I used to Senpai for Sensei for many years from a white belt at 15.. (Man, did Shoshin Nagamine make a huge stink about that lol. I had to be graded by the NA head of the Org. Ended up costing me my x2 grading and later, my black belt..) I taught the kids classes and assisted with the adult class for 3 and a half years.. Sensei made me his Senpai on day 1 after setting me to Sai and Bo forms for about 10 minutes. I loved every minute of it. Then, a family member that used to attack me all the time released my anger one day during an attack. Sufficed to say, I almost killed him with my talent. I hit him so many times I gave him a massive concussion and he couldn't stand for a week without vomiting. Having to come to terms with it, I quit teaching as Senpai and moved away when I had finally realized that Matsubayashi Ryu was in fact one of the most lethal forms of Okinawan Karate. I am still glad I learned it and that I was lucky enough to find a Sensei that taught Traditional.
