Unpopular Opinion- Indian horror should really get over the 'Chudail' trope, I mean horror has so many components but we still focus on horror comedies especially the 'chudail' and 'baba' angle
Indian audience is not at all receptive towards true horror films!! The population of people who do is handful and horror comedies are much more carefree and fun, thus widely accepted by the masses. p.s. surprisingly the situation is quite the opposite in mainstream Hollywood😅
Unpopular opinion: Aamir khans filmography (both as actor and producer) atleast in this century is far superior to that of his contemporaries including srk, but he never seems to get his due maybe because of his noncholant personality or lack of heavy pr machinery.

Sid Malhotra is a prime example of pretty privilege. Although I loved him yodha & a gentleman. I would love him to do more action movies. He looks good doing it
Agree with the "pretty privilege". We need to introspect why 95% of actors and models are Punjabi, Kashmiri, Pathan, Gujarati, Marwadi, Rajput, Jat i.e. most Caucasian end of Indian ethnic spectrum? In fact there are more models from Morocco, Iran, Brasil actively working in India (e.g. ads of Manyavar) than entire East and North East Indian combined.
the lack of range has been consistent since his debut. He largely benefited from a brilliant story with SHERSHAAH. I root for him many times but it is the harsh truth
@@IgaSwiatekFan-ox9rn I agree with you but the thing is the people who are not considered pretty like nawaz, abhiishek and janvi also gets endless opportunity. I agree with pretty privilage. I remember Aishwarya was a very mediocre actor at the beginning of her career. But she got countless opportunities to build her career because of her looks. (Kinda like how nepo kids get more opportunities to improve). And her acting started improving only because of those opportunities she got. Ofc she's a great actress now, but her looks gave her a huge head start than what most actors get. And a lot of actions/statements are consistently viewed in a positive light. But similar actions done by other actors either go unnoticed or face criticism.
True and obviously the audience preferred a beautiful actor with mediocre acting over a talented actor with mediocre looks that's how it usually works . And yes Aishwarya did turn out to be a great actress but i wonder how many others lost that opportunity or never got any in the first place only because of their looks.
Screen presence is very important to get roles .. they are not just actors .. they are heroines. In our Indian movies context for heroines screen presence is important than acting...
Nag Ashwin after Arshad Warsi's interview tweeted that "He will work hard to make Prabhas, the best ever in Kalki 2"...Kudos to him for taking the criticism positively and I hope he proves this....And yes, I too enjoyed Salaar way more than Kalki...Yes, there were many weak points in Salaar too but it was also more thrilling and exciting than Kalki...
Agreed with the pretty privilege! See the main lead both female and male from the movie Sairat they haven't done as much mainstream work as you would assume due to their sheer talent. There are alot of actors that are talented but do not get movies because they don't look the part...its very wrong...years go by and we don't see actual acting talent. Many actors of the past have also not been given good movies so we miss out on the privilege of watching amazing performances and the actors miss out on showing and living their trueself their passion their acting. It's very sad
Jammy I absolutely stand with your rant. As Tovino said in one of the interview, if a movie works with audience it will garner fame , but if it doesn't work, then it will bring the blame. As a part of a project one should be ready to accept both.
Unpopular opinion but also popular is that there is a dearth of new directors and writers currently those who are there are not given the platform rather than we have to resort to Farhad Ford Samji,Ahmed Quentin Khan.

