One thing that was never taught to me was when thepack is loaded to always lift the pack by the ring not by the strap. You will add life to your pack if you do this.
I got the 58. I since returned it. The pack stitching failed and the material on top of the pack against the internal frame squeaked and drove me nuts. I only made it 200 miles with this pack
Turtle and Pup wow! I had a palisades for 20 years. I’m now searching for another but I feel Gregory has really decreased with innovative design. After 20 years I expected more. Recently tried thier Baltoro n didn’t feel right. Was going to try out this 58 for 3 day hikes. But not a lot of external storage.
@@NJK80 in the end I did return the pack. I need to do a updated video. My pack choice moved to a talon 44 amzn.to/3HpLdZM, it was actually a little to big with all my new ultralight gear. I wish i had got the 33 amzn.to/39u5Vv2. I carried pup ontop of this model 44 for 200 miles in 2021 on the AT and its the best stitching ive ever owned. I wouldn't buy anther paragon after the talon fir my needs. The Gregory did offer lager pockets and more comfort. The talon was extremly light and durable. My next pack pup will be able to go inside due to her age and mobility restrictions i will have to carry her allot if we return to trail.

The side pocket is worthless for me, as I line the inside of my backpack with a contractor type trash bag, as rain/water protection.
