@Jolly Rancher Same here. Now I think it's the best track here, though the whole album is superb.
Absolutely brilliant
@Happy Camper what Is a filler?i love this
@@alisonannallyallen1437 Songs a band might put on an album to "fill it out" and make it full length. For example, they might have written six good songs and needed four "fillers", which might not be so good, to make it a full 10 song album.
Hail genius Fish
This albun is a masterpiece, just incrdible🎉🎉😮
Heard Marillion first time on the way home in a taxi an early saturday morning, drunk, 39 yrs ago. I actually sobered up in awe over this band I never heard about. Taxi-driver clearly proud to have introduced a costumer to this and we spend half an hour discussing the album; (Script for a jesters tears). He got loads of tip and first thing next day, was to buy the album. The lyrics are beautiful despite the sadness, desolation and seriousness. These albums are what I call a true treasure in any music collection. Thank you Fish and all musicians in Marillion. If the singer is the feelings, the guitar is his tears.
l made nearly the same experience, sitting at a frien'ds place and hearing unnown wonderful music l asked who was the group,he said Marillion. One hour later, still fantasic music playing and l asked who was THIS band now....he replied "Marillion"....half an hour later l asked again what music he was playing NOW and he said"Marillion".....he was ONLY playing Marillion the whole night and from that day on l was listening nearly ONLY to Marillion for almost 10 years in a row.........and still to this day l play Marillion as soon as it pops up on my Ytube.......But only the 3 first albums, the B-sides and the live at the Lorely.........l love their music and l adore the lyrics. Every line is a picture,a dream....ALready the very first one on Jester's trar "here l am once more,in the playground of the broken hearts ΅. what a poesie.....l love Fish and watch his "Fish for friday "every week.He is such a marvelous storyteller.....
Saw them in 86! Phenomenal.
For me it happened nearly the same way....l was hooked immediately....and the it was MARILLION forever and ever.....BRILLIANT BAND....best lyrics of all time
Fantastici
my introduction to the band, in mid-80s, was "misplaced childhood". i listened to it for the first time when i overnighted at my friend's place. he played the cassette tape version of the album when we were about to crash out. 😁
MARILLION -The best BAND👍🤗😊✌️☮️
Lata 80-te, czy pamiętacie Marka Gaszyńskiego i Radiową Dwójkę??? Dzięki Markowi mogliśmy zgrywać na taśmy takie arcydzieła jak muzyka Marrillion, Pink Floyd, The Bolshoi, Chris Rea etc.
Marek czytał również tlumaczenia tekstów. Powinien dostać medal 🏅 za muzyczną edukację młodego pokolenia w latach 80tych.
Nigdy mu tego nie zapomnę. Wierzę, że
Marek Gaszyński przyczynił się do wzbogacenia mojej duszy, bo dzięki "dwójkowym" audycjom mogłem odkryć muzykę która poruszyła moją wyobraźnię i rozbudzała tęsknotę za poszukiwaniem prawdy i autentyzmu.
Pozdrawiam z UK 🇬🇧
🙏❤👏
A Gaszyński parę dni temu?
@@beryl78
This ALBUM should go into the *HALL OF FAME*
Definitely ❤
love this album
i never realized until tonight that Marillion's music sometimes sounds like saga's. 35 years later I see myself in the evening in boarding school with my walkman and Marillion tapes, again and again...
My first Marillion, back in 84, and I became a fan up till today - the same with Fish.
I remember my dad playing Fugazi with old time cassette tape on family holidays... I was a tiny shit but still remembered it. Now I play it on guitar and realise what masterpiece they created. This band is my all time favourite.
One of the best Prog Rock bands ever xxx
Yes I have been listening since I was 19. 61 now! Love ❤️ them
64 here from the 80s listening
Wow, I was 19 as well, born in 62 My favorite band. I love Fish solo as well