There is not a dearth of directors. Trust me, I’ve been trying to pitch them to producers/financers but no one is willing to invest on stories and new directors. And when I say new, they have enough, enough experience now! It’s heart breaking.
Unpopular opinion - Bollywood is more receptive to constructive criticism then South Indian cinema. And we should just stop saying its better than Bollywood while they have given such great stories but when it comes to criticism, Bollywood still has more constructive approach, IMO.
Aditya Roy kapoor who has Aashiqui 2 as his last hit film in his carrer is getting a raj and dk movie. While other actors aren't getting chances. The privilege 😂
Speak for yourself, I love the sense of gravity and world weariness that Aditya always brings to his roles that make them emotionally compelling and grounded.
@@Sun_rises_from_east Dude what are you taking about ? apart from jawan other two are avg films..jammy is a big srk fan but you can go back and see his pathan and dunki reviews he criticized both of them
The ban on youtube review ban will completely make the audiences not wanting to watch the films as today’s generation is largely based on the memes and tweets that are made about the films before or during its release. With this ban they might only be able to control the reviews and wipe off the truth that the film is absolutely nonsense but definitely not get more audiences to the theaters. Same goes for Pushpa 2 ticket price hike no one would want to put a 300₹ ticket for the films when we already known at which OTT platform we can watch the films later on.
Indeed. I am not a Bengali but it did not go down well with me either. Either go full on or don't even touch it. Kya nautanki hai! I liked the film as it was entertaining especially the climax but at places it was like watching one of those stupid Indian daily soaps where they make actors from a certain demography play characters from another one hardly putting in any effort to get the lingo correct. I hate Anupama but got to agree that Rupali at least has nailed it, the Gujju accent but then we have Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein where north Indians are made to play Marathi characters but speaking like a Punjabi from Carol Bagh. I have spent my life in Pune and irrespective of how posh the locals are there koi apne bachche ko 'aap' bolkar address nahin karta wahan. Baaki sab ye log North Indian Hindi mein bolenge apart from a sporadic Aayi, Baba, Baada to justify the Marathi background for the sake of it. Yahan BB3 mein bhi they have done the same by making needlessly making characters speaking in a fake and rather insulting Bengali accent and couple of done to death and cliched lines like 'bhaalo bhaashi' aur Manjulika ko Mojulika bulwakar they thought they included all.
... And NTR ka statement to ignore Karo aap. I am from South, Andhra to be precise aur yahan pe in actors ko logon ne itna sar pe bitha kar rakha hai ki they are not accustomed to slightest of the criticism irrespective of how justified it is.
South Industry shows just how tolerable and humble guys like Arjun and Tiger are, like those guys have gotten the most brutal of trolling, bashing and criticism but they have always maintained a calm and respectful demeanor, they might not be great at acting but as a human I respect them.
SPOT ON. I am from South and agree with you to the hilt. Arey forget the industry, even the stupid fans of the stars down south are highly intolerable. Because of the people like them many mediocre and cringe stars are still ruling the roost here.

Unpopular opinion:jawan was a mediocre movie .it worked because of srk stardom and people wanting to see him as an action star.If you look this movie separating srk stardom it was a typical atlee movie that would have been rejected by tamil audiences if it was made with vijay. The only good part of the movie and probably the most impactful part was deepika's jail sequence where she is dying but still keeps a smile on her face for her son.that was heartbreaking and best part of the film

Kanguva and Indian 2 were both bad movies as I watched them on CAM after so many negative reviews and I agree with their reviews. Most audience aren't dumb. Reason why Dil Raju is implementing the same laws on banning FDFS and early reviews are because Game Changer also made by Shankar might also become a disaster like Indian 2 and they want to recover from a very high budget of 4.5 billion INR and they need to silence honest critics and reviewers to make more money.
@@TriedRefusedProductions I don't think it does since the bad stuff throughout the bad movies are still present. The second half of Kanguva without loud BGM is still bad regardless due to bad editing, bad CGI, bad choreography, lack of emotional connect etc. Both movies are bad regardless of the changes.
@@TriedRefusedProductionsCorrecting the sound is fine, but trimming a movie based on the reviews, would be an unhealthy precedent for much more unimaginable scenarios. A scene of the movie that is not liked by certain groups, would be trimmed and re-released and the ones who enjoyed those scenes would not be able to see them - case in point - Meiyyazhagan (Tamil 2024 film) - where around 15-20 mins were trimmed and re-released later in theatres and even Netflix has the trimmed version only. Sadly, we do not have the DIRECTOR CUT or EXTENDED CUT versions of the movie release in India as much as it in in Hollywood. Also, we already do have Censor Board that censors the scenes which are not to be screened for the public based on the Certificate received by the film. Trimming would affect movies in a bad way than in a good way.

