I was in a dog park with my dog and Christopher Walken, his wife and a dog came in. We were the only ones there for about 3/4 hour. What you see on screen is what I saw in person, except, more subtle and more a listener than talker. Walken told me he was a Canadian businessman. Plausible, I can see Canada if I go to the water and the sky is clear. He was asking about a house nearby and said he was going to the coast to look at some land there. After they continued on their walk and I got home I looked him up on the computer (I did not have a smartphone then, only a clamshell). People in person look different than on screen and although I instinctively knew it was him I was not totally convinced until I saw a picture of him and his wife. I was a one person audience that day about 14 years ago.
In retrospect, yes, a funny one that punked me, however in person, he was just another guy out for a walk with his wife and a dog. He did say that the dog wasn’t theirs but a friend’s which makes sense. My researched after talking to him says he’s a cat person. I did remark that I really don’t like cats but after telling him I was allergic he eased up his look of displeasure. I then added that a cat needed to be respected and that’s how it was with my different girlfriends’ cats over the years. To coexist, I had to respect them and their space. That made sense to him and made peace. His wife called him Ronnie several times which I found during my research was his birth name (Ronald).
Fun fact, in the pulp fiction scene about the watch, in an interview he actually admitted that he didn't mean to pause for that long when he said "This watch " The reason is that he actually forgot his next line for a few seconds...I'm glad it happened, it made the scene even more intense.
His recent roles in The Outlaws and Severance are absolutely still show stealing. You are constantly wishing he had more screen time, I could watch a show with him reading the dictionary and still be entertained. Dude is 100% a gem, not the hero we deserve but the one we need!! ❤
His dance video to Fatboy Slim was when I really knew he was a genius... His stories are crazy interesting and his movies are great on top of that but that music video was just too cool
Excellent presentation of a very talented man. Christopher Walken is in a class all by himself. We hear so much about the politics of one actor or another. With Walken, it doesn't even matter to me. He is a gifted actor, period.
For my money, Walken's greatest single performance was as 'Johnny' in "The Dead Zone." Also Stephen King's greatest screen adaptation. Pure cinematic genius.
Hey Walken fans. If you haven't seen it, track down Who Am I This Time. It's a tour de force by Walken, directed by Jonathan Demme from a story by Vonnegut.
Brilliant video, great insight into the subtleties of a person most often seen more like a real life movie character, a voice to be impersonated. But the man behind that voice is much more nuanced than that.
If anyone hasn't seen The Outlaws I highly recommend it. It's a comedy series about a group of people serving community service, and somehow all wind up involved in much more serious criminal activity when a load of drug money is stolen. Christopher Walken plays Frank Sheldon, an ex conman who knows all the tricks in the book, he's fun and clever but he's living with his estranged daughter and grandson. He may be smart, but he has never known how to be a real father. While this aspect is only one of many storylines (every character has their own personal story) it's still fantastically written and performed.
I was fortunate to not have known anything about Christopher Walken when I saw him play a main character in the film, The Comfort of Strangers. Totally fascinating! I thought this was a unique character to that particular script (by Harold Pinter). But then I found out later, that charcuterie was not a Harold Pinter creation, rather that was Christopher Walken doing Christopher Walken. Which is okay. Pays the bills.
How on earth do your vids have so many views and yet only 13k subs? That's wild. Anyways I said this on your Michael Cera vid but this was an ez sub and bell ring for me
Thanks for the support Alex! I don't really mind the subcount lol, I think if I just keep making things I like and take my time with it, everything else is should follow suit. I appreciate the kind words :D
Walken has his own UA-cam channel listed under his name. He loves cooking and that is the focus of the vids. The content is dated, but who cares? I enjoyed watching him in his home environment.
You missed the point with the Pulp Fiction monologue. The first section is a rehearsed, word for word message from a father to his son, delivered by a loyal friend and cellmate. It is repeated in the tone and emotional content in which Butch's dad delivered it, and delivers the state of mind, speaking style and astute nature of the father. The second part is Walken's character being himself; slightly cruder, less articulate, but no less a loyal and trustworthy comrade.
That Walken gaze, inagine if we got Christopher Walken for the role of Norman Osbourne in Spiderman instead of William Dafoe that we know of, that be a seriel killer obsessed of Spiderman 😳
I'm currently watching your Hollywood video, and I'll watch this one, too, but I wanted to pop in and say I *promise* you that, if you keep making videos like the ones you're making, you're not going to stop growing. You saw the possibility with your Conan and Michael Cera videos (those are what introduced me to your channel), and I guarantee you that that is not a fluke. You'll hit those numbers every upload if you keep working like this, just like CinemaStix did. A single word of criticism to accompany this, though. I think uploading at 8:30ish at night on the west coast is not a good time for exposure. I'm no expert, but I think the ideal time is around 8:00 A.M, or 11 on the east coast. Perhaps do some research on that and look at when similar channels upload. But I'll keep watching if you keep posting :) Best of luck!
I appreciate the kind words and thoughtful feedback!! I deff get an urgency to get the vid out there hence the odd time frames but ultimately some discipline would be more beneficial. I’m happy to hear you’re digging them :) thanks a bunch for the support 🙏🏼
@@Renzy_YT You definitely deserve the support! And that makes total sense. I think UA-cam has an upload scheduler, so maybe you could just use that as a set-it-and-forget-it option. So, I just finished your Hollywood video and I have a couple more thoughts. This will be a super long comment because I'm not a concise kind of person, so I apologize in advance, and I hope you don't mind. Hilariously, that video was kind of about how it's nearly impossible to break into the mainstream without some sort of advantage, and here I was promising you that you will. I want to keep that promise, though, so I have some other pieces of advice that I am not qualified to give and that are probably nothing new to you (but just in case). For one, you mentioned in the Hollywood video that you made your Keanu video because you thought people would watch it and not because you wanted to. Please, please, please make the content you want to make! As much as I'd hate to see it happened, if you wanted to make car enthusiast videos, then you should make car enthusiast videos. This is *your* channel, not ours. If you make something just to appease a certain demographic or your existing fanbase, your content will probably be worse and you likely won't enjoy it as much. Find the things that make you want to put your passion into them. Maybe I'm just nonsensically rambling at this point, but I feel like I've heard so many UA-camrs explain how they used to do what they thought their fans wanted and they were worse off for it. To add on to that, work hard, yes, but don't overdo it. Burnout is real. Lastly, as much as I hate Gus Johnson, he had a good point when he explained that he would constantly post his videos to different subreddits and they would ocassionally blow up on there. He made short-form sketches, so it might not be a 1:1 for you, but if you can find subreddits to post yours on, you should. It can only help. Again, I'm not qualified for this, I don't know the algorithm well nor do I have experience with being a full-fledged UA-camr. I'm just a guy who's watched a lot of UA-cam, lol. But I hope you can find something useful out of my appropriated "wisdom".
As of late, fortunately I’ve been making the content that I want. You can’t always have it 100% but so far so good. And don’t underestimate the insight! It’s been great to read/consider. I’ll make note of a couple of your points 🙌🏼 cheers
I love Christopher Walken. Don't get me wrong. But he phoned it in on Dune 2. It really took me out of that movie. That, and Zendaya's "acting." Yeesh!! 😳
Enzyme, try narrating in a normal man voice, not some fake “cool” voice. And less talk, more actor star. Pro Tip: lose the annoying fake camera shutter sound any time a photo is posted… it’s irritating and distracting, and makes the video just noisy. Great work. 👍
this man has never played a part badly.. easily the best actor
Without doubt, Christopher Walken is one of the top 5 American actors of all time.
Great video , thanks for making this.
Ayyy cmooon Im christopher Walken Im talking with my haands
At Close Range. Christopher Walken and Sean Penn both at the absolute PEAK acting level. One of the BEST movie's ever made.
you're gonna get really big bro, your videos are so high quality
Hope so brotha, thank u for watching
Definitely. Great length

