    I thought I would leave this note talking about the end of the video where I stated that there’s not much else you can do about health OCD other than counseling and medication. I wanted to mention that I’m referring to the state of mind where if you genuinely are believing that you are suffering from extreme health conditions every day and it is impacting your functioning then those are extremely important steps to getting better. There are obviously things you can do on your own like learning mindfulness and learning to not give into compulsions, but if it gets to the point of impairing functioning, I would strongly suggest looking into medication because that level of separation from reality can spiral into a very dark place that I have unfortunately been to and I wish that someone had told me at that time that it didn’t have to get that bad and there were treatment options available. Sorry if that caused any confusion, I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it look bleak.

    I learned that when if I was worried about a particular health issue, that worry would eventually go away because I was preoccupied with a different health issue. Eventually you learn that you have that pattern, then you won't worry as much. That being said, if there is a specific thing about your health that you worry about and no other things, then get it checked out.
