@@JynnGaming no big deal. :) It was very helpful to have this refresh. I started playing today and was struggling since they moved stuff and I have no idea why the Poppin thing takes some people forever, but I’m one of them. I think I’m on day 18 or something and just got my third type. I thought I was missing something that triggered the dialogue with Pippin, but it seems to be kinda random? Or maybe you have to talk to them everyday or something to get it to happen. Either way your videos have been really helpful so far.
If you're trying to find a dino's favorite food flavour you don't need to do the whole process of elimination. If it likes something you give it just soothe it until it falls asleep. You can write it's info down while it's asleep and then check to see what flavour it likes in your journal then start the flute game again.
Another pro tip! If colan doesn't have carrots Owen grows some out the front of his house and you can find some on your way to town too.. just cross the stone bridge and they are at the top of the hill on the right ❤🎉 happy dino hunting everyone!!!
Another few tips that I only recently noticed: -If you can’t find a character, check their bio. In the locations list, where they currently are will be *bold text* , including areas you don’t have access to/haven’t written down (so instead it’s just bold question marks like this *???* ). It seems obvious but I was having the darnedest time finding certain characters until I checked the bio page and noticed the bold letters. Sometimes tho, Marlo will just be MIA and none of his locations are bold, so uh can’t buy any decorations that day lol. Pippin can do this, too. (Turns out it’s bc they go to a new area and you have to find them in this area first before other suggested locations appear. So if none of the locations are bold, it’s because you haven’t found them in that area yet but they are there somewhere, if that makes sense) -Once you open Dapplewood (and presumably the desert area) characters such as Marlo and Agami can now go back to their homes, and as such sometimes they’ll just spend an entire day in the forest and not sell anything (Agami consistently goes home in the evening though). This was very annoying for me since they would go home on the days I planned to buy stuff from them, so if you for whatever reason want to consistently buy stuff from certain people, don’t open the forest or the desert depending on their home area. *Deny them the peace of their bed and keep them separated from their pets c:* -If you want to easily switch a pen’s biome, the best way is to build the biome’s equivalent dreamstone and then add 1-2 decorations. I wanted to construct a forest pen, but all I had was the forest sleeping patch and no logs from Marlo because they require truffles (still don’t know how to get truffles), but I found a random mushroom planter in all the ranch debris and putting that in the pen instantly turned it into forest. I did it again but this time with the mushroom lamp in hidden in the same area of the ranch. In general switching pen biomes isn’t that difficult other than needing a lot of forest wood for forest pens and the easiest way to get a lot is to have a Stomper to break logs, but you can find forest logs scattered around if that’s not available yet. -If you played the demo like I did and tamed an Ankylosaurus or Woohoo, they will carry over into the full release and you can *technically* enter certain areas early. I haven’t even broken the rocks blocking both dinosaurs, yet since I have them, I broke the log blocking off a large number of dino spawns in the forest. Not really a tip for those who didn’t play the demo but I love bending the rules of the game and making it freak out lol.
1:30 Me who tamed both a Weurhosaurus and Ankylosaurus in the demo and had them migrated to the full version: *”I have no such weaknesses”* Jokes aside, I’m glad guides are coming out ‘cause while I learned a LOT of important info during the demo, there’s some full version stuff and items I dunno yet. Keep it up 👍
While I generally like the game and its complexity, I really feel it fails in terms of teaching you how to do things. I kept running around like an idiot for 2 days in the demo, not able to figure out how to make my Gally happy and how to make it ridable. xD
I agree, there are many things that are not explicitly stated or explained in-game, you kind of have to experiment and figure things out for yourself... Which is odd because it also feels very much like an "all ages" kind of game. I feel like that would discourage or frustrate some people and/or kiddos.
I am a bit confused about the idea behind crops and their favorite soil, At first I thought wow what a nifty idea with the soil types and rotation of crops, but in the end if you have your crop in the right type of soil, it still needs fertilizer, of the right kind, so that beats the purpose of the crops leaving a certain kind of soil behind? because the fertilizer also changes the soil to that kind of type.. If you get what I am trying to say XD I'm not english so bit bad at trying to say what I mean. EDIT: What I'm trying to say, is that in the end it does not matter if you work smart with crop rotation to get the right type of soil, because you will still need to fertilize the crop (if you want a better quality) and the fertilizer will change the soil type anyway. but this only counts for those of us that try to get 3 star crops. If you won't bother fertilizing then the crop rotation does make sense XD

For me at least Wuherhosaurus also spawned in the forest in spring (not sure if that happens every spring or I just got good rng as I've not reached spring year 2 yet). I know cos I tamed one so it could go in the same pen with Lucky and my Styraco and didn't require me to make an entire new pen to house it.
That’s common. I have wuhero and two styracs in a pen and lucky, the small ankylo cousin and ankylo in another. Just check whether theyre a pack, herd or loner.
Thanks for the video! Would you happen to have a suggestion on how I can move the dinosaurs to different pens? When I rearrange it says my dinosaurs don't have a place to sleep, but I moved their "bed" to a different pen. I had herbivores with a carnivore, and one of the herbivore didn't like that. I bought the game yesterday and it has a larger learning curve than I expected! Even the gardening soil is complex.
As far as gardening goes, do you know how to plant trees? I’m having a lot of trouble. I make a hole with the shovel, and equip the fruit, but then I can’t seem to do anything. I’m at a loss!

I actually recorded a entire video dedicated to helping gain a dino's trust today! Should be up in the next few days
The pippin thing is annoying, Iv gotten through like a month in game and only 2 flavors. I think it’s based of explored places
From what I can tell, you need to discover a dino that doesn't like any poppin flavors you give it, then the next day Pippin with have an "!" over their head and you can ask for a new poppin flavor. Hope this helps!
@@CatalystRaptor I’d say that’s it but I didn’t get the “!” For a new flavor like DAYYYSSS after I had discovered Oranosaurus pippin flavor
She'll be prompted to make a new poppin flavour after you try to befriend the Styracosaurus for the first time. Then, you'll randomly get the dialogue option to prompt her to make new poppin flavours soon after. The flavours you can get depends on the food items you can provide when getting any of the prompt options
Can someone tell me how to add a dino to a pen I need help
whistle at it to follow you, then take it into the pen you want it to be in
whistle to make sure you have its attention, and do the 3 blue notes
