- Have had this footage since last year and figured it was interesting enough for a short vid. The only reason I could think for the 2nd animation was that I used Asterius, so maybe it's an end screen based on using that DLC Persona??

It's a nod to Asterius' lore. He's a self aware Persona that drives it's wielder insane.

@@Densdel I don't remember if it's mentioned in Persona 5 anywhere aside from him threatening to crush you if you let your guard down. But Labrys' Shadow, the original wielder, had developed her own ego unlike other Shadows. And her Persona became sentient from that fact.

@@Densdel A regular persona is, yes. But Asterius is implied to be a *true* Persona. As in, he manifests his own personality based on the creature his form is representative of

This could totally be a bug, but the best thing is that we know Joker is very good at changing the way he acts, and using DLC Personas we see different "sides" of him, such as his very sinister laugh when using Magatsu Izanagi(I think) and his "DIE, DIE, DIE!" with Asterius. This could totally be intentional, especially with Royal's more fleshed out characterization for Joker. I absolutely love it.

It definitely seems intentional, the only time you see such a grin is with the use of Asterius, the True Persona that literally drives its wielder mad.
Joker already picked the bad ending before Kamoshida.
Bad ending Joker the type of dude to steal Kamoshida's palace and make it his own castle.
That smile is creepier than 90% of horror movies
this just adds to my crack idea of Joker starting out as a phantom thief for the right reasons, and then continues on just so he can fight stronger and stronger shadows, and lives for the thrill of the hunt, and the change of hearts

I haven't seen it mentioned so I'll say here, asterius is a self aware persona and makes its users go insane. That's why joker also sometimes screams "DIE DIE DIE!"

Why isn't it mentioned anywhere tho? I've looked in a wiki that has info on all normal and dlc personas and this self-aware trait of Asterius isn't mentioned anywhere

I remember leveling up on of those persona and got a new skill and he would say MORE! MORE! MORE!
Probably because of Asterius. Asterius is also the reason Joker screams "DIE, DIE, DIE!!!!!!!!!", or "Time to DIEEE!!!!!"

If this isn't in the original Persona 5, then it's probably a bug. Does it exist there? Also I've seen creepy smiles like this before and they've all been animation bugs. I can't quite explain it, but I know that it has to be a bug.
Edit: from my brief stay in the Persona modding community, I've seen firsthand how jank the models and animations can be.

this happens to me a lot of times when I´m getting clips for build videos, this seems to happen in the last semester if you win while been on low hp, it´s not 100% though but when this happen I always had Joker on low hp, I don´t know if this is a bug or a legit win animation.

Is it random or is it tied to specific personas? Since each persona Joker controls represents an aspect of himself that he has accepted / is in control of it wouldn’t shock me to find out that his more malignant grin could be tied to one or more specific personas. (Or it could just be a bug lol)
The persona he used - asterius, makes the wielder go insane. So yeah it was that specific persona.
I’m actively trying to get this to happen so I’m going purely with Asterius the whole time in Mementos
I think this is an animation bug actually, in the game files there's only the full smirk facial animation, and the game just applies it to joker with a certain "strength" (aka not fully)
it seems that something made it fully apply the animation here
There is also different voice lines for when Asterius levels up and gets a new move, one is "hahahaha, now thats comedy"

Could you do a build for both Izanagi and Magatsu Izanagi (I don't know how different the picaro versions are so the builds may or not be interchangeable between both versions)? I like both personas, but I haven't really had any ideas for builds for them. I really like your builds and Ive been using your Gun Satanael build quite alot in playthroughs, so i wanted to ask if you could make a build for those two and maybe the picaro versions.

I'd like to think that this is the same thing that happened to Akechi where he starts off with a goal in mind (jokers being changing hearts and akechis being shidos hitman) but slowly, it's becoming... entertaining. They slowly grow more and more insane and as such, more and more addicted to killing shadows
