ITS SO BEAUTIFUL ,WHEN SO YOUNG PIANUST PAINT EVERY SINGLE NOTE WITH MOST BEAUTIFUL COLOURS! WHEN HE CARES ABOUT EVERY FRASE AND MELODY!! I AM ONE MORE TIME SO TOUCHED!!! BRAVO GEORGE!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Whoever edited this video was apparently trying to appeal to viewers who are accustomed to MTV music videos. Those videos emphasize rapid cutting and visual tricks that are probably designed to detract attention from the banality of the music, but Scriabin does not need this kind of treatment. The music alone is interesting enough, and does not need to be staged in this manner.
Beautifully played! I half expected her to get up from the piano and then when the camera pivoted back to the keyboard, I thought her ghost self would still be at the piano!
Excellent performance, colorful interpretation, the clearest sense and message from the piece revived all the emotion and the final music statement of the free soul and the full acceptance of the defied soul transcend, arriving in the total deprive of any hope than the last dignity, this is an historical recording!
Jesus christ what's with all the harsh comments? The playing was good. There was a lot of needless embellishment in how the video was put together but the piece itself was played well.
@@espressonoob I can elaborate. Sounded too "robotic". Not that she isn't a good pianist, it just needed emotion, like you need to feel and express what the Scriabin is trying to convey through this piece. It isn't all just fast notes and accuracy.
I loved the camera work: walking around the piano while the music still playing, shots of her expression conveying the emotional intensity at just the right times! Wonderful!
It's a percussive piece. I'd rather not think of a performance as "hammered to pieces." That's not a sympathetic characterization. Where to draw the line? If a composition demands the stove to be turned up high, is it fair to object if the water boils sometimes? This performance is wonderful and fresh yet expresses the emotional intensity.
What the heck with all these critics here? Are you all concert pianists who can play this etude excellent? I will be very interested to listen to this etude played by any of those "judges" here. This piece is very difficult.. But this is youtube, we are sitting in our chair and criticing even Horowitz, Arrau, Richter and other legendary pianists and saying how poorly they play and that they should do more of this or less of that. Too bad those pianists are not alive, they would be so lucky to take a lesson or two from all the mighty "pianists" here...
I agree of what u said. But why did she “needs” to pick this piece and instead of filming a live they need to edit it? She could’ve chose something else that she can perform well enough. I think this is most of the people’s point.
An attractive girl whos actually a great pianist. Shes better player than lisitsa yuja wang or many other female concertiser today. The music is enjoyably played not only finger show off like the others. So rare to find women who is pretty but also actually good music player.
A Very musical performance. I like that you don't over exaggerate the emotion aspect and let the music breathe very naturally, more so than many famous virtuosos. I think Scriabin would be impressed, but he might ask you to go a bit more crazy near the end...maybe, maybe not?. Actually there is an interesting recording of Scriabin himself playing this piece somewhere on youtube. Thank you.
Outstanding interpretation of one of the most difficult piece of the repertoire. Haters here probably can't even play "Au clair de la lune"... Vanessa projects a lot of power in this play without seeming to suffer at all...it's like she still has some reserve which is amazing for this piece... her sound is dense, that is great ! who can really play all octave notes on the left hand at this speed ? Compare to Horowitz's legendary presentation, where he really has to tap to surpernatural power to achieve it, looking like a poppet !
I've played this etude for years, and Vanessa has shown me new interpretive possibilities. Expresses the emotional intensity with subtlety. Love her playing! Horowitz does seem to summon supernatural powers. His interpretation awakened me musically.
However just one think i would of wanted, the end i think a bit flat emotionally, should have increased in passion but the first half better than many virtuoso versions.
She plays extraordinarily well! My only slight criticism is that she takes the left hand notes into the right hand. It sounds better when the left hand plays all the giant leaps: ua-cam.com/video/wGj9kT_lllo/v-deo.html
Why are there so many thumbs down??? Technically excellent (this is certainly the hardest scriabin etude guys!!) and musically not bad at all :) Pull yourself together guys!!
I'm curious about what would make this a noteworthy reading. How about like Horowitz and his insufferable pounding? Sofronitsky is I think what Horowitz was going for but never quite made it. Maybe this? I enjoyed this reading. Will Ms. Mosell perform it differently 10-15 years from now....yeah probably. Too many short-sighted critics in this thread. >>Sorry Alice Stanford, but not enough red dress.
Well !!!! that's the first pianola I have ever seen where the keys do not go down by themselves although the music plays on !!!! ALSO, I AM NOT INTERESTED IN HOW PRETTY THE WOMAN IS!!!! Alviero Cortez has the right idea.
Most of you criticise this pianist just because she is a woman and pretty. Also the way she is shot is not helping to focus on the music hence probably why you get negative. However, stop your bullshit she is a very good player and i am sure most of those who criticise her cannot even play that well!
Don't get discouraged by the dislikes Vanessa. I seen no problem with your playing whatsoever, it's marvelous. Probably a couple people who are paid or just disliking your videos for no reason. Its happening to other musicians as well.
I think that's the first time I've heard the closing peroration played really clearly - without blurred pedaling and nevertheless not dry! The video does this highly promising artist a disservice - her standing up and walking around distracts from the music and is simply corny.
Marco Rotondi
No chance Universal is really investing on this pianist . She has clearly no business in capturing the attention from the audience. The dress is cool btw. Forget about the music.
First, this is not "one of the most difficult piece of the repertoire". I can play it, and I'm only a medicore player. Second, this is a good performance, but in no way special or outstanding. Listen to Lugansky for an extraordinary interpretation (whether you like it/"agree with it" or not), for example. Third, who cares about the dress or the camerawork? Vanessa has made better recordings than this.
Not bad at all. I'd personally rather listen to her interpretation than the overrated Horowitz version. Horowitz needlessly bangs the keys and and gets ahead of himsef to where he looses control by the end. Vanessa: Check out my Utube and Facebook(josh pfeiffer) page. Really good version ❤