I mean the characters she played in her recent flicks like Gehraaiyan, Call me bae, KGHK and CTRL are somewhat on the same tangent and NGL, she did really well. I was absolutely floored by Randeep’s performance and the picturisation of prominent historical events. It was like watching a magnanimous play unfold! That movie is for archive!
Person from TN here 🙋🏻♀️ I grew up watching Tamil films until I diversified. Jotika’s post is unjustified & very pro-censorship. If she & the likes of actors like her husband can use their films as a platform to tout their political views & agenda, anybody who pays for a ticket has every right to give a review. At the end of the day, films in the theatre are a consumer product. TN audience have grown to be hyper critical, while also being mindless fanatics of the “big three” heroes. The duality is quite jarring. We still have a culture of milk abhisheka on 100ft flexes & fan clubs where people invest the money they should be saving or using to pay their bills.
I do agree that some people who are part of the public reaction videos after the first show of the film are indeed looking for their 15 minutes. They want to become a meme. So many public reaction people have turned into tamil pop culture memes here in TN.
Unpopular opinion- " Bawal was a good movie " it was one of very few movies to show the actual/true picture of what happens to a middle class indian married woman with epilepsy "
But the film tried to be more than that, and that's where the problem began. What happens in a middle class household is starkly different from the condition of total domination of which Jews (and others, with time) were subjected to, in the camps. And to draw any sort of parallel between them reflect either the ignorance of the filmmaker or (which is highly unlikely in this case) a maline intent to normalise such grotesque and cruel action. And if later is the case, then yes, film did exactly what is intended to do. but if prior, then it was an abomination. Sheer dumbness .
Bro everybody has problems in their lives but to get over and giving the argument that ohh their is more suffering than this doesn't make any sense which the movie tried to make
Kamal Hassan has done so many expeirmental roles that have never got the right numbers because of the audience's lack of understanding! But he has never once blamed the audience or spoke bad about them. It is weird coming from Surya and Jo who also have fair share of the same "mass-masala" movies that she described. Kinda werid that they keep whining about the audience all them time in recent times

Unpopular opinion - Jawan was a below mediocre movie overall. It felt like a highlights of SRK fan edits by a tamil mass commercial director. When the first announcement video with SRK wrapping bandage over his head was dropped with 'ready!' - i was so pumped by just looking at it. Imagine SRK with a badass look in an south indian commercial action movie - it sounded so good. I expected something like Kamal Haasan's Vikram. But Jawan turned out really disappointing. It had so many plots in the story which were not connected well and screenplay moved in 2x speed, there was no time to marinate the scene. Everything felt so fast. The social messaging of the film felt off. Overrated and overhyped for no reason. Jawan would have been a better film if it was just a commercial masala action film, with basic revenge plot and atlee not going maximalistic with everything.

The last line of your comment is just beautiful ❤️... Typical Bengali intellect on display there and yeah I am also a Salaar fanboy 😅 ... Kabhi kabhi watching Masala potboilers does not hurt. I am from Karnataka so slightly biased towards Prashant Neel too. 😊
If Salaar is on the same level, if not better than Kalki, neither should be considered, just another potboiler. However, I really appreciate your almost backhanded compliment, I damn liked it. Though I don't consider myself a Salaar fanboy, I genuinely love Prashant Neel's vision and craft.
I really love what pandemic has done to the film lovers. We got a taste of whatever we wanted from cinema. Pendamic has made sure that we had enough time to not only just watch cinema but also delve deep into the crafts, apprettiate how stories are told and above all, understand to separate nuances from average. So, after pandemic their was a huge shift in perspective and taste of the audience. Yes we have become certainly more picky in our choices, but that is not a discredit. It shocks me that the people who belong to the industries and underestimating the awareness in audience with good content and keep making below average things in bigger scales. and then conveniently blame the awareness and picky choices of the audience. they need to grow up as their audience had grown up
Unpopular opinion: people pay too much attention to nepotism in the acting field when nepo directors, writers, editors etc are not only killing the soul of cinema but also escape scrutiny.
Unpopular opinion : karisma kapoor is a better actress than kajol. The 90s saw a huge line of new female actresses like karisma, kajol, manisha, raveena, tabu, sheeba, madhoo, ayesha jhulka, pooja bhatt, rambha, farheen, ashvini bhave, divya bharti, mamta, etc. Out of all of them, the most commercially successful stars were kajol n karisma. Kajol always played it safe with all commercial films while karisma experimented with more artistic roles like fiza n zubeidaa. They both were equally successful till 98. However after 98, kajol got a huge association with kjo giving her a longer career as a lead. However she still did same kind of roles. I feel that karisma was a better actress than kajol. Also karisma was the better dancer.
Karisma is an amazing dancer. She has danced with Madhuri in Dil To Pagal Hai and Govinda in so many movies . Also she is a really good actor. She actually carried difficult roles like Fiza and Zubeida with so much grace and won National Award for Dil to pagal hai .
Salaar feels like Prabhas roaring comeback for me and giving fans the intensity we missed with ventures like Adipurush and Radhe Shyam. Prashanth Neel knew exactly what the masses wanted and delivered it flawlessly. To be honest, I’ve always seen the pretty privilege thing. I mainly noticed it when foreign reaction channels started saying that when they recommend Bollywood to people, they just say that it’s a bunch of good looking people. They’ve just built up a reputation for being more about stars than acting, even with talented stars like Aamir Khan.
Latrine had disaster written all over it even when the first poster was out and the teaser and the subsequent trailer sealed the faith of the film even before it was released.
I think again these TV actors tries to go for many auditions but actually are not casted as main leads they mostly are given side roles Shaheer Sheikh actually gave an interview in which he said he gave many auditions for other films but actually didn't get landed any role, and when he thought of going to stop giving auditions he got DO PATTI. Same goes with hina khan she tried to work in some movies, hacked and others but none actually could help So for sure they will not want to leave their safe territory
I don't understand all the unnecessary Aditya Roy Kapur hate. I actually enjoy watching him onscreen. At least he can act and has natural charisma even if he's not good at other stuff like marketing and PR etc.
Aasif sheikh also said same thing in one interview, he wants to not take risk at this age in bollywood and rather happy with bhabhi ji ghar par hai. He definately is one of the tv legends in comedy

