IRST has always fucked with radars since the update where manually switching modes was replaced with an automatic mechanic (back then the Su-27 was the most affected by this and it's never been fixed since)

that radar type auto switching plagues the flankers because i literally hold the launch key while locked on for it to shoot asap, and the radar just sometimes stays locked on trk ir, so my missile just will not launch and a lot of times i lose a kill
Btw, IRST issue was already in the game last patch, i was wondering wtf i did with my controls when i was trying to lock people with HMS PD and acquired lock in IR... And to make it even funnier, it was under 12km head-on. Had to record it and re-watch the vid a few times, annoying bug -_-

The Eurofighter shouldn’t bleed speed in high-g maneuvers. I remember reading an interview with a pilot, in which it was stated that the Typhoon will accelerate during a 9g turn at 500kn if the pilot lets it - which is consistent with the intake design, high thrust-to-weight ratio (.1.18:1 nominal, 1.67:1 empty) and the very high level of intentional pitch instability (16% MAC), optimal for minimal induced drag.

If they havent changed it from the dev server if you have anywhere above 15mins of fuel you feel like a flying brick likr you have 5 3000pb bombs but then if you get at about 9mins and below you just zoom and out monover stuff like the rafal but that was in the dev server so not sure on that one

The Rafale is unplayable in simu with its 32flrr so the Typhoon is not to be pitied... The aim9M remains the most dangerous fox 2 missile in sim and especially from the front. So playing the Rafale in simulation is of no interest.
The problem is keyboard flying lets you pull WAAAY too hard. This is an issue for at least both Typhoon and Rafale. You can pull insane AoA and Gs, resulting in the whole aircraft turning into a massive airbreak. It's basically an instructor problem, where they let us push waaay more Gs than we should be able to, getting the FMs into areas where they don't make any sense anymore. Both Typhoon and Rafale delta canards play on the limit between rating efficiently and turning into an airbrake. In-game, we just blast right past the efficient part of the rate curve and straight into airbrake territory. It's so bad we can't even play using the sustained turn rate because we can't keep the rate correct with keyboard whatsoever. This has nothing to do with slats (they just come out based on AoA, to keep the airflow stuck to the leading edge of the wing, minimising energy losses at high AoA)
I tested it here, and at 1600 km/h, the Eurofighter loses a lot more energy when turning compared to the F-15E. However, this happens because the Eurofighter can make much tighter turns. If it were to turn in the same way as the F-15E, which is somewhat stiff when turning, the energy performance would be more similar.
It's still kinda excessive if we compare it to something like the Gripen which turns tight and holds it's energy well - the EF should actually be a better version of this FM and not turn into a Mig 21...
What's really funny is that gaijin did the EXACT SAME BULLSHIT last year with the Air Superiority update, which broke top tier matchmaking and the meta because they rushed the update out the door in time for holiday sales. This was definitely one of the updates of all time because if it wasn't for the EF and the Rafale, it would just be a complete nothingburger since the rest of the update was Strelas and M44s for everyone.
They also murdered the Panzerhaubitze 2000 13 sec reload while it is widely known that in co.bat deployments it fires 3 shell within 10 seconds and the GTFOs because of counter fire. Like, at least give it 6 seconds with ace Crew?!?
The only good news this update : THEY FIXED THE FLANKER FLIGHT MODEL. (Mig29 is still garbage) (radar is still garbage) (R77 is still garbage) But hey, at least it flies now ! Rafale's and EFT's radar are woefully unfinished. Rafale is workable at least and it flies well. There's something very fucky with TWS however which seems to struggle to maintain lock and refresh target, and I think it's the case for most of the radars atm.

I jumped into the game as soon as i read that Su27 was fixed. It's really that much better... Still not fixed, not close to IRL neither DCS, but its playable now, im so glad of it...
IRST is so useless in WT, but it also gets in the way of using the radar. I wish there was a way to disable TWS IR seeker slaving and IRST, both just get in the way when I have to turn my radar off to make my IR seeker track something that isn't an invisible ball of chaff that my PD radar is locking even though it should be invisible to it
I had the issue of the irst taking over on the SU33(yes I ge’d I’m a sailor in the navy with a pregnant wife I don’t have the time to grind all the time). But it made me lose a lot of kills and cause me to get killed

Honestly, I get the radar switching between PD and non PD for a lock. But switching away from that to IRST when you’re getting a RADAR lock is just horrendous.
Yes, especially in the lower tier radars (but still relatively advanced), I actually enjoy when it switches from PD to SRC to negate a plane notching. But I'd absolutely hate it going to IRST.
Rafele radar is not a aesa radar in game, it behaves like a mechanical one, but in star card it says aesa, they really rushed the update, the only aircraft that has somewhat working phased array radar is su 34.
That's a shitty feature. I say feature because I wouldn't be surprised if this was implemented irl. Gaijin just needs to add a toggle switch and everyone becoems happy.
Possible the final straw for me unless they fix the Eurofighter. It should be the new king of dog fighting and really solid against all other top tiers for BVR... (at that point coming down to luck and skill)

I said a few times this update is basically slop just with the new jets, and they couldn't even finish the new jets. I love this game to death but this update style isn't gonna work long term at all. And the nerfs to vehicles like the Pzh2000 and the horror that is the prem HSTVL doesn't help.