I may be a sacrilegious bastard for saying this, Beatles and Marillion;: best bands ever
This album is a real masterpiece!!
Yes Masterpies ❤️❤️❤️🤘🤘🤘
Wow what a record, recently discovered this band and man what have i been missing. Fish is one of the best singers i've ever heard no doubt.
Marillion
Fish - vocals; cover concept
Steve Rothery - guitars
Mark Kelly - keyboards
Pete Trewavas - bass
Ian Mosley - drums
Additional musicians :
Sergey Nazmov - drum machine, screams
Linda Pyke - backing vocal (on "Incubus")
Chris Karan - additional percussion From GELU BATIR, Romania, Ramnicu Valcea Town, march, 2022 I THANK YOU SO MUCH,
Progressive Vinyl
cóż dodać.......nic
It was and remains one of my favourite albums of all time. Marillion with Fish were a brilliant band, without him they were lacking something.
... a singer with the right Carisma? Hogarth can sing but he can't "talk" to our feelings. If he sings of a broken relationship, we don't cry. Fish could easily make us do that.
@@henrikcarlsen1881 Fish is a stunning lyricist too. Massively underrated. I like Steve Hogarth, but his lyrics are no match to Fish's
They went the other way to a singer with a great voice. Though I prefer FISH'S version.
I first came acrossMarrillion at Reading festival and was hooked on the and eagerly awaited the release of script
Einzigartig und unvergessen.
Musik die mich geprägt hat.
Damals wie heute.
Zuhören und genießen.
Und dann ist man glücklich.
so sieht´s aus...
BINGO ! Wo Du Recht hast, hast Du Recht :)
Heard them the first time when I was 15 I’m now 53 and I just reconnected with them.Awesome band!!!
Just like me dude,,, back in the 80s,,never stopped. Fish and the band😉♥️👍🇬🇧
What a brilliant band

Wonderful Album! Thanks for posting!!
Tremendous ❤
And it's only got worse
And where are Fish's political statements these days.....did he become a jabbed jelly fish?
In April 96, I'm listen for first time this album. My mother gift to me in vinyl, the last vinyl shop in my city at that time.
Good mother
Osobny rodzaj muzyki nazwijmy to klimatyczno - rozgrywkowej, nie do podrobienia, kapitalne, emocjonalnie silne, uwielbiam R.
Not only are they absolutely amazing the art work is astounding been listening to them since I was 18 and still listening now at 48
Also love the artwork, and those lyrics which I guess were too much for my comprehension back then (and even now).
These 3 albums are amazing but this Fugazi is perhaps the strange one.... so you started listening to Marillion shortly after Fish left?
Yup. Me too
Master bard at work. You don't get many of those these days.
script for a jester's tear
I've got this tattoo and script of a jesters tear one as well..
EVERY TIME IS I HEAR THIS ALBUM - IAM 16 YEARS OLD AGAIN !!!!... AT THE ROYAL COURT IN LIVERPOOL. FISH & ALL THE OTHER GUYS OF MARILLION ARE GENIUSES IN THEIR OWN RIGHT !!!!... AND STILL BRILLIANT IN 2020.
Same here mate
Only with Fish.
Dude, exactly what I thought today. Heard it today after a very long time, gave me the goosebumps like back in 84....
Do not forget all the tears. .
Of pain or joy this band can bring..forever in our hearts.

This band have been nowhere other than where they should be. Loved by all who have the privilege know them and their music…. From 1983 till 2024… awesome
Sitting here nursing Covid19 and feeling sorry for myself. Clicked on Fugazi and all was well again. Strange how quality music can give you such a lift.
This world is now totally fugazi !