Unpopular Opinion (maybe ) : But Luck by chance was a great film and I believe it didn’t get its due credit because it was released a bit ahead of its time. I have watched and re-watched that film and it is a powerhouse, because it has everything, it has good performances, wonderful cameos, great leading actor, great and (maybe) a true portrayal of the Hindi Film Industry’s harsh realities , yet the story was told so simply that you don’t need to think a lot in order to understand what the filmmaker wants to say ! I loved the film and have a huge respect for Zoya Akhtar for making it , because I heard that she had to face a lot of casting issues while making it as nobody trusted her enough! ❤
Even the music was decent. I remember watching the film in an empty single screen theatre of my Tier 2 native and mind you I watched it on the first day of its exhibition there. It came here in my town the next week of its original release date. Within 2 days they replaced it with an older Telugu blockbuster Pokiri featuring Mahesh Babu.
1. Kalki is way better then Salaar. 2. Bhushan Kumar should stop Bhool Bhulaiya Cringe Comedy. If we wants he should release this at his home. 3. Rare TV Actors are Risktakers.
I disagree. Kalki was a boring shitshow with Big B and Deepika being the saving grace.. only the last 20 or so minutes probably made it worth watching! Salaar meanwhile may not be great but it was exhilarating to watch from start to the end! Prabhas was being ‘Prabhas’ in that movie which is not the case with Kalki!
Unpopular opinion - Despite absolutely hating prashanth neel's filmmaking style from KGF and now Salaar. I still think Salaar was a better film than Kalki - considering atleast it was what director wanted it to be and maintains a tone from start to end. I may not like how neel presents his stories through loud editing but he builds empires, hierarchy, wepons and rules really great. Kalki on the other hand, felt some good bits and pieces here and there sprinkled in climax and introduction with unnecessary scenes. But Salaar was throughout what it was intended it to be. Salaar > Kalki, any day.
Lovely comment yet again. I have not watched Kalki and am not interested in watching it either but I enjoyed Salaar much to my own surprise. At times when we do things impromptu without giving much of a prior thought or do / see things or movies for that matter, the end results turns out to be a pleasantly surprised one. Recently I watched Bhool Bhulaiya 3 without much expectations and actually ended up enjoying the film while I had pinned lots of hopes on Stree 2 but could not really quite fall in love with the film. I watched the film in theatre more than 2 months after its release (just a week before it was released on OTT ... What a waste of money 😢) and I was wondering what the hoopla was all about Stree 2! It was a decent watch and I liked it as a whole as a timepas film but I liked BB3 more entertaining even with the slapstick comedy and the emotionally charged up climax was an added bonus. The only time I liked Kartik in the film although he looked so weird in the dancer get up. Meanwhile my wife and kids liked BB3 too but they absolutely went bonkers with Stree 2. Isi liye sab chalta hai. Hota hai, duniya hai😅

Unpopular opinion - Kantara and Lapataa Ladies worled for me, after giving them a second watch. This isn't a unpopular opinion but i feel, sometimes when you see a film because of the hype generated around it - your expectations touch sky. Finally when you start watching it, it didn't feel alright. Both of the films i mentioned above were much better in second rewatch because i knew what to expect. Watching movies early works better lol.

