I wanted to complain about this not having over-discharge protection on the lithium cell, but looking at it... I doubt that led can draw more juice than the solar cell can recharge in half the time. And the li-ion cell's capacity is huge compared to both the charging cell and drain from the led. And self-discharge can probably take care of any over charging of the cell.
So, I like it.
Yes the battery capacity is 2000mah,the solar panel give around 20 to 40 mah max,the led pull around 15mah so everything is stable,tested 👍
You can make an easy waterproof light with an old coffee jar. The solar cell and circuitry are completely protected from moisture!

Been repairing me mother's garden lights with failed AAAs some have smaller ones too and sealing them from water and swapping to bigger capacity cell bloody rust is a nightmare 😂 this is better upgrade with li-ion cells
Yes,with using lion you get more capacity and that small solar panel cant hurt the battery bcz of low charging amps

Most of the small solar lights use nickel metal hydride batteries at 1.2 volts and the solar panel produces about 2 volts. The newer ones have a dedicated chip that only needs a small inductor along with the solar panel to charge the battery and drive the LED. The circuit is basically a joule thief so that the LED can be powered with one small battery at around 1 volt.
That is basic circuit mostly used in garden lights,I have couple of cheap solar garden lights but they didnt last long,so I decide to make my own with lion 3.7 battery