Get well soon buddy
My older brother was a HUGE Genesis fan, and one day I started hearing this stuff, and asked which Era was it? He explained it's this other band, called "Marillion" which was like Genesis on a dark and contemplative day. When we got "Misplaced childhood" I pretty much had it down as these guys are one of the greatest bands ever. I ended up building quite a large collection of theirs over the years. I was on my Mormon Mission in Hannover Germany in late 95, I met Marillion one afternoon, and then 2 weeks later I met Fish, I felt like I had crossed off some serious items on my bucket list to have met them all. I can honestly say that I have spent cumulative months listening to their music. I got to interview Marien Carnes recently who sang backup for Fish, it is still amazing that after so man years this music is still sounding and feeling current. IF anyone knows Marillion, the LOVE the music.
I meet some time Marillion on Konzert in Germany in the end of 80 and 10 years later Fisch stay on the stage without a mask. After a Konzert we meet him in a pup and later party in the Tour bus...this was a nice time and i remeber when i Listen this musik. Thx for upload....
How did Fish act? Was he nice towards you?
Someone in my circle of friends bought this in an import bin just because of the cover. It's one of the few albums I loved every note of from the first spin. Nothing like it.
Mark Wilkinson's cover art is pretty wild... i think my favourite one is "Painkiller" by Judas Priest
this is the music of my youth, I am 55 years old and I still remember the Merilion concert I attended when I was 17. the best concert I've ever been to
I remember a spiders Web and a jester being assassinated fantastic

Been listening to this album for over 35 years dear. Heard it first when i was 18, back in 1986... Still think it's one of the best albums ever recorded!
Had the pleasure of seeing mr Fish perform in AYREON just before Covid 😃♥️♥️♥️
Shaaaa , shaaa , shaaa
Wonderful album of a wonderful band. 😊🌹
Discovered Marillion in the early 80's my Dad was in pto them, gotta admit he had good taste in music love this band xx
i came out my childhood with this band , relieved my wounds , i miss that time ,i miss me too..
In my opinion this is one of the best albums in the history of music.
Steve Rothery- a master
Misplaced Childhood
For me Fugazi is out in front. It's got a depth and intensity that MC can't quite match (despite that being an excellent album too). This is simply a masterpiece.
Genesis,,, the lamb
For me Clutching At Straws is by far the best of the Fish era albums. Despite the tensions between Fish and the band at the time, they had matured greatly as musicians and songwriters by then. The music to me is stronger and the album sounds way better than their earlier ones or even Misplaced. Rothery's guitar work on CAS is simply stunning (That Time of The Night, Sugar Mice, etc.) They had finally transcended their influences with this one. Fugazi is great (and, in my band we still play some of that stuff today) but CAS is just so much better for me.
As a trio of albums, Misplaced, CAS and Season's End stand apart from all the rest for me. Personally I didn't follow Marillion beyond Season's End, not because I didn't like Hogarth, I love Season's End and it's THE best Marillion album ever for me no matter who sings. But nothing after that caught my attention the same way.
Im born in 73. Marillion is my music roots. Memories, memories, memories...
Im '73 too. To także moje korzenie i wspomnienia.

Listened after a 30-year hiatus. For the first time in this time, it coincided with my worldview. It says something about the situation we're in. By the way, in the streaming service, there is only a 2021 remaster. For unknown reason, the famous guitar part from Incubus (about the 36th minute) is somehow retracted, barely audible there. I specifically found this entry here to make sure that I did not invent anything for myself.
2023 still waiting for my man. Fkn awesome album forever San Francisco California got to see them clutching at straws and Misplaced Childhood Amazing
MARILLION💃👍JEST MOC NIESAMOWITA👏💪🆗✋ POZDRAWIAM Z POLSKI💟💞💕💝💖💓.
Jest moc, nie da się ukryć :)
Nieporownywalna z niczy innym,pozdrawiam cieplo
A poet of progress rock and true life. I love this band for everything they did
I bought this album when it came out in 1984. A few months earlier I had learned about Script for a Jester's Tear, which hadn't left my turn table for quite a while. To this day, these two are my favorite Marillion albums. They were unbelievably good at the time, and I was in my late teens, so extremely impressionable. 😉
When I first " HE KNOWS YOU KNOW " I was a fan. Fugazi and Script are my favs. When Steve Hogarth took over I was mad as hell but I later appreciated Season Ends
watched lorley the other day..what a band ..what a time to be alive
I’m in the US, a buddy was into this band in 84/85 he liked to buy vinyl imports.
First song I heard was Market Square Hero.
Sold.
It only got better from there, why I’m commenting in this album section.
Beautiful album covers as well.
Probably one of the most underrated bands ever.
Every single track is perfection, as is the story that runs through the whole album, it's a Masterpiece.
Damm right
Hi Seagreen, love the name;
I remember it being in my head as I played mini golf on a rec group in 2011; especially the eponymous track at the end
Best - - live double CD - - much more energy - -
@@p_9675 like Tangerine. Zeppelin
@@p_9675 it's funny what the mind remembers accompanied to music...the Lake District and Morpeth (Northumberland & Craster) always always pop up for me when Fugazi comes on, in fact I play the album when I am about 45 minutes ETA to either of these places! I love Crazy Golf😂. It's got to have a moving windmill and a cute cottage lol
Marillion at their finest!!! Assasing is still their song that that pops into my mind most often... I was there from nearly the start... Hammersmith in '83...
fantastic poetry by Fish, artwork, lyrics, music - everything is perfection. never get tired of listening to this band!!
More than 26 years and the same joy 👂👍🃏
😎🍀🤓 yes, I saw them 1986 in Offenbach/Germany!!!
Marillion at their best!!!
Can't really describe my feelings each time I'm listening to this timeless masterpiece. "Jigsaw" is simply phenomenal!!!
Yesterday starts tommorrow, tomorrow starts today. Lol. That rings a bell.
One of the 10 best rock albums ever.