I believe you
Wonderful!
He’s a funny one isn’t he

Chris in The Deer Hunter is by far one of the best roles i've ever seen. What a fantastic guy.
Came for Conan a couple of days ago, binged your whole content since then…really awesome stuff mate, keep it coming!
I really love this guy, he's one of my most favorite actor
Fun fact, in the pulp fiction scene about the watch, in an interview he actually admitted that he didn't mean to pause for that long when he said "This watch " The reason is that he actually forgot his next line for a few seconds...I'm glad it happened, it made the scene even more intense.
video is phenomenal! fantastic video essay with nuanced takes. proud of you!! huge inspiration that makes me tempted to delve into content creation :)
His recent roles in The Outlaws and Severance are absolutely still show stealing. You are constantly wishing he had more screen time, I could watch a show with him reading the dictionary and still be entertained.
Dude is 100% a gem, not the hero we deserve but the one we need!! ❤
He is one of the most terrific, for my money. Im really excited to watch this :)
His dance video to Fatboy Slim was when I really knew he was a genius... His stories are crazy interesting and his movies are great on top of that but that music video was just too cool
Just fabulous!
He started as a dancer and uses his skill wonderfully
I love that video.💕
Excellent presentation of a very talented man. Christopher Walken is in a class all by himself. We hear so much about the politics of one actor or another. With Walken, it doesn't even matter to me. He is a gifted actor, period.
Okay, that’s a couple more movies I need to watch. Great video, man
The vulnerability he gives the Dad in “Catch me if you can “ is incredibly moving
i highly recommend watching Christopher Walken in Severance. it's a soft role and he is perfect in it.
In the film, "View To A Kill" he played one of the best Bond villains ever. He played a genius with a screw loose.
He is by far one of My favorites actors and seems like a brilliant man.
For my money, Walken's greatest single performance was as 'Johnny' in "The Dead Zone." Also Stephen King's greatest screen adaptation. Pure cinematic genius.
Discovered your channel like a week ago and been binging your videos. Great job man! You deserve a lot more views
Thanks Philip! I appreciate the kind words
I really like that you make positive videos instead of focusing on drama
Hey Walken fans. If you haven't seen it, track down Who Am I This Time. It's a tour de force by Walken, directed by Jonathan Demme from a story by Vonnegut.
Nice Video Mate!!
Brilliant video, great insight into the subtleties of a person most often seen more like a real life movie character, a voice to be impersonated. But the man behind that voice is much more nuanced than that.
One singular sensation! Christopher Walken! 💓🤗💓
If anyone hasn't seen The Outlaws I highly recommend it.