Watched Brahmayugam last night. Why doesn't bollywood make such masterpieces, and if they ever attempt something similar, why don't people go to the theatres to watch?
At least in the telugu states salaar >> kalki (same for me) . As both films introduce the new worlds and characters but salaar is more rewatchable as it has more story and more plot to look forward to and this where nag ashwin could learn as more info or more world building for kalki would have helped the movie rewatchabilty then the stretched comedic content . But both films serve different audiences kalki (family /childs) salaar (R-rated )
Reasons behind casting beauty pageant winners are actors, 1)They look conventionally Good 2)wants crowd pull on the popularity of the recent Winners 3) thrive on the curiosity of public.. who want to see.. how those Winners will look/perform on Big Screen.. 😅
I watched your podcast with Shaan and PJ and thoroughly enjoyed the insights you shared. It would have been great if you had also discussed Rajamouli's collaboration with Mahesh Babu and delved deeper into the stardom of Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun. By the way, I’m eagerly looking forward to SSMB29!
Unpopular Opinion on the Salaar>>>Kalki is spot on. I guess, it is due to how each movie leaves us feeling at the end. While Salaar's world building is settled by the end of the movie, Kalki's barely begins even minutes prior to the climax. By the end of Salaar we are already hyped for the war that is set up. Whereas in Kalki we are just done with establishing the characters. However Nag Ashwin's dedication shines throughout the project and the love he harbours for it is evident through the detailed and articulate nature of the world building. But it was too little for the audience to grab onto. He may have the idea/hype for the story in his head, but we are not privy to it. All we see is the potential. Hope both the films' sequal blows our mind.
I think it's the originality of Salaar over an adaptation of an existing tale in Kalki that is making it interesting, we've seen multiple interpretations of Mahabharat through various media but have we heard of the Khansaar tribes before?
@@harshagrawal1056 He had his means to enter BW. Google about his parents profession and their connections with political parties. Don't buy the whole outsider tag.
You said that salaar is better than kalki. That's because kalki is made for science fiction fans. And as a sci fi fan I really enjoyed the world building and excited about the kalki cinematic universe. As for Prabhas's comedy thing and how he is introduced more than 15 times in the same fight scene I like to pretend that doesn't exist. I wish they told us more about yaskin's backstory and how the complex got stronger than the entire world.
Conventional Looks ain't the first criteria to hire artists/actors in Hollywood because movies n roles across diverse genres n unique storylines r actually given acclaim n attention. In a sitcom or a horror movie, unique features over conventional ones r given priority. But In India its bloody opposite. U think Aditi Rao, Janhavi Kapoor, Shruti Haasan would get work with their untouched faces!? Fame is far fetched, they'd be bullied by Indian men on instagram. Meryl Streep is acclaimed solely on basis of her work while Aishwarya Rai didn't do shit to achieve beauty , she was born with it, my point being artists like Radhika Apte , Rasika Duggal, Kalki koechlin should be given enough leverage to be recognized by the west not mere pretty faces like deepika , aishwary Since deserving artists aren't getting leverage from audience,it's obviously a risk for directors to actually put some thought into the art their creating since audience ain't giving love ( Qala for instance).
You should listen to Naga Vamsi, a telugu producer saying that a family spending 1500rs to watch a movie in theater for 3hrs is the cheapest form of entertainment, the way he was justifying ticket price was ridiculous. I feel the Indian audience have evolved in terms of content consumption & it's high time these movies makers understand and work on truly entertaining the audience
12:16 salaar is way better than Kalki. It might be a mass action movie with a limited amount of substance, but it managed to do what Kalki couldn't, which is consistently entertaining me. My family watched Kalki in the theatres, and my Dad literally wanted to leave by halftime because he was so bored, but as I saw your and Shan's reviews, I told him to wait as it would get better in the second half. On the other hand, my Dad has watched Salaar so many times that he literally watched it thrice in one day. So yes, Salaar was much better than Kalki
Films are made for the audiences. If the film doesn't connect with the audiences, then they will respond it has negative, Even if the makers and actors feel it's a good film.
I Agree With You Jammy And I Personally Think Salaar Is A Good Movie It Had Some Problems But Its Positives Outdo Its Negatives. Prashant Neels World Building, Bhuvan Gowda Cinematography, Ravi Basur BGM And Prabhas Screen Presence Were All Highlights Of The Movie. Crazily Salaar Is One Of Those Few Movies Whose Rewatchibility Is Very Good, In India Its Trending On OTT For Around 300 Days While In Countries Like Korea, Japan, USA And UK Salaar's Watch Rate Is Highest Compared To Any Indian Movie. I Think Salaar Got A Lot Of Unnecessary Hate During Its Release...
Unpopular opinion - Kill was just meh/mid/okay-ish action film promoted as most brutal and bloody action film ever made. Action choreography choppy, i get it was shot in train but they could've gave us a single one-shot no-cuts action set-piece. There was not a single action block i remember from the film. I expected a lot more from a film that got so many postive reviews all over the globe. It was a just a decent action film with some punches, kick and throwing accessories on one another with some blood.