I saw their last ever gig, a catastrophic fiasco in torrential rain at Craigtoun Park outside St Andrews. But still what a band
Guitar solo from Incubus is absolutely one of the best ever ! Listened to it since the album first came out and still think it’s amazing !
That guitar solo started it for me and 38 years later still devoted - next album will be incredible.
One of my favourite albums by Marillion, and just as excellent in 2020 as it was when first released.
Yup!
My favourite Marillion album. Never borig, always fresh and exciting. With a perfect finalle
My favourite Marillion. And my favourite Marillion song is here, which is Incubus.

It always start off with listening at a casual level. Then as the album progresses I find I have slowly turned up the volume and become consumed by the emotional power of this masterpiece and the powerful delivery.
Yep. And not many can do that. This is lie in the dark with headphones on, and just get swept away by the emotion. Fkn awesome.
Rock on to loud to old right
I think this album stands the test of time, as for being a test on whether "listeners" are actually listening. So many innuendos and musical subtleties that enhance the lyrical narrative! My all-time favorite Marillion record, hands down!!
You, Master, hit the nail on the head. I NEED to get a MUCH bigger subwoofer ha ha.
zdecydowanie najlepsza płyta , arcydzieło !!!!!
The albums with Fish have been my personal favourites for over 35 years and are still the most played of any music in own 🤘🤘
Fish was a beast listened nonstop also great memories
Is Fish the guy in Marillon.????
@@alisonannallyallen1437 Lead singer. Replaced by Steve Hogarth when Fish voluntarily left. Marillion, which should have changed their name then, still put out great music in the Hogarth era, if you are so inclined to check them out.

Great album!
In my opinion is difficult to choose one track, all are masterpiece.
I found a K7 in the street when I was a kid, with no box. It was just written "Marillion", "Fugazi" on it. I listened to it until the tape was so used it broke. I believed "Fugazi" was the band and "Marillion" was the album. I had no idea what prog rock was, not even rock. Now, 35 years later, it's with great pleasure that I can hear to this pure jewel of prog rock.
Fugazi was later a mediocre punk band
What a story ! That’s how music should be appreciated. Hey I think they should make a movie about your tape finding experience and what it lead to.

On every album they have ever done and I've listened to all of them Steve rothery is brilliant. One of the most underrated guitarists of all time. I loved this album from the time it came out. And I don't care what anybody says fish it's my ears just like geddy Lee does from rush. They are just brilliant.
brian whitney thank you 🙏
Don’t forget Peter Hammill (Van der Graaf Generator)

Agree. Steve Rothery is one of the most underrated guitarists alongside Alex Lifeson from Rush. They never received the appreciation they deserved. Especially Rothery.
@@davideig4281 I know that Geddy's voice is very divisive, but I like it. After the 70s, he finally stopped screaming, and he really could sing well, but Fish's voice is definitely better.