Drammatica interpretazione di questo celebre studio. Bravissima.
Excellent performance, colorful interpretation, the clearest sense and message from the piece revived all the emotion and the final music statement of the free soul and the full acceptance of the defied soul transcend, arriving in the total deprive of any hope than the last dignity, this is an historical recording!
Wonderful interpretation, outstanding execution! I see possibilities I haven't before! Brava!
Grande interpretazione!!! Bravissima
Bravo Vanessa
Jesus christ what's with all the harsh comments? The playing was good. There was a lot of needless embellishment in how the video was put together but the piece itself was played well.
It really wasn't a good performance. Not much emotion, just note playing.
Why are you talking to Jesus about this? Is it a religious matter?

Excellent! Amazing!!
FANTASTIC !
Bravissimo

This is an outstandingly good performance.Vanessa is a great performer. She is an awesome artist.
Bravo Vanessa, impresionante tu interpretación !
I enjoyed the song, its been 7 years so I can't critic. Nice job!
COOL!
bellissima granda bella!!!
Nice!

This is brilliantly played! So often this is hammered to pieces, but here the ferocity is channeled in to rythmic and harmonic energy. Love it! ❤️

they don't understand VEVO (MV-alikes) and standard recording?
The cameraman: Jesus Christ, that's Jason Bourne.
can't stand listening to something and seeing something else being played on the piano haha editing needs to be reviewed.
Brava
nice, wonderful, magnificent, most beautiful, picturesque

Great production for a common interpretation.
What do critics know of performing? There was naught wrong with that performance. Add a fin on the end of the dress and you have a musical mermaid.

the hardest scriabin etude???? it's one of the easiest of the "fast" etudes
I have to agree some of his unpopular and Unplayed etudes are impossibly difficult to play.
Just listen to the music, jesus fking christ. Why the hate comments?

horrorkitsch!
Experience this by closing your eyes and listening, the performance is amazing, the video is not.
The number of cuts in this video makes me wanna puke
Great performane, but I kind of hated that arpeggio at the end.
Yeah, that ending was odd. I've never heard any other pianist play it the way she did.
No...you need power !!!! Strength in left hand !! Go make Debussy if you don't have required power for this piece.

You probably use to technical sounding pianist ... Better hop off to kissin or lang or those other technical player
Great playing. Visual paraphernalia totally unnecessary. Scriabin does not need help to be enjoyed
A little bit too fast
Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin... check the piano roll of you playing it, Sash
Lol listen Kissin playing this etude. Xdd
Less red dress and more music, please.
I agree, poor performance indeed, sorry for her, but they tried to overproduce the video to compensate the lack of substance
A chick that is envius of male attention upon this girl, probably 😂

Pretty bad... Not enough power and emotions.
I do not think so monsieur Alkan,

Poor execution. She's an amazing woman, but she's not a great musician at all.

Overrated Horowitz version? hahahaha, now what you will to say? the Sofronitsky version is overrated too?
+La Lágrima sofronitsky is in a class by himself. He knew Scriabin better than anyone
Video editor has bad taste
it's not pop music to be the girl with pretty cover and demonstrate your body, just disrespect to Scriabin
Bad taste filming. Like a hollywood modern film cameras. It's not worthy of the music. The pianist is talented.
