- The Norba RL35 model performing three compaction cycles, then driving away.
Havn't made any big progress since my last videos. The main difference is that some of the lights are working. Left to build is the container hoist system, and new side panels for the container. Hopefully that will be finished within a few months,, hopefully! ;-)

I run my system at 15bar. Ø7mm cylinders for tailgate lift, all other cylinders Ø12mm. Pump article nr. H0102.
Electronics
Transmitter: Futaba FC-16 Boat 'n' Truck (Not available anymore)
2.4GHz conversion: FrSky: hobbyking.com/
Reciever: Frsky 8 channel: hobbyking.com/

Pump Switch: Futaba, but I would recommend using a single direction speed controller instead.
Winch Motor: PGM12L, Fechtner modellbau.
Bodywork
Container Floor, Sides and Roof: 3mm aluminium plate (watercut)
and various aluminium U- and L-beams. Machined and/or cut manually.
Container crossbeams: Aluminium beams 6x10mm and 6x20mm.
Ejector Plate: 1mm steel plate (laser cut), and 6x10mm aluminium crossbeams.
Tailgate Sides: 1mm steel plate (laser cut), and 5mm aluminium plates (water cut and machined).
Tailgate Crossbeams: Various sizes of aluminium beams, machined.
Packer Plate: 12, 5 and 3mm aluminium plates. (Water cut and machined)
Slide Plate: 3mm aluminium plate (watercut) and 10mm aluminium plate (watercut and machined).

All the way to one and twenty seconds before I realized it was just a model! Amazing!
I just made one like this yesterday but it doesn't have an automated packer and no chassis or cab yet. This truck inspired me to make my own
Awesome, looking better and better. Love the tail lights and the small control console. A driveable replica... without having to touch it =]

Thanks! A transfer facility, with an overhead crane and a compactor would of course be fun. But the space needed for that is a little to large for my current taste. ;)

Please let me know if there is a way to communicate with you about how much you would want to build and sell a truck comparable to the one in the video. My boys love watching this truck and ask me all the time how can we go about getting one. This is one of a kind and you’re the man that can make it happen.
What do you use to make the little garbage bags?
Unfortunately, there are only single-acting telescopic cylinders in this scale. So I chose to use an ordinary double-acting cylinder instead. The result is the ability to position the unloading plate anywhere I want to, but I can only use about 60% of the body volume. But the 40% in front of the blade is useful for housing valve blocks etc. If I can, I will show this, but it is difficult as the inside of the body is black. The darkness "hides" the components that shouldnt be there irl.
Will you make a different truck once this one is done, like a side loader or front loader?

Thanks! I don't have any exact number of hours. But if the work in cad is included it is a few hundreds of hours.
If I could have had one of these when I was a kid :( In my day the models, even just the plastic toy trucks were quite limted in variety. Never did find an open rear loader.

Thanks! :-) Yes they are. The hydraulic system is manufactured by "Leimbach Modellbau" in germany, and I am operating it at a 15bar pressure.

Nah, it moves about 1/4 of a realistic maximum speed (25km/h if it were full size). And garbage trucks are just as fast as any other heavy truck..

is it strong enough to take a finger like the power of it?
+Aidan Dunn The packer moves downwards with a force of approximately 30kg, and the packer edge is quite Sharp. So I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it can cut of a finger. It would at least result in pain and probably bloodshed.
well I figured the finger cutting I'm talking about the amount of pressure cause it looks pretty serious of a truck!
Is there any trucks like this to purchase. My nephew really wants a trash truck that does exactly what this one does.
Unfortunately no, there are no comparable trucks on the market. The closest thing would be the Haller X2 rear loader from bruder.

They are made from plastic foam (like the foam in mattresses) wrapped in plastic from small trash bags. the plastic is then tied together with a string at the top. The foam allows them to be compressed, and then regain their original form when dumped out of the truck.

+Steven Rhodes Hi,The closest thing I can think of are the rear loaders from Bruder. Especially article no: 03560. The packer actually works fairly realistic in those trucks.If you want anything on the same level as the truck that I have built, I am sorry to say that there is nothing on the market.
