We are all South Polynesian brothers and sisters!I have Love for all my Samoan,Tongan,Niuean,Fijian,Maori,Tahitian,Hawaiian,Micronesian,Melanesian Family ect..!Island Love!
Micronesians and Melanesians are islanders but not Polynesians... I'm from Hawaii but only you would understand how we do not like to be classified as Polynesian with Micronesians.... I'm just saying...
+Nelson Teaupa Polynesians aren't ISLANDERS? you are a funny fellow. Polynesia/Micronesia/Melanesia are the names of the 3 regions which the pacific ocean is broken up into. so Polynesia and Micronesia can't be classified as the same land but still in the same ocean bruh.
Micronesian here 🇬🇺 my SIL is Tongan and his beother is 🇼🇸 🇹🇴 My granddaughter is Tongan 🇹🇴. My wife is from 🇲🇽. My kids are mixed 🇬🇺 🇲🇽. DIL is 🇨🇿. I'm WA born lived back home as a child grew up in CA. My IsLand is always what i call home. If it was up to me I would have never left, if i could I'd go back. When my nephews came from back home had tp school them. Big movement out with my IsLanders. Especially if you from CA u already know what time it is. Im Micronesian and big love for my Poly & Melanesian bros and sisters. We ☝🏽 out here, support and embrace each others culture.

I love coming here after a couple weeks to listen to this song.
in 1965 I was in peace corps training going to Tonga
It is a story telling by the composer stating: As the sun goes down. walking in this cool downtown called Taufa Street. Tune your steps to the Harp of Talieva. Whispering like a mute 'n lonely .. satisfying my restless heartbeat, and yes listen to the silver string(guitar) moaning. Chorus: sewing or stringing my sweet flower Fahina. A forbidden and untouched flowers. Your pretty face shines as an emrald from the never reached sky. Heilala(flowers) and huni(leave that strings together with heilala to make a lei) of this well known place called Umu Tangata.(Where a battle won and the loosers were cooked alive in this under ground oven.

This original song was written and sung by a Tongan band "Ha'ape 'o Tali'eva" means Harp of Tali'eva is the name of my granduncles homes that most of us kids grew up at and all the band members were my dad, my mom, aunts and uncles... The Mataele family which is also the Kontiki Band today is their roots. So, listening to this remake and remix by everyone makes me all teared up.. GREAT JOB GUYS and thank you for bringing back our Tongan Classic back to life. God Bless! Leafa Mataele