Excellent video! Love that you put a small clip from "Brainstorm". Great movie!
Who doesnt absolutely love him. He's beloved in all genres including the music bunch.
Oooooooh....I love Christopher Walken!!!🥰😍😍😍❤️
another great video as always, keep it up!

god i love christopher walken
Christopher Walken is my favorite actor of all times
Hands down the best actor since the golden years of Hollywood.
The True Romance scene with Hopper I feel is his best. Butch's lesson comes next. Just found your channel. It is well done.
His brief appearance in Annie Hall set up two really good laughs.
"Do you understand, THE CONCEPT of the tooth fairy?"
Well done. Great career, great acting. Never missed a shot. What else?
"The advantage I have in this business is if you want a Chris Walken type character, you have to get Chris Walken"
- Chris Walken
“Daddy Daddy, give me somethin’”
💥💥The fact that he has a very distinctive or unique look plays into his acting also.
No other actor looks like Christopher Walken.
Love him and his voice!
4:40 He didn't opt for a blurred back ground. The back ground is automatically blurred when the focus is on the foreground.
We love respect and admire Christopher Walken for his humanity.
We can ear from this man all night long. He got something truly special.
Christopher Walken is so great!
First time on your channel, got a sub and a like from me. Great content.
I can't wait to see him as the Emporer in Dune II
Walken has his own UA-cam channel listed under his name. He loves cooking and that is the focus of the vids. The content is dated, but who cares? I enjoyed watching him in his home environment.
I remember someone once asked me whats the opposite of Christopher Reeves and I was like bro, what did you just ask me?
Brutal.
Christopher Walken is the only person I can think of that has his own accent
Tommy wiseau
You didnt mention weapon of choice, that was also very well done

If anyone in this comments section hasn't seen The Prophecy. It is Walken's GREATEST performance ever.
cause, funny
we come in peace
Utterly fantastic. The movie also features Viggo Mortensen as Lucifer. How could you go wrong?
I cannot help, but to hear all the comments in the voice of Christopher Walken...
Thanks👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
"Put your hands up!"
"....no?"
"But I have a gun!"
"I don't care?"
Fucking sends me lol
Pure class
I f*cking love this man.
Through and through.
That Walken gaze, inagine if we got Christopher Walken for the role of Norman Osbourne in Spiderman instead of William Dafoe that we know of, that be a seriel killer obsessed of Spiderman 😳
Da foe was a great psychopathic Green Goblin, but Walken would have been an amazing sociopathic one.

The genius of a beautiful mind
A legend.
I loved him in "Seven Psychopaths" and in Fatboy Slim music video
The watch scene… is it
😉
“That’s it I’m walkin!”
“Oh you’re doing Christopher walken now?”
Ladies and gentlemen… FOO FIGHTAS
Banger
Walken is one of the all time greats but it's hard to put your finger on exactly why. Suffice to say he elevates every movie he appears in.
Mouse Hunt and The Maiden Heist, among so many others.
Acting Genius.
My favorite was Suicide Kings
"This guy kills people who disrespect him!! What do you think he's gonna do to 5 assho...4 assholes that cut his fuckin' finger off!?!?!?"
Ironically early 90's mel gibson tells a story about him being weird and possibly insane.
Such a loss when accomplished people don't have kids, its the only lasting legacy you can really ever have.
F! I'm older now than CW was in PF!!
His best monologue was true romance
Wow! If I had had that kind of money, I would live as he does. I am a widow of 30+ years. We almost made it? I'm good. Just saying.
How about Natalie wood? Still questions.
I love Christopher Walken. Don't get me wrong. But he phoned it in on Dune 2. It really took me out of that movie. That, and Zendaya's "acting." Yeesh!! 😳
He looks exactly like Jon Voight
👍👍
It's all about Cow Bells.
Nicky was also a junkie at that point in the film.
He knows about Natalie wood
The first time I ever got laid The Dead Zone was playing in the background LOL
Look up "Mel Gibson - Christopher Walken Story"
In my opinion James Spader is on his way to being as great as my man Walken
foo FIGHTERS
Two mice!
Natalie Wood
F more cowbell, f pulp fiction….The continental is peak walken
He learned from Gene Kelly. His small part in True Romance, playing Drexl Spivey, a white Rasta drug dealer and pimp, was mesmerizing.
Drexel was played by Gary Olman. Who was great too.
Huh?
If Mel Gibson’s take is accurate, then this dude is the greatest deceiver of all time
Suicide 👑 z!
The Trump cadence.

Lose the mood piano, Unwatchable with all the background noise.
