Infertility can be. When I had kids 50 years ago it was never talked about as it was almost shameful. I am so glad that you are bringing it out into the open and helping couples. I am SO happy for T&T!! This podcast is helpful for anyone who has waited longer than they expected. I don't know of any other couple who has been brave enough to discuss their struggle with infertility. The whole experience doesn't make you weak but makes you stronger with a greater perspective!

Congratulations! As a parent to 3 college graduate children… parenting is so amazing. All of it … the good - the bad & the ugly… it’s beautiful! Can’t wait to see the amazing team you are as partners.
3 words to begin: START A FOUNDATION! This amazing work you have begun is going to snowball! Between your careers, precious Georgie 💗 and possibly another baby, you will lose your minds. 🤪 There is so, SO much more to explore/unpack on the subject of infertility, surrogacy, adoption, mental health, physical treatments, etc… and you two are uniquely positioned to advocate, to educate, to fundraise (yuck but necessary), and to help so many struggling families! Hire women/men who have been in the same trenches and know the despair as you do.
Personally, this podcast is smart, informative and deeply personal in all the best ways. Kudos to you both for the courage it took to do this. I think your work on disseminating info on infertility is probably going to be remembered right up there in importance with that gold medal! (I’ll never forget the scream - I was in my 30’s then and laughed & cried right along w/you!).

You mentioned secondary infertility. I was wondering when that would come up in your podcast. My first pregnancy was smooth sailing. We got pregnant on the first try. Our son is now 3.5 yo. We were under a false sense of security and thought it would be just as easy the second time around but no. We tried naturally, timed intercourse, IUI, and finally IVF. I just completed my second egg retrieval last Tuesday 🤞🤞🤞🤞
And I forgot to mention, congratulations on your beautiful baby girl! Georgie is absolutely perfect! I’m so happy for you, Todd, and all of your loved ones.
I think the thing Todd mentions about the stories he heard regarding the first few days and week are still true for couples where the mom is having breastfeeding difficulties, (just plain old breastfeeding is hard), hormonal fluctuations, sometimes recovering from a c-section or vaginal birth injuries. This is just my opinion as a past Mother/Baby nurse. Todd and Tara went through different difficulties, but not ones post partum mothers experience which probably made that time less difficult.
If you paid close attention to what Tara's body and psyche has endured for 5 years, including four real pregnancies and miscarriages, multiple full anesthesia procedures, and endless hormonal shots (and the resulting fluctuations), I'd say she earned at the very least a happy post-birth experience. Please give her that much.