When flying in sim, The Cockpit Hud does not have any symbology when you lock a target with radar OR even when locking target with missile

The Rafale is unplayable in simu with its 32flrr so the Typhoon is not to be pitied... The aim9M remains the most dangerous fox 2 missile in sim and especially from the front. So playing the Rafale in simulation is of no interest.

The problem is keyboard flying lets you pull WAAAY too hard.
This is an issue for at least both Typhoon and Rafale.
You can pull insane AoA and Gs, resulting in the whole aircraft turning into a massive airbreak.
It's basically an instructor problem, where they let us push waaay more Gs than we should be able to, getting the FMs into areas where they don't make any sense anymore.
Both Typhoon and Rafale delta canards play on the limit between rating efficiently and turning into an airbrake.
In-game, we just blast right past the efficient part of the rate curve and straight into airbrake territory.
It's so bad we can't even play using the sustained turn rate because we can't keep the rate correct with keyboard whatsoever.
This has nothing to do with slats (they just come out based on AoA, to keep the airflow stuck to the leading edge of the wing, minimising energy losses at high AoA)
You forget that this iris t is very good but it doesnt have the Iris t missile yet.
I tested it here, and at 1600 km/h, the Eurofighter loses a lot more energy when turning compared to the F-15E. However, this happens because the Eurofighter can make much tighter turns. If it were to turn in the same way as the F-15E, which is somewhat stiff when turning, the energy performance would be more similar.
It's still kinda excessive if we compare it to something like the Gripen which turns tight and holds it's energy well - the EF should actually be a better version of this FM and not turn into a Mig 21...

What's really funny is that gaijin did the EXACT SAME BULLSHIT last year with the Air Superiority update, which broke top tier matchmaking and the meta because they rushed the update out the door in time for holiday sales. This was definitely one of the updates of all time because if it wasn't for the EF and the Rafale, it would just be a complete nothingburger since the rest of the update was Strelas and M44s for everyone.

Rafale's and EFT's radar are woefully unfinished. Rafale is workable at least and it flies well. There's something very fucky with TWS however which seems to struggle to maintain lock and refresh target, and I think it's the case for most of the radars atm.

I jumped into the game as soon as i read that Su27 was fixed. It's really that much better... Still not fixed, not close to IRL neither DCS, but its playable now, im so glad of it...

IRST is so useless in WT, but it also gets in the way of using the radar. I wish there was a way to disable TWS IR seeker slaving and IRST, both just get in the way when I have to turn my radar off to make my IR seeker track something that isn't an invisible ball of chaff that my PD radar is locking even though it should be invisible to it

I had the issue of the irst taking over on the SU33(yes I ge’d I’m a sailor in the navy with a pregnant wife I don’t have the time to grind all the time). But it made me lose a lot of kills and cause me to get killed

Apparently they buffed the su27 flight models so it turns better now and the sm gets new engines from the su34 could you make a video on how much of a difference it actually makes in game ?
not from su-34, those are like 13k force, while the ones sm gets is 11.6k, it's like 40 more than spaded su-27s in stock, so a good addition I suppose

Honestly, I get the radar switching between PD and non PD for a lock. But switching away from that to IRST when you’re getting a RADAR lock is just horrendous.
Yes, especially in the lower tier radars (but still relatively advanced), I actually enjoy when it switches from PD to SRC to negate a plane notching.
But I'd absolutely hate it going to IRST.
Rafele radar is not a aesa radar in game, it behaves like a mechanical one, but in star card it says aesa, they really rushed the update, the only aircraft that has somewhat working phased array radar is su 34.
This is just a knee jerk reaction because of how broken the EF was gonna be, so they just nerfed it into the floor then pushed out the patch.
Apparently the Su27sm got better engines, "better turn" so i wonder how that feels now. Maybe from Mid to Decent.
That's a shitty feature. I say feature because I wouldn't be surprised if this was implemented irl. Gaijin just needs to add a toggle switch and everyone becoems happy.

I said a few times this update is basically slop just with the new jets, and they couldn't even finish the new jets. I love this game to death but this update style isn't gonna work long term at all. And the nerfs to vehicles like the Pzh2000 and the horror that is the prem HSTVL doesn't help.
