Jasmine Carson #2 for LSU was very hot. I don't believe she missed but one shot, and it was a free throw! She mostly hit 3 pointers, not missing a throw, along with several 2 point shots. She played phenomenally.
@@bobdavis9440 19-18 in fouls called yeah real lopsided. whiner😢Maybe the big ten teams should learn how to play defense. It was not the refs that left shooters open with nobody within ten feet of them.
They'll have to keep waiting because the only way they can address the Tigers from this point is National Champion LSU. And next season it's still Defending National Champion LSU.
When she says that, there's something annoying yet exhilarating and exciting about it. What can they say? Weak schedule? Weak SEC? Not enough offense? It was all answered with the most points in title game history. LSU is the undisputed National Champion, that's all that can be said.
The better team won, period. The officiating was not worthy of a Championship game but the referees didn't give LSU 102 pts. Simply put, Magic Johnson said it best when he said LSU was the more talented team. Iowa's players- including Clark- couldn't guard LSU's players. Caitlin Clark was forced to play defense and she rarely went into the lane because people were waiting. Look, I cheered for Iowa all season and Caitlin Clark is a phenom. She just needed more help. Kim Mulkey said it best when she said that Caitlin makes other people better. She does, but Iowa was exposed... the other Iowa players were left out to dry when Caitlin couldn't create for them or set them up...while LSU had several players who could create their own shots off the dribble. LSU brought a player off the bench to score 21 pts in the first half- Jazz Carson. Iowa didn't have that. South Carolina would've got that work, too! We all knew LSU had it in them. LSU opened the season scoring 100 or more points in several games, but people excused it as saying it was inferior competition. Was Iowa inferior competition? No. LSU simply outscored the nations best offense amd played enough defense to hold Iowa and Caitlin Clark below their respective averages. The technical foul on Clark was crap...but there were lots of crappy calls in both sides.. Phantom fouls...but also no calls where players could've lost teeth or gotten a broken jaw. The fouls were pretty even on both sides. LSU won it from the field, not the free throw line. Clark needs a big girl, and a 2 guard or wing...and watch out. LSU brought offense to the game that counted. LSU was so awful in the Miami game offensively that they scored more points in the 1st half against Iowa than the entire game against Miami. Iowa shot 50%. LSU just shot even better. Basketball is a team sport and if Clark would've gotten 50, it still wouldn't have mattered because LSU made sure her teammates weren't going to add much to the scoring tally.
I'm expecting that Iowa will win in this game because of c Clark who is a good shooter but she is alone whereas the TIGERS players are all good shooters. There is no tension in their faces. Relaxs @nd calmed determine to win...so there.....

Stuff like this is why I've preferred Women's March Madness over Men's March Madness. There's just this sense of raw emotion that doesn't come across as well with men. I love sports for the emotion. It makes that sense why two favorite sports to watch (basketball and football) are two of the most emotional.
Looking at IOWA Shooting Stats (FG% - 50.0, 3FG% - 46.7) and 20 Assists you would thing they won it. IOWA's Achilles heal, Rebounding, was a negative and LSU's 3FG% of 64.7 were big reasons for the loss. A big factor in LSU's win was aggression that NCAA Women's Refs reward, I think unfairly. But IOWA should have kept their cool. And, I love Bird/Taurasi but only as the greatest basketball dual ever. As announcers, not only don't they add to the game but they provide uncontrolled obnoxious chatter that detracts from the action.

I agree & it’s unfortunate ESPN & ABC both labeled the game as NCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship. Obviously a mistake to record the wrong channel, but solid commentary could’ve salvaged it.

I unsubscribed from every sports channel especially the ones with sport commentary from the mainstream because of the toxicity. The thing that drew me into women college ball was the sportsmanship, but the media is determined to throw their bs into this sport like they have done every other sport. I could watch a college wbb game and not even root for anybody in particular, I could just watch ball and appreciate, admire and love all coaches and teams. The media insist on asking athletes and coaches inflammatory questions especially when people are emotional from a big loss or from an imposed headline/narrative. How many players from all sports have had anxiety for dealing with the media? Now why do they insist on encouraging disrespect? Why do they call or insinuate that disrespecting your opponent is having fun or letting them play or competing? All the lil hand gestures looks and whatever is attributing to a culture of fans similar to football fans. Football fans love one team and are overly emotional after loses. A lot us think sports are supposed to be like that because most of them been like that for so long.
