Hi David. I purchased your book (which brought me here) I am wondering, did you connect this skimmer in place of the hopper that you had set up originally? I am trying to understand how it's set up. Thanks!!
Hi Dave, I'me following your idea of making my own Pond Skimmer, but your video on you tube doesn't explain what youv'e fitted to the bottom of the bucke before putting n the piston, I can only assume its some sort of pump can youexplain to me what this is and how you installed it prior to showing your instructions on you tube, is it a pump or just some mechanism which is connected to a tube which eventually goes to a pump.... Regards Alan H.
Hi, I'm sure I'm late to the party because I'm a little confused. I thought your natural ponds didn't use pumps? But you plugged a pump into draw the water through the skimmer. Sorry to be asking what is probably a stupid question but can you enlighten me? Do you have videos of where you put pumps into your ponds? I am so inspired by you and I'm out here hand digging my own pond and really want to do a version of what you've created. I've Not been so inspired for a long time and I'm recovering from a hip replacement and building this pond by myself by hand is my fun recovery. Haven't been able to walk for 2 years so it's like a miracle and I wanted to create something for my little piece of property as a thank you to the earth. Anyway, sorry for all that backstory. Do you have a video that shows how you install your pump?
I believe he’s only using the pump for demonstration purposes. If you place this thing downwind it should catch debris naturally due to waves and wind moving the debris towards the filter.
thanks david, great vid. how would you deal with a problem i have here in poland, my land has been polluted by oil and diesel from generations of soviet tractors, how can i skim off the slicks from my swimming pond?
Wow, this is a very clever and easy to use idea. Thank you for all your work.
Thank you. You inspire me to put more films on.

made one based on this idea works perfectly thanks a million
Do you have a drawing of it?
Is this just using the existing draw of the regeneration zone's bubble lifts or does it have it's own independent air lift system?
sweet, thanks David....that;s why we need to stay and finish school boys and girls, it teaches us how to think.....if i can remember.....

Just watched. Thinking the exact same thing...
Yes, I'd be keen to know more about the pump. So far all your videos refer to and air compressor, not a suction device.
Want to build a skimmer. This video is great, right up until turning it on... How is it connected??? 🤔
Yeah. Where da pump at?
Love it!!❤👌👍🙏

Very nice, Great upload
Your the man. If you ever come to the central coast of California come hang out at our ranch and pond.
Do you have a video available that teaches about the solar system you use to run the skimmer? Thanks
No problem. ua-cam.com/video/libKVRa01L8/v-deo.html
@@naphtalilittle8720 That was helpful 😂

straw absorbs oil slicks
What type of pump do you use
I like this idea for a pond skimmer, looking for that crab net is a problem. Is there a brand name or link? Thanks for sharing.
It is all very well, apart from showing how it works.. Airbubbles, I presume, but where is the airstone, how does it suck?
clever idea
great video, what a money saver!
Well done
Hi, I like the idea of the pool. What is to stop mosquitoes from infesting the pool ?
+Justin Chapman Water circulation. Small fish would help too.
brilliant
can koi live in this as well?
Where the hell is the pump???
The lighter water from the air bubbler nearby brings the water sloshing over the net
Genius!
I really don't see this working. What goes in comes out.
Are you related to Howard Stern?
Too much plastic involved if you ask me.
I think he ripped a mean fart at the 1:45 mark!!!!
haha yeh
