholesomeness than for her songs.

I don´t know, why almost everyone don´t show the short intro, where Lara tells something and than the end, you see there, how Lara is still in this song...Anyway, always, when I see reaction to Lara, i press the like ....
In my head, I connect this Malade song to the one where the crowd sings back to her, as I know she struggled with mental health issues and crushing depression and suicidal thoughts; since it's CLEAR from this performance that she KNOWS the combined pain, longing, loss and even disgust (for both herself and her lover) that this song is expressing.
IMO that is the best performance of all time. Vocally, emotionally....Blown away.