@@manav6721 no but he has a point there were too many cuts in the action scenes. It is a good action film but definetly not as good as people were hyping it to be.
What happened with me and a majority of people I beleive that during theatrical run of kalki we were mesmerized seeing such visuals and Mahabharata that nothing else striked us but later releasing that kalki lacks emotions and an engaging screenplay While the opposite happened with salaar not many liked it during its theatrical run but are loving it on the ott(salaat hindi version is still trending on Disney+hotstar since its release and the most premiered movie on television is salaar) part 2 going to be huge
Regarding banning youtubers in theaters to get the review of the movie on the first day, I can understand why the producer council would take that decision. Some people are down right bashing in an illtreat manner. Honestly, they are doing it for the fame and getting viral among the meme creators which is saturated now. If the movie is good, it is going to reflect on the masses going for the movie no matter what.
Jammy. In the Tamil Nadu it’s actually a huge issue. Irrespective of Kanguva, Indian 2 or Vettaiayan, there are a lot of movies where fake negative reviews are edited and uploaded onto UA-cam. This happened recently with thangalaan which was actually a good movie but because of such scams it was let down 😊
That's what I mean tho by a slippery slope. You take one example and create an outright ban for everything else, can only cause harm for good films that have a chance of a good word of mouth. Thangalaan honestly has its set of problems but censorship will never be the right answer

Agree with the "pretty privilege". We need to introspect why 95% of actors and models are Punjabi, Kashmiri, Pathan, Gujarati, Marwadi, Rajput, Jat i.e. most Caucasian end of Indian ethnic spectrum? I agree with pretty privilage. I remember Aishwarya was a very mediocre actor at the beginning of her career. But she got countless opportunities to build her career because of her looks. (Kinda like how nepo kids get more opportunities to improve). And her acting started improving only because of those opportunities she got. Ofc she's a great actress now, but her looks gave her a huge head start than what most actors get. And a lot of actions/statements are consistently viewed in a positive light. But similar actions done by other actors either go unnoticed or face criticism.
True
True and obviously the audience preferred a beautiful actor with mediocre acting over a talented actor with mediocre looks that's how it usually works . And yes Aishwarya did turn out to be a great actress but i wonder how many others lost that opportunity or never got any in the first place only because of their looks.

And "audiences were more forgiving back in the day". Wow 👏👏

Sadly, we do not have the DIRECTOR CUT or EXTENDED CUT versions of the movie release in India as much as it in in Hollywood.

But he has never once blamed the audience or spoke bad about them. It is weird coming from Surya and Jo who also have fair share of the same "mass-masala" movies that she described. Kinda werid that they keep whining about the audience all them time in recent times
Unpopular opinion - Housefull 3 is as good as Housefull and Housefull 2, if not better. Its Housefull 4 where the downfall started of the series.
I love every housefull movie but my favourite one is housefull 2

I like all 4. They are fun watch. Some people in audience dont care about continuity, creativity. We just want to get entertained!
I really love housefull 3
Shraddha kapoor is a prime example of pretty priviledge
Shraddha does quite well in some films she got.
@ no she’s always playing the bubbly chirpy girl next door in all her roles…
Both Khuda Hafiz movies are good, the story, the songs and the performances all make it worth your time. I hope Dharma does not stop trying different things like Kill and Jigra, those were breaths for fresh air this year but went largely unnoticed.

