In the second game, instead of sacrificing his own queen, Magnus chose to sacrifice his opponent's queen. This might be a more sound strategy going forward.
Magnus proving that you can play the Benoni at top level, then proving that you cannot play the Benoni at top level. Very creative plan from Rapport handled well by Magnus. Very good commentary well handled by you. Thanks James.
@@BongelaMnguniHikaru really comes off as very arrogant seems to look down on people that don’t play up to his standards I watch a handful of chess you tubers James is up near the top for sure
There actually has been debate over where Benoni opening got it’s name seems a fella named Aaron Reinganum wrote extensively about the opening it was said he suffered from depression and devoting his time to studying the opening helped alleviate his melancholy there’s also the Biblical reference where Sarah had a baby named Benoni right before she passed away “Son of my Sorrow “ the father renamed the baby Benjamin and than it was also said it was named after a player in the 19th century named Benoni
6:59 Magnus getting a good position from the opening _as usual_ ? I believe you have at least 20 videos out where Magnus plays a garbage opening to toy with his opponents and leave known theory 😉
I don't understand White's play in this game. Why not go for 6. e4 g6 7. f4 which is considered the main reason why the Benoni is suspicious? And why throw away all the extra pawns?
I hate this "magnus blunders" "magnus misses". No he didnt. Because no one is a top level engine. He didnt miss sh**. He calculates moves based on what the HUMAN will play. Which makes him the best. These videos are kinda trash because no one is thinking 1,563 moves in advance. All this makes magnus look like he misses so much stuff and hikaru said something similar which is a joke because hikaru loses every final. Magnus forces mistakes or irregular plays because he is the GOAT and puts pressures on weird situation that NO ONE sees until they ask a top level engine. Tbf.... if it takes a top level engine to spot mistakes and nobody else in the entire world, im pretty sure he does an amazing job. Theres a reason no one can beat him

You’re my new favorite chess channel. Your commentary gives the games life! The one liners are always hilarious as well.
Thanks very much appreciate it! Glad you're enjoying cheers for watching

There's another popular chess UA-camr with a brilliant subtle sense of humour, but I'm beginning to appreciate yours more.
What a fun game. Your comments always makes for a great vid as well
Magnus is not a man of sorrow, and not acquainted with grief.
If he Blunders his reaction is priceless tho
I love how the videos start witg the game moves right away and not usless stories
Magnus just keeps you awake lmao
The Benoni! Love to see it!! 👏👏
A nice double header from the epic cheese man of chess! Two games, zero camel toes, zero bathtubs, infinite wins!
The son of sorrow pours happiness in our hearts
Seems like a Risky opening
nice energy!
Nice recap, thanks!
At 1:42 knight to the edge endangering the queen but if pawnbtakes knight?queen takes queen🎉
The GOAT❤❤
Finally, a youtuber who doesn't yell like mad all the time. Thank you very much!
“Benoni” Defense - “Son of my sorrow.” Great biblical reference. Impressive!

Yeah sorry I realised how dumb that was when I said it lol, I was a bit tired today 😖
This guy is master of introduction in chess world 😂
Magnus leading the Grenke i think he’s going to just pull away from the rest of the players good to see he’s motivated
What was the actual translation on the last Kramnik vid? Unless you guys actually have beef now😂
Just Kramlik saying he will expose all the cheaters of the world if it’s the last thing he does 😅
@@michaelmassaro4375 it might be 😂
