- BUILT MY FRIEND A BAR COUNTER TOP.Hey y'all my name is Doug I have been in the construction business all my life. At this time I do commercial high rise remodel that is why you see so many ladders, lifts, extension cords in the shop. My hobby and passion is wood working, that's what the wood shop area is for. Wow! Doug, that bar top looks great! It's hard to find big slabs of cedar in the south east US because once the tree starts to get older (and big enough to cut big slabs), they tend to split and/or rot out in the middle... And when you do find one it's really expensive... At least that's my experience but I haven't been doing it as long as you! HAHAHA! Thanks again for sharing your work with us. There are some vendors in the Canton First Monday market that sell large slabs of cedar really cheap.

@@fleetswoodshop3339 I am doing the "healthy Keto" Ala Dr. Eric Berg's UA-cam channel, you should check it out... it is an organic plant based, low carb lifestyle with moderate protein, and healthy fats... and that means steaks and other good stuff is on the menu! Yum! Personally I think it is very healthy from my independent research and so I'm biased that it's the best to do, I have been on it for years now and I'm doing pretty good as well as family and friends are also doing well; However I will say that not everyone agrees with him, and that's okay, because there's a lot of conflicting information out there that confuses and scares people... So do you own research, but check it out, and however you choose to do it I wish the very best.
So here's the key thing: it's about getting healthy more than the weight, I know that seems counter intuitive, but as you know: you heal from the inside out, and if you're healthy on the inside the weight regulates itself without trying. Bad food makes us sick and throws our bodies out of balance... so actually overweight is a symptom and not directly the problem. I hope that makes sense, there's no way can I condense what I know into a paragraph. From my research and experience The calorie restriction diets that are "Eat less, move more" in the long run sabotage your metabolism and are just miserable diets, Keto on the other hand you feel great (once you're adapted) and you have energy and never feeling wanting or constantly hungry... again I recommend you do your own research... wishing you the best and hoping you have a great day.
Ray that's a lot of good information my friend thank you I will look into that by all means. I've been doing pretty good on the vegetable diet. I was born heavy I think it's in my jeans and when I hit 15 I got tired of it and just went on a total crash diet and got down to a 28 inch waist. And was able to keep it there through all my younger years. But in the fifties it started getting harder and harder I eat like a bird yet I still stay heavy. I'll look into it my friend and definitely draw my own conclusions that's always the best thing to do and thank you buddy thank you so much from Doug
@@fleetswoodshop3339 Wow!!! Yes... I can sympathize with you Doug! I'm over 50 myself and I know exactly what you mean... A possible reason why you can eat so little but keep the weight on is insulin resistance, Again it is something that a lot of folks don't know about, my sister and I have experienced the same thing! It is diet related, and healthy keto "repairs" (or heals) this issue. This is something that I've had to conquer myself, but this is off-subject for your UA-cam channel and is probably something better suited in an email, if you wish, I would be happy to contact you and carry on the conversation there... as you please, just let me know.

Oh what a lovely Town my friend. There's two office buildings there that I do work on a couple of times a year. And I am drawing a total blank for the street name. If you come up the hill from the coast line when you get to the top of the hill there's a road up there with an Indian name. I forget it though. About once a year I have to come over there and do some work. every time I come I go walk through the blue ghost I just love that old ship. I keep telling myself next time I come I'm going to go to the Selena museum. I never was much on her music but I don't know why it just kind of touched me to be lost at such a young age. But anyway I get long-winded sometimes my friend so. Forgive me and thank you thank you buddy so much from Doug

@@fleetswoodshop3339 I have a couple Bosch routers and the Porter Cable type bushings but I am thinking of treating myself to a Shaper Origin, have you used one of them?
@@RDAUGIRD that is awesome my friend and yes. They are a wonderful tool. But the bits can be very expensive. And their little on the dangerous side you really want to use an automatic feeder if you can with a shaper. Unless it's a small one then absolutely use push blocks and sorry it took me so long to respond. I'm out of the country at the moment

Something I noticed, that’s I don’t believe I have heard you talk of before. And that is . The tightening bolt on the kreg clamp they don’t come like that do they?
Rod good to hear from you buddy and yes those clamps come with the bolt on the bottom like that. They made for that exact purpose you can't obviously tighten them once you hook them in.