Jawan was a below mediocre movie overall.
It's not an unpopular opinion. South Indians hate that movie
@@JohnnyJustice777 and bollywood fans who used to make fun of south indian movies for the same elements, started praising Jawan just because SRK was in it. I wanted to see SRK in that massy look but Jawan was a mess.

I loved kalki . Every scene felt so high standard (actually felt like watching a hollywood movie) ,mahabharat and kaliyug are literally the story lines of movie . That is what kalki is about .I even liked bhairava characterization too . He is the no nonsense guy who doesnt care about anyone but himself and going to complex . Even the comedy worked in telugu states without being doible meaning or insulting . And yes salaar and kalki are both my favourites . Loved the video jammy .No hate . Just my opinion . Peace🙏
Its quite simple...if u make good movies audience will watch....cant make somethin like devara which was absolute crap and say ppl are too critical of entertainment these days...a bad movie is a bad movie...instead of finding fault in audience taste, why not make good movies....good movies have always been appreciated by the audience ....
a good movie doesn't always guarantee box office success
devara , gadar2 , pathaan despite getting negative perception from critic earned lot of money , reviews dont impact movies as much as producer think

Kalki felt awesome at first watch. I guess I was hyped about the Mahabharata integration in the movie. I tried watching it a second time on OTT but got really bored and could not finish watching it. It's weird!!
The same happened to me with Dangal. When I first watched it at Urvashi in Bangalore I was blown away and gave 5 stars in my review on my FB wall. Now when I try to re-watch it on TV I start to get bored. OTT pe to lagata bhi nahin main ise.

Unpopular opinion Some TV actors can't give up their stardom and cannot grow up... Mukesh Khanna as Shaktiman is a PRIME example who simply don't want to pass the lantern of Shaktiman to some young actors who could do a good job.
Hollywood is fallen for looking down on audience
Next Indian Film Industry going in same direction
Sucks that Suriya is so awful at consistently picking good scripts. He's one of the finest actors in the country, and could be on the same level as Vijay Sethupathi if he picked good movies.
Unpopular opinion: Deepika is the most overrated actress in Bollywood. The only thing that changes is ech film is her makeup/hair/style which makes her look "versatile" on the outside. But when you look at her face and emotions, its the same in literally every scene. She got lucky with box office and getting paired with huge stars. she has still yet to prove her acting talent
Same for nayanthara too.
I do agree
I also agree and also Ranveer Singh's Comedy sucks.

unpopular opinion : KAABIL WAS A MASTERPIECE
I loved Kaabil. It was far more engaging than Raees that released the same day. I went bonkers when the teaser of Raees was out lekin film release hote hote lagne laga choona lagayegi ye film and I hated the teaser of Kaabil and although the trailer looked slightly better I still had my doubts but still went to see the film and now it has become one of those very few films which I can re-watch without getting bored. HR was brilliant in the film. Another film jiske trailer se main nirash hua tha lekin film bahut enjoy ki was Tiger Zinda Hai. Baaki jinke trailers ghatiya lage wo films bhi ghatiya hi nikli 😅
I have seen both Salaar and Kalki on my PC. Before Kalki, I had experienced Salaar, and right after the credits, I said to myself, "This is the greatest blue ball in the history of Cinema that I know and love." Now, Jammy just very covertly embraced my statement.
@ShreyaGupta28993 right. She left films at her peak n got married. If she had continued acting perhaps she could have achieved a lot more
Salaar feels like Prabhas roaring comeback for me and giving fans the intensity we missed with ventures like Adipurush and Radhe Shyam. Prashanth Neel knew exactly what the masses wanted and delivered it flawlessly. Imagine a three-hour-long movie where he speaks for barely 2-3 minutes, yet commands every frame with his sheer presence.Thats the aura prabhas holds .
Yes, salaar had a really good world building by prashanth Neel, which makes me excited for the 2nd part. But still I feel bad about how it underperformed in the box office, it should have easily crossed the 1000 crore target
@@sharafuddintharamasi7621why u feeling bad Mamu? They ain't paying u a single penny out of that. Come on, stop getting overtly (and needlessly) emotional on something so frivolous. The film made ample profit for Hombale films. I too liked Salaar but there have been movies which deserved to earn more money yet they could not due to the indifferent attitude of the audience, especially in the Kannada film industry.
Well the reason Vettaiyan was clubbed with Kanguva and Indian 2 was because even that was a commercial flop, apparently the budget was 300 crores and it made only about 250 crores, even SK's Amaran outgrossed Vettaiyan
Both the parts of Khuda Hafiz are really underrated. I am glad that people started to dislike so called masala films like Kanguva and Latrine.
Latrine had disaster written all over it even when the first poster was out and the teaser and the subsequent trailer sealed the faith of the film even before it was released.
I think again these TV actors tries to go for many auditions but actually are not casted as main leads they mostly are given side roles
Shaheer Sheikh actually gave an interview in which he said he gave many auditions for other films but actually didn't get landed any role, and when he thought of going to stop giving auditions he got DO PATTI.
Same goes with hina khan she tried to work in some movies, hacked and others but none actually could help
So for sure they will not want to leave their safe territory
I don't understand all the unnecessary Aditya Roy Kapur hate. I actually enjoy watching him onscreen. At least he can act and has natural charisma even if he's not good at other stuff like marketing and PR etc.
Aasif sheikh also said same thing in one interview, he wants to not take risk at this age in bollywood and rather happy with bhabhi ji ghar par hai. He definately is one of the tv legends in comedy
I feel like we need more singers in Bollywood,I’m tired of Arijit singing everything mainstream song, whatever may the emotion of the song be. Yes we know how great of a range he has in his singing but please, enough is enough.
Thanks for taking up the subject. I am a Bengali girl and because of Bhool Bulaiya people thinks all Bengali girls know black magic. But that’s not the scenario.
The transition at 4:50 really freaked my guts out!

"When mediocrity is set as the standard, rubbish is accepted & celebrated."
We're used to consume cinema which is marinated in mediocrity & now there's censorship. WoW.
I agree with you, Salaar 1 over Kalki 1. But lets see what the 2nd parts fo.
@@cinevanshi Kalki is a wholesome entertainer 🤍
Unpopular opinion -
Despite absolutely hating prashanth neel's filmmaking style from KGF and now Salaar.
12:45 I personally feel a movie like Salaar can be such an amazing webseries.
even though both Kalki and Salaar had many hook scenes Salaar makes up for the 3hr by 2nd half it just wins the comparison.🙃🤔

Kantara and Lapataa Ladies worled for me, after giving them a second watch.

Reasons behind casting beauty pageant winners are actors,
1)They look conventionally Good
2)wants crowd pull on the popularity of the recent Winners
3) thrive on the curiosity of public.. who want to see.. how those Winners will look/perform on Big Screen.. 😅

Nope 👎
I think it's the originality of Salaar over an adaptation of an existing tale in Kalki that is making it interesting, we've seen multiple interpretations of Mahabharat through various media but have we heard of the Khansaar tribes before?

@cocaa_colaaa Yeah.. Tripti dimri prolly can Vidya Balan, Tabu , Kangana can but logon ko toh bas good looks ke peeche bhagna hai
True. NV has the worst takes in TFI
I loved Ananya in call me bae and CTRL. She has shown that she can play diverse characters. She is versatile.
No 😅 I enjoyed Kalki more
@Annoyed792 to each their own
12:29 I still feel that The only good thing about Aswathama in Kalki was just ABs presence, everything else was underwhelming.

Kill was just meh/mid/okay-ish action film promoted as most brutal and bloody action film ever made.

Salaar is like a slow poision which feels good every time you watch it, the action never seems over the top and suits prabhas cinematography
What happened with me and a majority of people I beleive that during theatrical run of kalki we were mesmerized seeing such visuals and Mahabharata that nothing else striked us but later releasing that kalki lacks emotions and an engaging screenplay
While the opposite happened with salaar not many liked it during its theatrical run but are loving it on the ott(salaat hindi version is still trending on Disney+hotstar since its release and the most premiered movie on television is salaar) part 2 going to be huge
Kalki 2 will be more bigger than salaar 2
How do you find out a review is “ fake “ ? Someone could not like a popular movie
